  1. Even registered chis can have great variation in type. However as your girl doesn't have papers you can never be 100 percent sure. She is very cute and I can see how you fell in love with her, but she doesn't look to be a particularly 'typey' chihuahua. But as I said, chis that look like her can also come from two registered parents. How big/old is she? That can sometimes give some clues
  2. Dogs in santa hats are possibly the cutest thing ever! Huga i'm loving that first pic he he
  3. Naww I love christmas pups! Heres my practice run
  4. CrazyCresties I am in LOVE with Daisy!! Lol what an adorable pic, Love the outfit too
  5. One of my favourite picture of all time, its actually one of a sequence and here they are caught in the act
  6. There really is no such thing as a 'teacup' chihuahua. I'm not saying this just to keep this illusive sub-breed from you! There is no 'rare' type of coat or colour. All colours (bar merle) are acceptable, and they come in long and smooth. If a chihuahua has a deer head or long legs, it is not a separate type of chihuahua, it just isn't to standard. Just because they are small doesn't mean they are toys, they are dogs and you still need to train them!
  7. She is beautiful And as if I needed to add to my breed wish list, I would add her in a heartbeat!!
  8. Yep, mine does that as well. No mites and have had her ears checked. Its a nervous habit. She alternates between this and licking. The vet says its anxiety driven and its a soothing mechanism. I would definitely be getting her ears checked to rule this out though.
  9. Just got this in my Facebook feed if anyone is interested http://www.novafm.com.au/nova937/article_c...unds_104912?s=5 Local Perth Artist Bennett Miller is calling on all dachshund owners... He is looking for 47 sausage dogs to take part in a bizarre and joyful installation called Dachshund UN. If you have a Dachshund and are interested in being involved contact PICA on 9228 6307 or email Bennett at [email protected] to register your interest. Hurry along now though, places are filling fast!
  10. I don't take my girls to off lead parks. They are just too small and vulnerable. Its not being over protective, it's just looking after them, they could easily be injured by an over excited dog. They get plenty of exercise at other places, and I NEVER let them off lead. It's not worth the risk.
  11. Thanks I hadn't really linked it to whether my other girl was here or not, but now that I think of it I will have to pay close attention when she is back to whether the licking behaviour changes. It really is a funny thing! And she definitely derives comfort from it- I guess it might be like biting your nails? lol
  12. Thanks for your advice I guess a vet visit is in order...
