  1. Since having a really bad experience which ended in tragedy for the puppy from someone trying to get our price down years ago I have learnt my lesson well and truly.

If there is any bartering about the price or complaining about my puppy prices I say..."See Ya later Alligator".

If they think a puppy is something they can barter over or try to get a cheap bargain basement puppy then how will they afford good veterinary care for the life of the dog.

Also some people think if they get a cheap puppy and it doesn't work out eg. they dont put the effort into training, they can just go get another cheap puppy later on.

I dont have time for those people any more!

They try to make you feel bad for trying to cover some of the costs of raising a well bred litter.

If we break even with a litter we are ecstatic but it doesn't usually happen very often.

  2. I have always chosen the puppies for the new families according to which one is best suited for their circumstances and their needs.

Everyone has always been very happy with my choice for them.

A good breeder is the one who knows the puppies best so its always the best option.

  3. Well I must be made of jelly

This surely made me cry and yes I have seen stone cold people standing there ignoring the veterans with sour looks on their faces simply because they were

    top winners in their day.

I love seeing the veterans out and seeing the great condition they are still in and the loving looks in the owners eyes.

It shows that they are still loved and cherished by their owners to see the love that obviously goes into their care and not just relegated to the outside kennel.

  4. I'd forget the Eukanuba for now and try another brand see if it changes the behaviour..... if it does donate the Eukanuba to charity.

Its not worth the behaviour characteristics of hyperactivity to set in at puppy age if its only caused by the food.

You could also try Natures Gift puppy can food and see if that helps, as it has no additives.

  5. Ummmmm cervix is not where the dog gets in ...google might help you out here !

A.I's are done after the cervix has closed and when the eggs are ripe so depending on how long the eggs live for you may get puppies

or you may just make the vet richer :)

To get a successful A.I you need to map the progesterone rise not just get one reading which may or may not be accurate.

Calibration of the equipment can and does give false results which is why if you are getting an A.I it is recommended to get prog levels done every day to work out the optimal day for insemination.

You also need a new stud master...one who knows what they are talking about :)
