  7. dupilicate the layer, quick mask around the duplicated bit you want left in colour (eg, imy in the first pic) create a new layer via cut. you should have one layer with the background and another with the image you want left colour on it and one thats the original image. Make sure that the background layer is highlighted then click "image"> "adjust" > "desaturate" and whola!! your back ground should be B/W

    Oh No

    could be a grass seed...
  12. i noticed the other day that spike likes to chew his back paws... he doesnt chew very hard but it looks really odd. Makes me think of little kids sucking their thumbs. Is this hurting him at all? should i let him continue it or find something to stop it..
  13. i agree spike goes all crazy when i get home and he barks and whines at me and jumps all over the place.. so you are not alone..
  14. er... yes... so i would watch out for repeated posts... she's only 13 and she likes to post topics about things ive already asked about example... the "lump looking thing" was a grass seed which has/is being treated by antibiotics and is healing quite nicely... as for "my sisters puppy" that puppy she is refering to is spike and like i said, when he bites i tell him no and go away... unlike my brother and sister who like to stir up all three of the dogs.... *sigh*
  15. he doesnt bite that much....... and he knows that when i say "NO" and go away that play time is over...
  16. this morning while on DOL i was just sitting and spike was playing with his toys at my feet... well he suddenly went very quiet and then i heard what sounded like paper being torn... sure enough, i look down and there is spike sitting in a pile of torn paper!! I told him "NO" and took the paper away and replaced it with one of his toys.... well the naughty little dog then played with his toy for a whole of 10 seconds before getting up and getting another piece of paper - my dads bank account details!!! ;) He has also chewed upmy sisters snap test results, a few photos and the tax invoice for my camera! Any suggestionjs on how to get him to stop him from chewing on paper, especially important documents... i tell him "NO" whenever i catch him doing it but im not always around and thats usually when he does it....
  17. i feel your pain... my sisters dog fi-fi had/has a grass seed in her inner back leg and there is quite a large swelling there which is obviously very painfull for her.. i took her to the vet (despite my low bank account ) and the vet verified that it was a grass seed and gave me antibotics... my sister doesnt even care whether or not her dog gets the medication shes needs... ;) i agree with whoever mentioned the size of the hole it left... i think that the seed has come out because there is a huge hole on the absyss.. hope your parents dog feels better and you find that seed quick
  18. you could try the "keep off" citronella stuff... spike and sammy were digging massive holes in the garden and on the grass so dad put down this keep off powder stuff and apparently the cats and dogs dont like the smell so they dont go near it... hence the digging stopped..
  19. yes.. ok.. i agree with you because how is a puppy supposed to learn if you let him get away with biting etc... BUT i believe that you should be able to play and have fun with your puppy without worrying about whether you are 'training' him to do these bad things. Spike knows when to stop biting and he knows that if i say no, he will stop what he is doing. He can sit and stay and has basic training etc what harm is it going to do if i play with him and let him sit on me? my brother and sisters dogs both "played rough" when they were puppies as my brother and sister would chase them around the yard and the dogs would growl and bite their ankles but now, as adult dogs they are the most placid things you have ever seen! they do not bite or growl or anything bad for that matter... None of our dogs believe that they are the dominant "leader" and they were all played with as puppies, whether that be just sitting quietly on someones lap or running outside, nipping ankles and barking at a piece of sting that you are pulling, so why would it be wrong if i had fun with spike? my question was about him humping and how to stop him from doing it.. not about dominance! Yes i know these two things are related but it was not what i was asking about...
  20. well i didnt play with him after he did it.. and as for 'humping him back' LOL and i dont think so
  21. ok so.. the other day i was laying on my stomach on the grass and spike was playing with my feet.. biting them and growling at them etc... usually he jumps over my legs and tries to hug my legs to pin them to the ground but tonight... i started feeling something strange and i turn around and there is spike "going at it" on my leg!! i moved it away and he still did it!! he's only 11 weeks and i know its not a sexual thing at this age but is there anything i can do to get him to not hump things? will it stop when i get him desexed? just curious.. Abbey
  22. thanks for all the replies guys... spike seems ok now.. i wrapped up an ice pack and put it in his basket and he slept with his face on that most of the night... now the swelling and the yelping has gone away and he is back to himself.. there isnt any signs of blistering or anything thats associated with a burn..
