  1. I would love to come!!, even if it is just to watch, would that be OK? pretty open on day and time, and I am also out Vicky's way (Dundas Valley) I am inexperienced and I have a 14 week old Border Collie
  2. Had a brainwave, He is a Great Dane right... he likes to go in the bathroom... SO He may soon be tall enough to squat over the loo...... ;) :swear:
  3. Ask your vet about the new Vax, I think it is called Nobivac... Helps you get them out and about earlier, less side effects too (according to my vet) They get it at ten weeks and 1 week later they are fully covered until there 12 month booster.
  4. WOW I know i should enjoy my cute little pup while she is a pup, BUT I CNT WAIT TILL SHE IS BIG ENOUGH TO DO ALL THAT! Maybe i need growth hormones
  5. I would really like to move on. So back on topic As posted we have set up a one on one puppy play date for Molly and Chloe (both fully vaccinated so it is not an issue at all) before the next Puppy Pre School, any tips on how we let these guys interact? Should it be on mutual territory? They are both quite shy initially.
  6. With the bed thing, a tip I got was to wash it in bio zet as it actually breaks down the enzyme, if not the smell may remain after it is washed (to a dogs nose) and your pup will return to its pee spot. also use vinegar on the floors for the same reason. And at your pups age I was setting an alarm every 3 hours through the night. Chloe is now three months old and if she has the zoomies she sometimes just stops mid zoom pees and then carries on , so this is also a sign to get her outside ahhh the joys of parenthood

My pup is the same! OUCH! Pigs ears are Great, Chloe whimpers while she eats them 'cute!' Get a puppy Kong too, throw some penutbutter and a handful of kibble in there 'marvellous!' Has anyone tried deterrents on things the puppy shouldn’t chew like the underlining of the new lounge... A friend of mine suggested to spray diluted Tabasco under there....?? used that method on his two staffys I also noticed some products for sale that clam to detter chewing? Do any DOLers use this as a form of correction?
  8. Hi, My gripe was not with the advice you were giving. You obviously have allot of experiance and have allot to offer us new people. maybe you could look at your delivery......
  9. Yes that is a great point, what i have found is that the puppies aren't being taught, We are being taught how to teach them but I guess puppy owner pre school does not have the same ring also thankfully there is no off leash interaction between the pups at all, obviously this isn't the case at all pup pre schools...
  10. I stand by my "shame on you" a brand new member with a brand new puppy has asked for advice. and I agree she received some wonderful advice from some very knowledgeable people, you included. But.... "anyone who advises anyone to ''get your puppy out & about to socialise it'' before it has had it's second round of vacs is a moron." "if your ''trainer'' is so damn good he/she will have no trouble socialising a puppy AFTER it has its full course of vaccinations.....if they can't.... get a ''real'' trainer.......too easy." come on who does that help?? Anyway back on topic, Chloe would be available for some one on one time before the next puppy school. This may help? Pete
  11. For the record I think that allot of long tem users have given some great advice on this subject and I have found a lot of it very helpful. I can see how my statement could have been taken generaly and I in no way mean all of you. I would also like to mention that due to the new Vax my pup was sitting in puppy school at 11 weeks fully covered. and that the vet in question takes this very seriously.
  12. If you read the entire post i think you will 1) know exactly whom I refer to and 2) See whom is actually plain rude! hint - you may see the word 'moron' feature... who are you referring to? A lot of times people think they are doing the right thing, however, a little education and experience can change their whole outlook. This statement is just plain rude! The long standing members share knowledge to help new dog owners better care for their dogs. If you think they are deserving of such insults, perhaps you should seek your dog knowledge elsewhere. Not everyone knows how to sugar coat their replies, but rest assured that all advice is offered with the best interests of all dogs at heart.
  13. Hi Uforia, Chloe cant wait to see molly at puppy pre school , and rest assured I think our trainer is the best! and our vet clinic is very reputable. Unfortunately everyone has opinions and you are bound to get different ones. I hope you don't feel too bullied by a certain know it all... know nothing... assume everything... Chloe is quite apprehensive for the first ten minutes while the staffy and the pointer are bursting out of their skin! maybe they can snuggle in the corner together. The fact that you are taking your puppy to pre school and joining forums like this shows that you are great pet owner. im very sorry that long standing members have suggested the contrary, shame on them See u next wed!
