Hi,
I have a nine month old puppy dog that I am rehoming very soon. I was wondering if anyone has any advice that will make him leaving his home here with us, and his litter sister and mother any easier. I took him to the vet today to be desexed and he was very anxious as I realised he has never really been apart from us or his dog family here at any time. When we go to shows he is always with us and another dog or two, and when he is home here and we are away he has his mother and sister with him.
I am getting a little concerned that separation from us when he goes to his new home won't be as easy as I thought (or as easy as when they are young puppies 8 weeks going to their new homes.) Just wanting to know how others have handled this and whether I am worrying unnecessarily when the the time comes for him to go to his new home.
