Do Dogs "see" Things That We Don't?

Friend's brother died a couple of months ago. Friend is preparing the house for sale. I went with her, and was sitting in the lounge. She was in the kitchen. The dog which was lying beside my feet, stood up and looked towards the back door.

The back door then closed.

No wind that we could discern.

Dog lay down again, nothing else happened

It's interesting though, I've also heard of dogs knowing when a pregnant woman is about to go into labour..

Some can identify the prestages of epilepsy or diabetic crises too.. can probably detect very subtle changes in smell do to adrenal or other changes I reckon.
