Lokelani, thankyou for your words. It emans heap sto know that i have people that know how i feel. I am trying not to blame myself but it is hard. I miss him adn he left a big hole in me. I feel empty although i have the other 2, but the Barker spot is empty.
  2. My suggestion is speak to the breeder asap. They should have some reccommendations for your sister.

Tonight when i got home, i did the usual thing. Ignore the dogs for 20 minutes and then went and let them in. Mitchi and Hunta came to the back door but no Barks. VERY unusual. Went outside was calling and calling. Called hubby to bring me the torch and for him to go out the front as Hunta was filthy - really muddy. Start looking around the yard, thinking he has dug himself out, then i saw him. Laying down on his side. I just started screaming 'no, oh my god he is dead'. While i am screaming i am looking down and touching him to see if he is still breathing. I start calling my hubbywho had started to run to me when he heard th enoise i was making. He was stone cold, wet and dead. His collar had dug into his neck. I thought he had been caught on a chair next to him that was turned over. When we finally went inside and were checking the other 2 to make sure they were ok, we found Hunta has swollena dn bruised lips/gums/jowls. THey have been playing and she has gotten caught, he has choked to death and she has been stuck for a time. A while as she is very swollen and red. I will eb taking her tio the vet tomorrow to maek sure that there is no long lasting damage. I cannot believe that me putting their collars on because their council registration tags came caused Barks to die. He was 16months old. He was my boy, my good boy. F&^k, i cannot believe he is gone. WHat the F&*K did i do for him to die like this,. My poor poor boy, he would have been so scared.
  10. Tangwyn, thanks heaps. It makes it better just knowing others have gone through this. As she is an energetic dog, i don;t want to just keep her at home all the time. So i will take her places but not force the issue.
  11. They are good, have spoken to them and i have to say i don;t really beleive them about the barking happening 'all teh time'. Very inconsistent with their stories. They wouldn;t do anything except throow a bucket of water over as per my instructions and there have been no buckets so i do not thinnk that that is happening. I don't think anythign has happened whilst i was not at home, the people surrounding us work all day as we do, so unless someone has come home and done something. But the other 2 are fine. I will keep her at home and in her 'safe' environments until she comes out the otherside of this period. HH, it would be great if any other breeder has any ideas. I have been checking her bits to see if they are swollen or changed in anyway to see if she is coming into season and no changes that i can see. Hopefully she holds off so i can get her desexed before it happens. And barks isn;t acting any different to her, Mitchi is being really nice to her. Last night Mitchi went up and snuggled with her and licked her on the nose. VErY cute considering Mitch is usually very cranky towards her. Erny we are making progress, this happened last night after i spoke to you. AND Mitch ate her dinner no probs out of my hand.!
  12. Hey, How are you? How is Seikah doing? I will give her a hug. I feel awful because she is so pathetic. She is crying and drooling adn being a BIG baby. We haev stricter rules now but this started BEFORE we implemented them. She is healthy and very responsive when she is calm, if she is scared, you get nothing as she is so focused on being frightened. Really sad to see her at training. I stepped back she was that bad, even the trainer commented.
  13. Cosmolo, the only thing that has changed is we have stopped interacting with them when we first get home, they are now ignored until they settle down, they are being fed after us now not before. Other than that nothing. Would that make a huge impact on her behaviour? Her change in behaviour started BEFORE we implemented these changes. Could she be maturing hormonally? Although her breed don;t ususally have their first season until they are 12-14 months old. I cannot think of anything else.
  14. If it doesn;t mean i am reinforcing her fear by keeping her at home, i will do that. I don;t want to harm her in any way.
  15. I think Hunta, 6.5 months is going through a fear period. She has withdrawn, is more fearful and careful around things she was fine about. At home she is now unsure of small things. We went to training in the car, adn whilst she doe snot like ht ecar, she has been getting better but she was terrified and when we got to training she shook and drooled until i sat out with her for th elast 20 minutes of the lesson. Shecalmed down and just sat curled up in my lap/legs as i sat in teh floor. I don;t want to not expose her to the usual things we do but i don;t want to hurt her and do permanant damage. Any ideas?
  16. It can;t hurt. And she will learn quick.
  17. RIP old man. Tilly, i am so sorry it was so soon. He is painfree and watching over you now.
  18. Ok. I am a total bitch. I HATE scratching at the door to come in Out is ok, cause it is usually one or two little ones to say 'i need a wee!' Hunta is a shocker at scratching the back door, she gets told UHUH, she does it again she gets a glass of water thrown at her. She is getting heaps better and now will only scratch when we get home and if i ignore her she stops.
  19. I have to say, i agree with the no furniture, no bed rule. And i WISH i had done it from day one with Mitch. We are now having issues and she is a jack russell! So Luka, follow Lillis advise, she knows what she is talking about
  20. Nutro is very good for skin conditions. You could try that or Eagle Pack Holistic. Both are fantastic. I feed my 3 a mixture of the 2, they are mixed in teh dry food tub together so they get 50/50 i would say and they look great.
  21. I was told the same 15-18 months. One more bag for your BC won;t hurt and your little one when its one.
  22. Hey, they are MY dogs!!!!!! Nah they look great, love the one of Mitchi. You have to show me how to do it so i can play too
  23. I have one in my yard. Pandii does too. Mine is around garden beds i do not want destroyed. I believe Pandii's is around her fence line as her dogs were getting out and it is extra incentive for them not to escape. Mine have been 'bitten' a couple of times and now don;t go near it.

    New Staffy Puppy

My only reccomendation is look at a super premium kibble if you are going ot feed kibble Nutro, Nutrience, Eagle Pack etc Yea around th e$100 mark for 15kg but for one pup should last 3 months or so. Break it down, $1.00 a day
  25. I have a 15mo jack called Mitchi. Have had her from 8 weeks and we also have 2 cats. I have other dogs too. Mitchi tried the cat chasing, my cats turn adn fight. 2 do 1 runs. The 2 who stand up for themselves taught Mitch not to chase. She backed down very quickly. We reinforced the cats status by growling at Mitch when she did chase them. She was sinbinned a fair bit. My cats are inside cats so there is no chance of her chasing them outise. ALthough if they do get out on the odd occasion Mitch, Barker and Hunta just want to say hi and give them a kiss. I am not sure beside, growling and sinbinning what else you can do, other than putting you jack on a lead and treating her with food treats when she is nice to the cats. Start at the basics again and work forwards. The snatching food out of my hands se did once. Was told off firmly adn has NEVER done it again. I removed the food from reach when she went to snatch, growled LOUDLY and said gentle. I kept repeating it until she was taking nicely. Now i just say gentle to remind her sometimes but she is pretty good. My only other couple of reccomendations are: *DO NOT have her/him sleep on the bed until he has learnt his place in the pack. ie BELOW you. We are having a couple of issues now that we wouldn;t have had if she had not been able to sleep in bed with us form a young age. *Crate Train, we did from day 1. Can;t reccomend it enough *Be consistent ALL THE TIME. DoNT let them get away with anything. Habits are too hard to break. Good luck
