  1. I also have a dog who is getting out of control with her barking - we have just moved house about a month ago and she loves it here! She is often just out sitting in the middle of the lawn "talking" to herself, the birds, whatever! LOL BUT it is getting annoying and we don't want to get the neighbours offside. She also barks to come in...then barks to go out.....I have tried to ignore her so she hasn't got me "trained" to respond each time she barks - but ignoring her doesn't work - she just keeps going. I'm thinking of trying an anti-bark collar but I'm not sure how effective they would be on a really fluffy dog? She is a Samoyed. Any ideas to help would be appreciated.
  2. I'm planning to come this Sunday with my 2.
  3. Peibe Where do you go to get your meat/chicken so cheap?
  4. My 2 do the same thing - they just miss us when we are out and they need to tell us all about their day when we get home. If my dogs were quiet and calm when I came home something would be wrong!
  5. I gotta say, my reaction to the 100% recall prerequisite to attend the next meet made me think I shouldn't go. My pups are pups, they train hard and they do well - BUT I can't say that when they are off playing with 10 other pups on the other side of the field and I call them, that they would drop the game and come running! Can anyone really say their dog has 100% recall? I've never met one yet..... If this is going to turn into a bitch fight and people are going to make rules for attending, then I won't be coming any more. I take my dogs to places where they can relax and have fun, they get a chance to run free and play like the puppies they are and I know my dogs have absolutely NO agression towards any other dog or human. I know and trust them 100%. I feel that if someone has a dog that is not well socialised and could turn on another dog or human, then an off lead park is not the place for them to be until they get over it. Ok, I've had my say...off to cuddle my pups now....
  6. Hey Flame's Daddy! Great to see you again too.... If you guys happenes to take any pics with my 2 fluffers in them I'd love a copy ;-) Always looking for new pics for our website! Please email to [email protected] Thanks!
  7. BUGGER! Looks like showers tomorrow - bring your raincoats!!
  8. WOO HOO! See you all tomorrow! I'll also try to get there a bit early... Re the Xmas party - we have a few months to confirm details for this. I just put together those dates as a starting point for eveyone - nothing is set in cement and we can always make changes to suit. I was also wondering if maybe when the weather warms up we could have a get together at a dog beach? There is a fantastic park and beach at Bayview - maybe we could have our Xmas party there?? Throw in some ideas guys!
  9. I train with food and it really works! The thing I don't get though is that all through our training we use food - then when we go into competition they don't allow it! Why can't we use food in CD? So many more dogs would enter and pass if we could.....and why don't they train us without food in pre-trial classes??
  10. How about getting a cat? Just my 2 cents worth for an appropriate apartment pet... BTW - where are you? Maybe you can get in touch with a local rescue group.
  11. http://www.samsmiles.org/catsdogs.html Here's a good article on introducing cats and dogs. I have 2 young dogs and 5 cats here - plus I foster kittens! I have had no problems with them - my cats put the dogs in their place as necessary and my dogs are well trained. Good luck!

  13. I'm so glad others though the regular meets were a good idea! My dogs and I just LOVE to get out and about as much as possible and to run free with other doggies is a bonus! Not to mention the fact that I get to meet all you cool doggy lovers :-) How about I put up some dates now for the next few months - that way everyone can put these in their diary and plan around them: Sat 3 June 11am - Rouse Hill Sun 2 July 11am - Rouse Hill Sat 5 Aug 11am - Rouse Hill Sun 3 Sept 11am - Rouse Hill Sat 7 Oct 11am - Rouse Hill Sun 5 Nov 11am - Rouse Hill Sat 2 Dec 11am - Rouse Hill - Christmas Party!!! If anyone wants to make any other suggestions (e.g. alternate location/time/themes etc.) please jump in!
  14. It's in the diary! See you all there :-) Heidi, Ticco and Kirri
