Recommendation For Obedience School

Recommended Posts

Hi

Milo's just completed puppy pre-school and he's done pretty good. He can sit, drop, stay, shake, rollover and is toilet trained. The only complaints that i have now is that he will always nip at my hands and jumping on people... i think its his way of asking for treats. He's slowly getting that jumping and nipping is not acceptable.

He's still very young at 12 weeks but i'm thinking of attending an obedience school. He still has his last vaccination to go so i'm starting my search now. The main focus will be obedience, and seeing how he goes i might then go for other specialised training.

The only recommendation i have is the RSPCA from the puppy pre-school, and its just 5 mins away from where i live. Are there any other classes offered here in perth that is north of the river?

Thanks

alvin

Northern Suburbs Dog Club is not far from you, I used to go from Embleton and I now drive there from Ellenbrook. They do the junior classes on a sunday morning at 09h00 and the trialling classes at 10h30. Any other questions just send me a PM, Northern Suburbs is one of the biggest clubs in Perth.

Edited to add that at our club they do puppy obedience

Thanks for the recommendation.

I just had a quick look at the Northern Suburb website and its definitely near where i live. I'll pop down this weekend to have a look.

They have a members competition this weekend so it would be nice for you to watch - just go up to the van that will be parked on the field and they will answer and questions that you have, we wont be there this weekend as I am going to watch a retrieving trial.

  • 4 weeks later...

I went to Northern Suburbs Dog Club on Saturday, singned up as a member and attended the orientation class. There sure is alot of people and dogs! Its a good place for milo to get used to that many people and dogs around. He did pretty well for his first time out. I'm looking forward to the next session. Thanks for recommending, Mas.

No worries, I enjoy our club and if you ask the instructor for extra help etc they are only too happy to give advise and help you. There is no class on sunday due to an agility trial, I am stewarding and its a lot of fun to watch.
