  1. ...

I had my entire male asleep next to me on the bean bag, he started to twitch a bit then it became rhythmic. Pulled back the blanket and he had ejaculated and was still asleep.

My bitch was in season but was at my kennels not at the house.

LOL ejaculation can happen at the most awkward times - never forget the look on a friend's face as she was giving a last minute grooming polish up to her dog ringside on top of the trolley and he suddenly ejaculated all over the trolley!!! "I hardly even touched it!" she said, face flaming as red as a beetroot! laugh.gif

Sorry slightly OT but had to share that memory!

    Hahaha

  2. Daire had that a few times. i just lubed it up and put it back in.

I will admit to calling a friend hysterical about it and when she got up from the floor from     at me she suggested good ole ky jelly to get it back in. Then had to get up off the floor from my reaction to having to lube him up to get it back in the sheath :o

The things we do for our dogs

  3. They dont wear suits at GSD specialties either. I mean why would you when you are doing a hell of a lot more running/walking/moving at a specialty than a couple of laps around a small all breeds ring :)

I suppose really at the end of the day, judging is more in depth at a specialty.

Both breeds are made to move a lot more than what is done in an all breeds ring. The rings are larger, with GSDS and sometimes rotts, the dogs are made to walk, gait and fast gait, showing all speeds of movement.

They also are expected to be fit, and fitness can certainly change placings, and the all breeds ring really cant show that to the same extent.

Each dog is given an individual - similar to the AB ring, however far more in depth.

The critiques are written down and the judge does an thorough assessment of the dogs.

Usually once the dogs are critiqued, they are bought back into the ring and do a lap or two so that the judge can check what they have written with the critiques re the order the dogs should be in. Then they put them in the order that they believe they should be in and work them.

With GSDS, they are worked and changes are made and they are placed from 1st to last dog in the class, either top 6 or 10 are on the pegs.

With rotts they are worked but the judge removes dogs from last until there are the last 6-8 left in the ring and then works them down to 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1.

There are only 6 on the pegs with rotts.

    Same same but different IMO

I enjoy both types of specialties

Hope i have helped and not confused you

  4. I think I'm still in shock! My two home bred babies took three of three baby in groups on offer at Durack over the weekend! My Girl Asalei Keepin Up Appearances was Baby in Group and Baby in Show on Saturday night and her brother, Asalei Finders Keepers was Baby in Group at the Open Show and Baby In Group at the Champ show on Sunday!

In addition to this, their sire, and my rising star from last year, also achieved his Title!

What a weekend :) They all did SO well and I'm so proud of them!

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

  5. He's already quite enamored with my slippers and everything he can get his little gob on, but if we can keep up such consistent wins with the wees that's a good start.

I feel like I might be interrupting his wee with the 'do your wee' command. Should I be asking that after? Everything I've read says as the behaviour you want is happening you give the command, and then treat after. He tends to stop when I ask for the wee to occur. But I guess it makes sure he needs to go an hour later when I take him out again....IDK.

Sorry to butt in - Gus is gorgeous by the way - i always take my puppies out and say 'do wees' before they are doing anything, then once they start i am quiet and when they are finished i say 'yay good wees'

it works for me and mine, and all mine will go to the loo on command, i say 'do wees' and they go and do a wee

  6. Lots of tin and wood, not much shade , the dogs are sitting under the sheds on stilts to get out of the sun, there are no beds inside them from one view.

The little kennels look aweful, not much protection from the elements in them.

I see its all just freshly mowed, they clearly don't have a trimmer, wonder what it normally looks like.

The house looks odd, like its not lived in, almost looks like a holiday let.

I thought that same about the house.

Like it is there but not used.

Maybe they dont live on the property? they only have the 'breeders' there?

  7. Ditch the black hawk. You shouldn't have to feed 8 cups a day of any dry food. I feed porridge and/or lamb flaps for weight gain.

    Ditch the blackhawk

Maybe try a performance food like Artemis Power.

Add fatty beef or lamb to their meals

8 cups a day is HUGE!

My guys get 2 cups of artemis plus about 400grams of fatty beef from the meatworks in Seymour.

If Daire is looking thin and he can i will up the dry by about 1/2 a cup

Also feed them breakfast, either a lamb flap or a couple of chicken frames :)

  8. When my ex and i split there was no discyssion who would have them.

    I bought them

    I paid for them

Their vet care and food and i was the one who looked after them. Including His dog.

However my ex didnt want any of the pets.

Why does your ex want the dog? Because he genuinely does or because he is being spiteful?

If he really does maybre he should het one. If beingg spiteful fight for them

  9. I actually find the soft crates get hotter then the usual metal ones or trolleys.

Soft crates are much hotter for our dogs. Don't use them over summer at all.

    Agree with you both

They are far hotter because of the material Saff.

Even with the sides up so the mesh can have the breeze through it.

They are better for cooler weather.

For me, i hate the heat, so if i can stay home when it is over 30-35 i will.

I would much prefer to be in air conditioned comfort than at a show under a gazebo and sweltering

2 of my dogs cope well with the heat but Eva doesnt, so she wont be shown much if at all over summer or the warmer weather.

We use cool coats and cool mats to keepe the dogs cool and i also have been known to use the frozen esky blocks under a dog bed to help cool the dogs as well
