I've opened my file, dragged a pic to "choose files" at bottom of page & when I release I get a note appear saying "can only download 1,023gb" or something like that. But it's only one pic highlighted in blue & dragged.

It sounds like the pic is too big Paul. You are getting close now!

You could open it in the Microsoft program 'Paint' which comes with Microsoft systems and reduce the pic size with that. I'm sure there are many ways to do it but that's the one I find easiest for me.

K-mart also have them, the blade type ones for $13.

Hey everyone.

I've been asked by several DOLers to provide photos of my pup Zagan.

I'm fairly new to computers & can't figure out how to download pics from phone to computer (some stupid unhelpful ad for an app appears)

So if anyone REALLY wants to see pics of Zagan (& prove he's not a figment of my imagination) the only way possible is to txt pics to someones mobile & they could download?

Just a thought, if someone has the time on their hands & help a computer dumb-dumb out it would be most appreciated :)

Hi Paul, I'm not very cluey with this stuff either but one suggestion is you could email the pics from your phone to yourself and then download them to your computer that way. Good luck!

Pick up day finally arrived for us

Everyone meet 'Jimmy' - he is so worth the wait!!

We picked him up yesterday, was a good boy travelling in the car and is settling in nicely - a lovely way to end the year!!

I'm glad you found it in time tdierikx. I don't know about your specific area but I have read in general that insect populations are and will be moving due to climate change. We already have some different issues down here in Victoria like the citrus gall wasp that has moved south when they never used to be an issue here. Maybe we might have a resident dol entomologist who might know more about this?

I've got a similar puzzling one DDD. I have recently adopted an 8 year old rescue dog who for some reason, unknown to me, doesn't like to drink from the water bowl I leave for him in the kitchen which is next to his food bowl. He prefers the one in the bathroom or the one in the laundry. I changed it from a plastic bowl to a nice glass one but he still prefers the others, one which is also plastic and the other stainless steel. Not that it is a problem but I do wonder why he does it. Maybe it as simple as he was never used to having water near his food in his previous life.

One of my Labs had severe pancreatitis and was in hospital for about 5 days too. She pulled through but had to stay off fatty food for life. Sending best wishes for your girl to recover and come home to you soon.

Can you arrange for a Worksafe Inspector to drop randomly in on the workplace? Your son doesn't need to know anything about it, so he won't feel that he has rocked the boat.

Or maybe what I think used to be called the Apprenticeship Commission of Tasmania, they might do random checks on the apprentices at work anyway? Could be worth a discreet phone call to ask whether they do. http://www.skills.tas.gov.au

If she's only had a mild case any low fat quality dry food should do. Compare fat tables on pack. It's usually the treats that trigger an attack! She's a cutie!

Advance Weight Control was one of the lowest I could find.

One of my Labs had quite serious pancreatitis Dave. She was on a special formula diet the hospital gave her for the first year (sorry but I forget the brand now) but once she improved the Advance Weight Control with 9% crude fat was ok for her and the pancreatitis never returned. But maybe we were lucky, I'd check with the vet though first though whether this could be ok for your girl.

A pair of senior Hungarian Vizslas at Lort Smith (Melbourne) are looking for a forever home together.

We are Paytas and Kata, pronounced 'Pie-tarsh' and 'Cot-oh'. We came to Lort Smith a few weeks ago and, now that our honey moon has ended at the Lort Smith resort, we are looking for our new forever home. We would love to join a family that knows about our nature and can account for our needs, which is filled with lots of love, cuddles and kisses!

We will also need an experienced owner as Paytas can be quite excited out on walks and will need some more socialisation around other pooches. I, Kata, too will need some confidence bulding around other dogs, but you may find that I am more confident with Paytas around. He gives great comforting kisses! We havent been around cats before so best if we go to home without them.

Are these two still looking for a home? If not, I wonder if anyone has contacted the Hungarian Vizsla Club of Victoria. This is what that Club says on its website under Rescue Service when dogs are needing a new home:

CONTACT the HVCV Rescue Service and we will try to match your dog with a suitable person on our waiting list, and/or work with the Rescue Services of interstate Vizsla clubs who also maintain waiting lists of potentially suitable homes.

Hi Mita, They have been adopted, presumably together. The Lort Smith only seem to have a few dogs at a time, ones that were surrendered to the hospital.

Antihistamines didn't help my dogs but I think others have had some success. There have been quite a few threads on allergies Nic if you use the search function here on dol there may be some more helpful info. Best of luck for finding a solution. I had another Labrador for 16 years before the girls and he never had any issues like that.

eta, one of my girls was put on Prednisolone for the allergy, it helped but she developed pancreatitis. The next vet said the pred may have contributed to that so I wouldn't recommend it now.
