  1. Room still available :-)

Is it normal in SA not to be told group entries or is because im intetstate. Received a map and receipt and thats it.

Dont tempt me... really wanted to go this year but OH said it was too far because I have to work on the Thursday... so didnt enter....:mad

  2. Well fabulous weekend despite being bitten on the tongue by a European Wasp when I was eating my lunch.

Great fun ticket writing with some other wonderful "coerced" DOLers.:D :D

Rebanne thanks for the wonderful setup it was great to have all the ticket writers together because we could chat while working in between sheets.

Show well run and from my perspective smooth.

Yes, agreed it was good to be all together and I learnt today not to ticket write while you are busy showing 3 different breeds - do a group when you aren't in the ring like yesterday - much easier :).

yes thank you to all the helpers  You made things so much easier for me, I really apprieated every single bit. Lots of people have no idea how big a workload it is running a show. I still have stuff to do to wrap it all up. I nearly missed my call for Group cause I was trying to help someone out.

I am off to the vets shortly with Miss Ferny to get this growth/lump/wound on her foot checked out. I think it is a benign histiocytoma but need to make sure of it.

It was a great set up - an dyes... I also learnt that you cant do three things at once... so now I know I write the cards for the groups I am not showing... and you cant write cards, show for that group and stop to judge JH and still keep up....

It was my pleasure to help Rebanne, just sorry I such a crabby old b*#@h yesterday....

  5. A great weekend... I love these shows .... they have a great atmosphere and there is a large group of locals that all attend...

Congratulations to Anne and her Greyhounds

Trisven and her baby puppy who is just gorgeous

Woodys for her Cockers' points - taking it in turns over two days for BOB

Morsha for her fur family's great deeds, on Sat she could have bought the sash shop

and my beautiful Rosie who was BOB on both days and Junior in Group on Sat....

My cabin already booked ready for next year... see you there...

  6. Not used to breed breakdowns so was not worried. :)

Breed breakdown not really useful to me either because unless there is a Brittney there I am usually first in the ring... but thought others might like it..

Really wanted some idea of how many in the ring before Gr 3....

we usually get it with our numbers but Mr Floodwaters changed everything this year...

Raining in Albury and up the mountains today... we had 25 ms from midnight last night to 8 am this morning and raining now...

Predicting clearing showers for Sat and fine sunny day Sunday

  7. no, nothing

ETA I could tell you how many greyhounds are entered though

And I could probably estimate the number of clumbers... but we are on second on both days... sleep in??? maybe till 7???

I'll knock on your door while walking the hounds

Not sure what time we will arrive tomorrow evening but by all means come for coffee

  8. hi could anybody please tell me how many entries were in the rochester show i forgot to keep my catalougue and am entering the pointscore competition for the first time

    thankyou so much again

371 - Shih Tzu Minor Puppy Bitch

  9. I have just spokent to the people with the caravan park and she tells me there is very very little damage at Adelong, they were very lucky. She says the locals are very keen for the show to go ahead and they are predicting fine weather for them....

    See you all Sunday...

  10. Thanks Wendy

Apparently at this stage the horse events are still going ahead so hopefully the dog rings are ok too.

Dog rings are a lot lower/closer to the river.

Yes dog grounds much closer to creek, and the creek was really raging .... some great shots on fb...

We also had a cabin booked in the caravan park there.... not sure that's happening either ;)

  11. Ok so I have sat and read the article, three times actually, to ensure I have absorbed every word and develop a feel for the intent....

I Personally see nothing insulting or disgusting in his comments, and believe I can also see the true intent of his piece..... I believe it is actually meant to be motivational, to all members of DogsVic and an inspiration to younger members.

I am sorry if others do not agree with me.

  12. Hi just wondering if anyone has received their March Vic Dog magazine and if they have read the "Presidents report" and if so do they take offence to the comparison being made about our "forefathers" fighting and giving their lives to fight at Gallipoli for ALL Australians freedom being put in the same context as VCA members not being willing to stand on Management Committee and ordinary VCA Committees? .

To me this is an absolute insult to those who willingly and courageously gave their lives fighting for our freedom.

HOW could any rationale human being put these 2 comparisons in the same context.

But of course maybe I am just being far too sensitive. BUT I do recall the outcry when the Swartz sticker flyer was put in a Gazette a few years ago and a lot of members were terribly upset (and rightfully so) BUT I think this would have to be the biggest insult of all, and this is coming from our President !!! and there is no denying it as the article has been submitted and signed.

Received last night but havent started to read yet... will be though tonight...

Sounds like another Faux Paus like Channel 10's the Circle....although there's was just down right bloody rude....where I am hoping this one is just an unfortunate choice of analogy
