  1. Love all the photos of the babies.

Here is a link to my facebook page, so hopefully it will work. Pups are 13 days old today and just starting to open their eyes.

They are all up on their feet toddling around and extremely cute!

Facebook link didn't work...Does anyone know how you can do that? I have seen others do it.

  2. Nothing changes here, everything is carried on as normal.

Once the pups are vaccinated they can go to their new homes in 36 hours.

I have been interested in this as well...I have a litter and just because of the work involved in the litter have stopped showing for a little while, but have one dog that I think because she is not regularly going to shows at the moment really needs to be out amongst people and different environments and was wondering whether it is safe to take her walking in town (we live out of town on property). How much risk is there that she would bring parvo home? She is vaccinated of course.

Also My husband is a tradesman in a rural area and he goes all over the place. I do insist his shoes are left outside and away from the puppy area, but where do you draw the line. I am slightly confused over this issue. Mum of pups is fully vaccinated, but pups are not quite 2 weeks old.

Very interested in people's opinion on this topic.

  3. Congrats to all the new babies, Kanati - wow - lots of puppies - you must be exhausted!

We lost the two pups on day one, but the six remaining are thriving!

Such a shame about the 2 little babies you lost. Very sad, but happy to here the rest are doing very well.

My babies are getting fatter, by the hour I think. Very cute, they sure are timewasters though, I can sit and play and watch them for hours.

  4. Labs26 hope your little ones pull through ok. My litter were all squealing and crying non stop for quite a bit earlier today. Made sure they were all suckling well, which they were. After a while of listening to them I moved them out of the room they were in, into the loungeroom on a piece of vetbed and put a frozen bottle of water in the middle wrapped in a towel and they all stopped crying and went to sleep. Seems they were too hot in the room I had them in.

It has been very warm here today, up until now the weather has been perfect puppy weather! Hope it cools down again soon.

  5. The mum of the pups is a Gypsy Granddaughter, I kept a boy from Gypsy's last litter and he has had 2 litters. I have now sold him, but he produced some nice puppies. I am hoping to keep 2 girls out of this litter, hopefully a yellow & black if they look good.

  6. Labs26, your puppies look absolutely gorgeous. Although I think all labs at any age look divine!

I so wanted a Blueprint puppy, I sent Gypsy down twice to be mated to him and no luck. She is now desexed, so no Gypsy/blueprint puppies, which I think would have been very special.

    Piper looks very content!

  7. The photos don't actually show just how big she is!! She was scanned 4 down one side and 2 down the other. I'm thinking

that it just might be wrong!!

Wow she is big! My girl was scanned and the vet thought 6 or 7. She had 10. So expect a few more I would say! Good luck!

  8. Very cute pups choc..bordercollie. Don't you love surprises! I couldn't tell whether my little chocolates were black or chocolate in the dim lighting on the night they whelped, had to turn on the main light to have a good look, and still wasn't totally convinced until they were fully dry. Very nice surprise though!

  10. Beautiful SV! Love the 2 chocolate surprises. RIP the little one that didnt make it, was it the first one?

It was actually the 9th puppy, so second last. She did have a long break between the 8th and 9th! He was blue and had been gone a little while. I actually expected the last puppy to possibly have passed as well, but he was fine!

It is always sad to lose one, even when the litter is large.

Daisy is doing so much better later today she has taken to her puppies beautifully, no more growling and she is cleaning and toileting like a pro. I am still with her all the time, just to make sure, as she is still a bit clumsy with them.

Hopefully Daisy & I will get a bit of sleep tonight.

  11. We have puppies. After a very, very long night we ended up with 9 beautiful lab babies and unfortunately 1 was still born so she had 10 in all.

She took a very long time to start, but once pups started coming she pumped them out pretty well from about 2.30am until 7.10am.

We have 2 yellow girls, 1 black boys, 3 black girls, 1 yellow boy and 2 chocolate boys (which I wasn't expecting at all!) All doing well.

Mum has had a few moments where I think she was overwhelmed and had a little growl, I have given her calcium and hoping that the growl

    was related to the pain.

Very tired now, but have to keep an eye on mum just to make sure she is coping with all those puppies around her!

    Photos soon.

  12. Good luck labs26. My girl is due tomorrow, I thought today was going to be the day, last night her temp had come down a bit and she was very restless, nesting, a bit of panting on and off and didn't eat much dinner last night.

Bit of panting today, and not eating today. So maybe tonight!

  13. Congratulations LotG and BM. So glad everything went well with your bubs! It is good to read some good news especially when I have a litter about to be born.

My girl had a very quiet night, so nothing happening here for a while yet. I don't think she can get much bigger though. She is absolutely huge. I have never had a girl get as big,

I don't know if it is just her shape, which is why she looks so large, or whether she has lots of puppies in there! My biggest litter so far has been 11(this girls grandmother) and I don't really want to have one

    that big again!

  14. My girl is day 60 tomorrow! Her temp is still normal and she is uncomfortable but happy. Still eating, although I would be surprised if she goes off her food. Her grandmother never went off her food at all before during or after labour.

Here are some photos I took tonight.

  15. Good luck Michelle, hope all is well with your girl. Our litter due on the 20th, showing at the Royal on Saturday, fly to Adelaide on Sunday (son swimming at Nationals) back on Tuesday - hopefully she will keep everything together till I get home!! OH will be home with her, he has whelped the last three litters with me, and I have another lab breeder on stand by! I will be a nervous wreck until I get home!

My girl is fine, she is acting very normal and her temp hasn't dropped, I don't really expect her to go much before Friday or Saturday (her due date from first mating), she could even hold out until next week sometime. She is huge though and is staying by my side most of the time. She wants to nest, but not in the box, she chewed the side of the bed next to her whelping box trying to get under it! The slight discharge from last night is gone. I love getting on here and finding out how everyone is going with their litters, but it can be a bit frightening when you read others misfortune, and then makes me a little paranoid I think!

You will be very busy! Good luck at the Royal, who are you showing? Hope your son does well at the swimming Nationals. Best of luck with this litter!
