  1. Whitening mixed with enough glycerine to make a paste works very well. Once applied to the ear tip adding some extra whitening to set it finishes the job nicely.
  2. Wow. A lot of thought and knowledge behind some of these suggestions. Much appreciated.
  3. I knew that I would get some great ideas. Thanks for your efforts.
  4. Over the years I have read plenty of threads on naming dogs so I am asking the creative people out there for call names the next generation of a surfing brand theme. The obvious ones have been used along the way (Roxy, Billie (Billabong), Maui, Mango, Mambo and probably a couple more that I have called puppies that have been sold into loving pet homes. So I am stuck and would love some suggestions for the latest baby girl.
  5. I am a Gladstone local and second the Agnes Water/1770 idea as the best option. It might be worth knowing that Canoe Point at Tannum Sands is an excellent off lead dog park, only a 25 minute drive south of Gladstone so good for a morning or afternoon walk. It is quite popular with locals, particularly on the weekends, but spacious so that you can manage interactions (or avoid them if preferred) without too many problems. At this time of the year you can head down there mid morning during the week and pretty much have the place to yourself but still have cool enough weather for your canine companion not to get too hot. It is a pretty special spot.
  6. Not if you want them to be the same ever again! Mum decided to put three of mine into the dishwasher one evening and the blue rubber softened and has stayed soft. They can still be used but leave rubber skid marks on the bench and floor. Oops.
  7. The shows for Gladstone Kennel Club, this weekend the 26th and 27th have been postponed
  8. I heard a rumour that Black Hawk was going to add a Turkey based variety to the range as an alternative to Lamb. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this information?
  9. Thanks emilee. Off to order now Got goat's milk from the neighbour's goats so it was fresh but no idea what sort they are. I know that there is an enormous amount of debate over what is the best food for dogs at every stage of their life but I thought that I would post to say that I am a week and a bit into feeding two tiny puppies which I started on Woombaroo and then changed to the homemade formula. My guys were 153g and 114g respectively and the smaller pup dropped to 104g before I changed to the homemade formula and they have now both doubled their birth weight in the week and getting stronger by the day. I am in no way criticising the Woombaroo but when I tasted it it tasted bitter and the pups weren't particularly keen. Initially I was feeding the smaller of my pups 3mL every 2 to 3 hours and now she is up to 8 - 10mL every four hours. I find the management of tiny puppies very emotionally draining and far prefer it when I simply have to sit at the side of the whelping box and watch the mum do all of the hard work! Hopefully I am going to win this particular battle though. That is really strange Teak - did you check the use by date, I found the Wombaroo quite sweet and the pups raised on it really thrived. I used to like the Biolac but not so much now as it is bright yellow and smells highly of Vitamin B I had the same thought but the box's use by date is Aug '12 so all good on that front.

  11. I checked out BCF in Gladstone (Qld) but they weren't on special there, unfortunately.
