Undiagnosed Lameness - Getting Desperate

I just thought I would update on how yesterday went...

Well there is a shadow in Busta's scapula and extra fluid in the shoulder joint. The vet said the shadow could either be a tendon partially torn off the bone or the start of bone cancer. Busta was given a cortisone injection into the shoulder joint and so far that appears to have given him some relief. For the first time in a couple of months he is able to tuck his leg in under his body when he sleeps :-) At this point we are not sure what will happen in the long term but for now it looks like we have been able to get on top of the pain which is a huge relief.

Thanks for all the suggestions in this thread, it has been an incredibly frustrating couple of months!

glad they've finally pinpointed where the problem is. Did the vets ever explore his shoulder early on, when they were trying to work out where the pain was? I often find vets haven't got a clue with soft tissue or movement related injuries. Often "muscle men", the blokes who work on greyhounds are better for diagnosing this type of thing.

Good luck anyway.
