ABC radio reported this morning that a 13 yr old Cocker Spaniel named Timmy has had his doggie dementia reversed thanks to research at Sydney University's Mind & Brain Institute. Needed 2 operations, first to havest stem cells & second to inject the developed stem cells into the memory part of the brain. Not only might this lead to the treatment becoming an option for dogs, but it also focused on the most common type of dementia in humans.
