  1. Interesting - I saw a Judge Judy episode on this very topic and I thought her ruling was WAY off base........Neighbour 1 has small dog, Neighbour 2 has two large dogs. Said large dogs dig through and grab small dog, drag it into their yard and kill it. Neighbour 1 fills hole under fence and purchases yet another small dog. Neighbour 2's dogs again dig under and kill it.....this time they are caught in Neighbour 1's yard with body of victim in their mouths. Neighbour 2 accepts no responsibilty and refuses to pay for anything.....and JJ agree with him....said that Neighbour 1 had no right to leave a small dog in the yard without being supervised at all times and verdict was for the defendant (Neighbour 2)........I actually wondered if she was off her meds that day - the bizarrest ruling I have heard in a while.....

  2. I exhibit 3 breeds in 3 different groups but only breed one....I wouldn;t even consider breeding the other two as frankly 1) I'm not inyerested and 2) I don't know nearly enough about the breeed let alone the lines......happy to promote the breed just not add to the population.....

  3. This will be my last comment on the subject - it seems the MDBA has, IMO, moved far away from its original objectives to promote PUREBRED dogs.....the inclusion of oodle breeders makes no sense to me and they can try and justify it all they like but it just doesn't fly for one very good reason - why create oodles if not to crank them out for money? With all the breeds currently available and those that actually ARE hypoallergenic and therefore fit for purpose why create oodles?

As for the Cobber dog - what a load of crap - money, money, money......

  4. Err thanks but just went through that thread and can't find any reference to someone breeding their dog in the way portrayed in this thread - what am I missing? Or did you think I menat the thread about the $500 fee? the OP of this thread was talking about someone breeding their bitch - it's THAT thread I'm after pls....

  5. And just so you are kept up to date Dogs Qld have moved to have an injunctuion passed so that the breeds remains separated until the ANKC can hear further debate on the issue....so don't hold your party just yet Lilli.....and just as an aside Kangals still appear in the breeds list for Dogs Qld as at today :)

  6. Phil is now the only one I would bother with......Christine Kidd at Manly Rd was good but no longer undertakes repo work. I tried Annette Page but wouldn't dip into that particular well again (happy to pm you with reasons)....so only Phil for me.....

  7. People's attitude really astounds me at times - recently a woman bought a young child into the dog park (without a dog) and just let her wander around patting the dogs while she talked on the phone. Entertainment for the child I suppose - until it goes horribly wrong - luckily it did not that day. :mad

That is one of many reasons I don't use off leash parks....it used to be a common occurrence at a park in East Brisbane.....a family would wait until people brought their dogs down in the afternoon then walk up and dump their kids over the fence and wander off to sit a few hundred metres away to smoke and drink. We were supposed to be watchful of their brats who would run around screaming, chasing dogs, grabbing tails and ears and causing chaos.....within 5 minutes the place would empty of dogs and the kids would be throwing tantrums that their toys had gone....it didn't matter how many times we spoke to the parents they would tell us to "f off" as it was their "right" to be there.....many of us left that particular park - it simply wasn't worth the aggrevation......after a few more scary occurrences at off leash parks I simply stopped using them.

It is my right to determine who touches my dogs and who doesn't....just like a normal parent wouldn't like one of their children being manhandled by a complete stranger I don't like my dogs being touched without permission.....

  8. I don't think the law is contradictory - I think the news article is, however....

All cats and dogs must now be microchipped before they are sold or given away. - that's the law so you must m/chip unless you get an exemption via a vet's letter.

You don't need to put the m/chip number in an ad if you are giving the animal away....but it still must be microchipped......

That's the way I read it....
