I had the opportunity of trying out PennHip when our Qld Uni was doing a comparison study between PennHip and AVA. I will never do PennHip... my dog and two other friends were so terribly lame when they left the Uni, each dog had a different score and my boy required chiro work a few times to get him back to normal, one of the dogs needed to be carried out. I know others had great results and were very happy, but I am very much against it now. No dog of mine has ever been lame after AVA scoring. Plus there is also the cost of PennHip.. it is hard enough trying to get money togther for AVA, why would I pay more for another test? I also think scores in some breeds are not getting better because people are still breeding with dogs with high scores... either because of a lack of gene pool or they believe the dog has alot to offer their breeding program. And until we test every dog in every litter like they do in some overseas countries, we are not going to get consistent scoring. Hips can also be affected environmentally. Diet, exercise and just lifestyle in general.

LOL yeah I know ! But so many people think a show dog is old at 7 she looks great and loves to be shown, so she deserves to be out there.

I decided since Phoenix (my 7 year old Grand Champion bitch) was naughty enough to not give me a litter of puppies, that I would bring her out of semi retirement and put her back in the show ring this year. Her first show back and she picks up a 15 point Best of Breed !!! Runnerup of Breed went to her son Jasper So proud of my girl, she loves showing and has a big fan club

oh if you are on a budget, I have ones which were made from towelling, just keep them wet and they are great.

YES !!!! I am sick to death of people letting their male dogs piss on my car tyres ! And letting them piss all over the bins outside the rings... and poles... people have to pack them up at the end of the day and dont need to be covered in dog piss... I never let my boys piss on anything but grass or trees when they are on leads ! I have also had them piss on my trolley !!!!

Ive shown horses and mares are never left at home when in season ! Not all mares or bitches are cows when in season, I have no change at all in my girls. And a friend of mine only ever had one mare tempermental when in season but she went to shows regardless.

Pfft I have male dogs too and I dont whinge and complain when there are girls in season around. I just deal with it. What about the stud dogs that can tell a bitch is coming in 6 weeks before she does ! Am I supposed to leave her at home 6 weeks before she comes in as well ?? Hmmm I wonder how they cope at horse shows ?? !!!

Until they change the rules. I will show my bitches in season. That is my choice. I shouldnt have my choice taken away because of someone else's problems. As I have said, there are many people happy to have a bitch in season around their males.

Yes i get why trailers are white! ;) I have seen quite a few black ones though... Maybe they have aircon to keep them cool Purple hmmm.... It would look great not sure hubby would agree!!! So i guess white it is!! You could always do the bottom half black or just black decals...
