BELLA IS WALKING IM SO HAPPY!!!! They rang me this arvo and said, we think you should come down and see bella and my initial reaction was oh no whats wrong, then they said she is zooming all around the clinic. They have bandaged her right foot as she is still knuckling over a little bit but should all be better in a couple of days!!!

My dogs get them from mozzies and horsefly bites but spraying them with citronella has fixed that problem.

I went down to visit Bella this morning and the vet came and talked to me first. He said she is slowly improving and starting to push off alot more with her back legs, then we went out to see her and she was STANDING up by herself The vet turned to me in shock horror and said 'well thats the first time she has done that'. I was so happy! She tried to take a few steps but walks on her knuckles, it is such a big improvement i dont think it will be too long untill she can walk

Bella has improved with the cortisone shot, she is trying hard to move the back legs but still knuckles over with her feet when lifted up. They are giving her another shot today and have a orthapedic specialist from Brisbane visiting the clinic on Wednesday so hopefully he might have a better idea on whats going on. Edited because i couldnt spell cortisone, thanks puggles!

I have seen the xrays and have been explained with a skeleton figure on whats going on. But to get me to explain it to everyone is hard. But basically they said surgeons wouldnt touch her because of having no feelings in her feet and even if the did it would cost thousands and the chances would be extremely low for such a big dog to recover with full use of her legs. Mind you this is the worse case scenario. Hopefully she just has swelling around the nerve and the cortisone will fix it. Hopefully will know tomorrow and yes i will always get a second opinion.

She is 5 and her name is Bella, she is my foundation bitch for my kennels so im absolutly devastated.

Not looking good for my girl, she has no deep pain feeling in her feet. They have taken xrays and think it has something to do with her nerves. They have put her on cortisone to see if that helps but if she is not walking within the next 2 days i have to make the horrid decision

They are going to check her back now but said that is was highly unlikely. They are giving her blood now and are going to put her under again to see if she has any blood clots or is bleeding internally.

I had a neo bitch desexed yesterday and last night she was screaming in pain and couldnt move her back legs. She was taken to the vets late last night where they thought she may have had a reaction to the anesthetic as she was still very dopey, they kept her overnight but this morning she still cannot move her back end. Has anyone heard of this happening???

I was Sadie's foster carer and i just wanted to say she was the sweetest and smartest little pup ive ever met. She will be sadly missed. Thanks Varicool for letting us have the oppotunity to share her life.
