how funny Olly. Beau gets the runs on anything but Coprice! I had Sascha on supercoat as a pup and she used to have this smell that emanated from her, I think it seeped out of her skin. Now she is on coprice and the only time she smells is when she rolls in cow manure

Just checked, Coprice has rice and wheat but no others. Which cereals and grains are the ones that really cause trouble?

Interesting point about GH having sensitive tums. Maybe that's why coprice is used so frequently by GH people. It is certainly one of the few including Eukanuba that we have been able to have Beau on without allergy issues.

I chose Other. My two get Coprice they look great and it's cheap, $27 for 20kg

We feed Coprice which is commonly used by greyhound trainers, we feed two dogs(10kg and 35kg) on one bag per month. Due to allergies they rarely get anything else other than the odd bone and a raw egg each a few times a week. The bag is 20kg and costs us about $27.

I know that my friends racing greyhound (house dog, it's just a hobby) went to training for 10 WEEKS! Came back happy and well trained, I'm sure that it depends on the trainer and the facility more than the length of time and cost.

having a dog sent away for boarding and training is very common I believe in greyhund circles. There are some things which for whatever reasona person may be unable to train at home. Personally I wouldn't go down that route but I can understand how it would be necessary in some cases.

I would also be asking for your money back as it is clear that they have created more problems than they intended to fix...

We are very consistent in our house wth doggy inside rules. Beau and Sascha aren't allowed to rough house in the house. They are welcome to be inside as long as they are calm and they enjoy their time inside but they know that if they want to play they go outside. This works well for us mainly because Beau has a habit of running things(including small children) over without looking where he is going so this rule means that he knows that their are quiet areas and play areas.

Why not teach the dog that certain rooms, such as the rumpus or TV rooms, are acceptable play areas, but the formal areas and the kitchen are quiet areas where he has to calm down.

good news, I have an OH like that too but sometimes you just have to bat the eyelashes and get them to the vet

get himto a vet NOW, could be a tick that's already dropped off, could be parvo, could be anything. Do what best for your pup and get it checked.

I make boots for foot injuries. Made one for Beau's foot when he injured it last week, PM me if you are interested I could mail it tomorrow.

If you buy the pet roo meat from the supermartket(or any pet meat for that matter) be careful. They have recently discovered a link between the preservative 222(I think) used in this meat and stroke in animals that are fed it as a primary source of nutrition. My cat has recently had two strokes which she has luckily recovered from, our vet feels that the pet meat is the culprit

Why not try using a bucket and one of tjose big sponges that you wash the car with. Have someone help you the first few times. Get them to distract hedr with something yummy like a bone while you wipe her down with the sponge. The first few times squeeze most of the water out so that it doesn't drip too much. I wouldn't worry about shampoo at this stage just get her used to the water and use a spray if she smells :rolleyes:

Sascha just thought that the sheep had nice soft backs to sit on, the perfect sheep skin seat cover-even heated :rolleyes:

he's a big dog though so he scares the crap out of the sheep :rolleyes: , if he got back and didn't work so close he probably wouldn't be too bad. He just a bit pushy sometimes.

I never would have believed that a big mutt like Beau could have a decent go at herding but Dave took him in there and got him started really quickly. Wow what an education :rolleyes:

We have all just got home from herding for the first tme with Herding Guy. Sascha looked great and seems to have some good natural ability to build on. The thing that blew me away though was Beau! I took him along so as not to leave him behind but we ended up putting him in the pen with the sheep! For anyone that doesn't know Beau is a lab X boxer with a bit of mastiff in the mix. It was amazing to see him herding sheep

All up it was a great day, great dogs, great people and even the weather was fantastic

I use Coprice, no colours or preservatives,etc and my dogs look great. Plus it's only $25 for 20kg

I was quoted $180 for Beau as a 40kg dog.

Was just wondering how eating a food that is designed to help clean teeth would negate the effect of RMB's? Also that doesn't explain why one dogs teeth are perfect whereas Beaus get gunky very quickly when they eat the same diet.
