  1. Last year we fostered Petey and Stella and when they went to their new homes I swore I'd never foster again. Our own four dogs are enough work as it is! I guess I forgot that resolution cause after doing their adoption photos at 6wks I offered to take on four puppies for Fetching Dogs

The first week was full on, but we have a routine now so it's getting easier and I'm starting to enjoy their cuteness as opposed to hating their pooh

  2. bought! would love the photoshoot or the dog bed!

just a thought - could you post the link at the top of your post too for easy access? I wasn't too fussed on what the prizes were but happy to donate (though I do love the range of great prizes!).

Will be passing the link on...

    Done :)

Umm, not trying to be difficult, but you may want to clarify the tax deductible donation side, the ato specifies it isn't a donation if you receive something for it, such as a raffle ticket, pen etc, pretty sure people here don't care, just don't want you guys to be dragged over the coals by the ato

    http://www.ato.gov.au/individuals/content.aspx?menuid=0&doc=/content/00288728.htm&page=47

Yes I do know what I'm talking about, I just suggest clarifying your wording, professionally, I have seen charities lose their tax deductible status for things like this (if the ato has it in for them to start with usually)

    Ruth

(all you need is to remove the word donation and change it for something else and separate it from the regular donations on your website so it isn't listed as a donation, or just ignore it and hope you don't get audited)

The wording has now been changed, thanks.

  3. Firstly, huge thanks to Troy for giving permission to post this. Secondly, I posted in general because I thought more people would see it here than in the rescue section. If it needs to be moved, please go ahead.

Staffy Rescue is a registered animal welfare charity committed to trying to save and rehome as many Staffordshire Bull Terriers and larger bull breed dogs as possible. They are currently having to re-locate their rescue shelter and all the money raised from this fundraiser is going towards rebuilding Staffy Rescue so they can continuing saving these beautiful dogs from death row in the pounds across NSW.

Angel, Chopper and Trixie are all ex-Staffy Rescue dogs, so organising this fundraiser is our way of giving back.

    How much?

$5 buys one number, a $20 buys five numbers

    :thanks:

Awww poor Trixie, hope she is on the mend!

Yeah, she's fine again. Until the next time. There's always something with her!!

  5. Beautiful photos as always but there is more....

Somehow they show your love for them - not sure I know how to express this in words.

I think they are super special.

Thanks! I am a bit in love with my dogs <3

    Beautiful photos Ruth!

You have such a gorgeous pack!

    Thanks :)

    Gorgeous!

I wanna see more family portraits and more of Trixie girl!

I don't have any more than what I posted on Bruno's page! Trixie hurt her leg running on the beach so I didn't want to make her pose for photos after that. She was feeling a bit sorry for herself.

God Bruno is such a funny monkey. The seaweed photos are hilarious!

Gorgeous photos of a gorgeous crew. :)

    Thanks :)

Totally awesome shots of adorable dogs...

    Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for looking!

So very lovely. I always love seeing your photos. Happy Gotcha Day Bruno!!

    :thanks:

Such gorgeous shots as always. I'm another creepy lurker who is a bit obsessed with your photography.

I was actually at a gig on Saturday night and during a crap band, was flicking through facebook (or maybe it was DOL actually).. stumbled across that 'family portrait' and proceeded to show it to everyone there. So a bunch of Clagg fans in Melbourne love your dogs too

    That's funny!

Great photos, the seaweed ones are awesome

Thanks for sharing, always love the photos of your pack - well any photo you take really

    Thanks!

Just beautiful pic Ruth, looks like a great time was had by all! Special love of the seaweed killer!

Yeah, he's definitely a special one!

  6. What will it take to get the message out en masse to pet owners in Victoria that the laws as they stand do nothing to protect the community?

How many innocent dogs and their owners need to be blindsided by these laws before we stand up as one to say 'enough!'

How do we take it BEYOND the breed and raise awareness that even if you don't own a PitBull these laws can still impact you? Too many dog owners out there just see it as a PitBull thing, and, as we know from reading the legislation, it is far from that.

Unless dog owners stand in one united group, we will watch innocent dogs die for time to come.

I applaud the AVA for taking a courageous stand, and I will be supporting them every step of the way.

RIP Kooda & Bear, your loss will be felt by many.

    Well said

  7. When all his energy was expended he did some lovely posing while the sun set.

Back at the house Angel and Chopper took their sentinel duties at the window very seriously.

    Bruno, not so much!

    ruthlessphotos-6169.jpg

It would have been wrong to leave without a photo on the terrible 60s carpet.

    ruthlessphotos_gotcha_weekend_06.jpg

I also took the opportunity to finally take a family portrait. Bruno decided everyone was being all too serious for his liking, but Chopper didn't break his pose. What a champion!

If you want to see more photos from our trip you can check out the whole album on Bruno's page here.

  8. It's been ages since we've had time away with the dogs [or without them for that matter] so when I found out that a holiday rental we've been to before down the South Coast was available for the Queen's birthday long weekend I didn't hesitate to book it. It's a long drive - especially if you go the wrong way like we did - but it's worth it. After 6+ hours in the car the dogs were ready to burn off some energy, so before going to buy groceries we gave them a big runaround in the garden. It was bright but overcast. Perfect photography conditions!

Saturday marked a year since Bruno joined our pack so he had a special "Gotcha Day" outing to the beach. As soon as his leash was unclipped he went about "killing" every bit of seaweed in his path. It was beyond ridiculous to watch - he's such a clown!

As soon as he'd removed any potential threat from the seaweed he decided to play with his favourite Cuz toy.

  9. One a day is probably plenty. On the days we feed frames that's all ours get. I wouldn't necessarily say ours are active. They get a 30-60 minute walk every day but the rest of the time is spent mostly indoors snoozing.

My OH did some research and said they're full of nutrition and you shouldn't need to supplement them. I know breeders that feed frames and nothing else whose dogs look great.

  10. Yeah, we "lost" Angel twice :o Both times we were having parties so people were coming and going. The first time she'd been shut in the garage, it didn't take too long to find her. The second time was a daytime affair and she had tunneled under the deck to keep cool. Took ages to find her cause she knew she wasn't allowed to do that so when we eventually found her she pretended she was stuck so she wouldn't get in trouble! OH was about to dismantle the deck when I made everyone go inside and she came out by herself. Brat

  11. When we had Ivan the Husky with three bull breeds I got the "strange combination" comment quite regularly. I guess they are very different, but I've seen others with the same combo, so it's not that uncommon.

Now that I walk four bull breeds I get at least one of these on every walk:

    You've got your hands full

    Are you a dog walker

    Do they fight

    Are they related

And my favourite... How did you get them all to walk so nicely :D
