  1. ;) ..... with any luck, his recall will have been completed by the time I finished getting through THAT name!!
  2. LOL - I think more perhaps "Heaven sent to test me" ;)
  3. I think I needed the time to build up the energy! This little man has been keeping me very busy .... and my 'ignoring' for his frequent demanding (loudly) has gone out the window temporarily as he paid me back with a dose of the squirts that then got scattered all over the crate and splattered onto the carpet. But it's ok. He's soundo at the moment on my lap, with his head resting on the lap top as I type. I saw the name "Kosey" and whilst I admit he is definitely 'cosey' atm, I don't think that's his name. Honestly - he hasn't given me much time to properly consider any names today.
  4. Going by the link to the list I put up (above) .... I think that's a girl's name? Unless I am mistaken, because the translation is not to english. But then it's all in a language I don't understand, so maybe I have the 'boys' and 'girls' mixed up???
  5. Found another link to RR names (was the one I was thinking of in "general"). RR Names I'm going through it now to see if there's something there that 'grabs' me. ETA : ... Wish I could understand all the translations  My sister suggested "Mandela", after Nelson Mandela.
  6. LOL ..... I have always enjoyed a challenge  ..... not sure if I understand the reference to "Ry Cooder" .... or whether I should? .... we'll see ;). Thanks. Have a few piccies. My little man certainly found his voice and I promise you it is a big one. I will get to the piccies as soon as I can. Must admit I've been busy putting into practice all the stuff I have in the past recommended other people to do. Glad I can't be quoted as saying it is easy. Thanks RG. I'll bear that in mind.
  7. By APDT do they mean "Association of Pet Dog Trainers" or "Association of Professional Dog Trainers". There are two APDT's. I don't know the books, but if they are "Association of Pet Dog Trainers" I suspect they would be geared towards positive training rather than all four quadrants of learning principals.
  8. Hi PF and yes I do. There was a list around here, but I can't find it. It gave the english 'meaning' of the names too. Think it might have been in 'general forum'. I'll have another look later. Also, there's a bit of a theme for names, it seems, on the father's side ..... "Elvis"; "Pink Floyd". So trying to think of a band or singer with a great name that has some 'ring' to it, and that would suit. I don't know. I'm a bit of a blank at the moment, but the usual broken sleep that comes with house training isn't helping. I think it is time for me to have a cup of coffee ............. But thanks for the 'cheers' and congrats everyone. I have a few photo's of him getting stuck into a chicken frame. Will be 'clicking' here and there throughout the day and will put some more piccies up as soon as I can. Cosmolo .... even though I appreciate the name suggestion and votes from others, I agree - this isn't going to be a "Roger" dog. A friend of mine from many years back was "Roger" and I'd keep thinking I'd be calling him, not my pup. Besides, him and puppy look nothing alike .
  9. Hey Jeff. No probs. I have a special credit card just for matters such as this. ;)
  10. Aaaawww Haven .... once again I noticed you being a bit 'quiet' and thought to myself that there must be action at the station. No sign of activity yet? Thanks for the congrats. And happy to do swaps. But you might find your baby house trained differently than what you might be intending. ;).
  11. So, "Rijstone Roger Jeff" ???? LOL No hijack detected Jeff. Anytime (unless I tell you otherwise :p ) (Does this 'niceness' get me back into the JDTF RPL good books?) :D
  12. Ummm Jeff ............. should we be thankful? ;)
  13. Congratulations and well done to all! Great effort! ;)
  14. Thanks GtN. Silly me ..... forgot to charge the camera. I'm sure to be taking piccies tomorrow - unless pup catches on to his latest trick of pushing the shutter button. He's just polished off how to set the camera to the tripod.
  15. Don't apologise. I like to hear of Jeff's failures. So Jeff ..... you don't train for recyclable separation??? I take it then, that you are not a qualified trainer????? Hhhhmmmmmmmmm? ETA: Sorry Danois, I forgot to add that "puppy" is a Rhodesian Ridgeback.
  16. ;) "Rijstone Roger" .................... it's got a certain 'ring', I'll admit that! ;)
  17. Yeah well, Jeff ....... difference is, I don't like to brag. Hold on a second while I get puppy to turn the TV off and turn down my bed.............................
  18. Hehehe .... trouble? Nah. He only came home this evening and he already has had one house-training lesson. Should be houserained by tomorrow, and then we can refine heel and stay work .......................... :p
  19. Presenting ................................. "Puppy!!!" (haven't named him yet ) :p
  20. Thanks Penski. As per my PM back to you, I've placed a couple of telephone calls. Also placed one the other day to a Vet I have used for my own purposes (this instance is not about a dog of my own) and he rang back today. The enquiries/investigation that I am doing is still a 'work in progress', but I am hopeful that out of the Vets who do respond, we will be able to get somewhere and come to a conclusion. Sorry to be a bit allusive in regards to detail, but it relates to a client and I need to regard "client confidentiality" for professional reasons. Appreciate the responses given . Cheers! Erny
  21. Ahhhh ..... now I see the confusion Haven had. Denis Carthy is DEFINITELY a different person to Denis Cody. Thanks Oonga, for picking up on this.
  22. Thanks guys ..... although this is not about the levels that would show up under the usual T4 and TSH tests that Australia conducts out here. This is about the full blood panel of tests for which we don't have the laboratory facilities. Tests have been done and results found. But a Vet doesn't agree. But TD ..... I'll contact your Vet and discuss it with him - see what he's familiar with :p. Thanks. But I really need someone who is familiar with Dr. Dodd's testing regime and analysis.
