Kal had giardia when I adopted her (unbeknowns to me). She had mucous surrounding her poo too. The mucous was, in her case, the result of the irritation to her stomach/intestine the giardia parasite were causing.

Doesn't mean it's giardia, but the mucous might be a symptom of some other sort of stomach/intenstinal irritation, so it could be worthwhile having it checked out, particularly if it's appearing regularly.

I have been checking their poos and Leela has been eating some carpet, sticks, bugs and insects, rocks, and a few other foreign objects. She is a twit I swear!

Dogs with mucousy poos is usually from eating something that takes a bit of working through the intestines. The intestines will produce mucous to push everything through nicely.

My guys get this when they have had a heavy chicken neck meal. Lots of bones, therefore the intestines have to work harder.

If its for every poo and there is bloody, then this is a sign of something that a vet needs to check out.
