  1. My suggestion would be to see what happens on Saturday & go from there. The boy isn't going anywhere from the sounds of things. He's resourceful & quite comfortable in his surroundings. The weather is still cool enough, so he won't be heat stressed & with more rain predicted, the stream will be fresh flowing & not still, manky & stagnant. How ever the situation works itself out, is what is meant to happen. It's no use working on a secondary plan until we see how this noosing goes I feel. Mark sounds like he knows what he's doing & he'll be much more experienced at a successful catch than us just going it alone. We're certainly giving this boy every chance ... and that's the best we can do.
  2. You know OH & I will be there, for sure. We'll get up at "sparrows", get the market over & done with & be there on time. I've come this far with the boy since I heard about him on Friday. Might as well be involved & see it through to the end. I'm pleased with this professional report. It confirms my laywoman's assessment of his physical condition, temperament & intelligence from what I've observed of him on site.
  3. I took out my treats which have a very good reputation & he was giving me the big miss. This boy isn't interested in people regardless of whether they've got food or not. On the 3 occasions I saw him, he was in pretty good nick, so I knew he was doing OK. And he certainly wasn't frightened of me. Just looked up when he saw me & sauntered up the back to wait until we left. In any event, further discussion along these lines may be moot if Mark can get him in with his Staffy, so let's see what happens when he reports in. I'd rather leave it to a professional to get this bloke in.
  4. Just spoke to Mark cause OH is too busy this morning. Mark's going out there around 10:30. He has no internet to get the photos, so did a descriptive run through of the territory with him. Had a good chat about the dog, his nature, his "kennel" etc, etc. He's got a Staffy that's really friendly, so he's going to see if that gets him in for a play. He asked about food, so told him about the pile of mushies. Sounds like if the Staffy can't get him in, he'll set a trap next to the boy's "kennel". That's all I can tell you for now folks.
  5. If you scan through the photos, you'll see a pile of commercially dumped mushrooms he has to snack on. I've spotted him on 3 consequtive days & although it was only a very brief glimpse, he looks in pretty good nick to me.
  6. Too late. Transfer done. The last thing you need to worry about right now is paying some guy on Wed. Now, let's go get that boy.
  7. Consider your $120 covered Darl. Can I do an internet transfer ? It's worth paying the money to catch this little bugger, look him in the eye & say "Wadda ya mean ya don't like my treats ?"
  8. No worries Lovey. Glad if they help out. Better than trying to constantly pull up a "visual" in your own mind & trying to describe it to other people. You can shoot them off to other people or send them a link to the thread. I hope you didn't trek through that first paddock in your usual thongs Darl. There's all sorts of "nasties" underfoot. I meant footwear Lovey, not underwear. :D

  10. No worries Chewy. Happy to help out where I can. I may have mentioned this before, but if not ..... I reckon you should go armed with some very strong binoculars to track the little guy when he leaves his "kennel". Now that we have pictures so everyone knows what I'm talking about ..... he'll make his move once he spots humans in that first paddock from the street. On the trip out there every day I've been saying a mantra "Please be there, please be there, please be there." Let's see what comes of direct contact with the people working in the area. That's all I'm able to offer for the moment peeps. I'm not good at contacting humans & I'm not really involved with White Sheppie Rescue, so it's over to the rest of you for the moment.
  11. Chewy ... as I often say .... my dogs are gradually turning me into the best human being I can possibly be.... & it's hopefully happening because I listen to them. If Spirit wasn't so beautiful & I didn't love her so much, I wouldn't have put in any effort what so ever. I've thought of Tara & Spirit being in this position constantly from Friday since I first read about the situation. If they were missing, I would hope that someone would care enough to search for my girls & return them to me. This boy as "Some 'splaining to do" though when we finally get him into care.
  12. We're slowly closing in on the little guy Sumo (hopefully). After we were finished taking photos & tramping all over the place .... including right up the back into some sort of place involving chemicals, we drove around to Barrie Road to get a good look at this trucking company. We actually determined that there was enough places for him to get on to the street & nick off if he wanted to. So for some reason, he chooses to stay.
  13. He's got some running water to drink from ... So these pics should give you all a pretty good idea of the site in real time with as much detail as I can give you all. He seems to be very settled in there. Perhaps we need to chat to the warehouse owners at the back of the site & see what their contact & interaction with the little "rascal" has been.
  14. Inside his "kennel" ... Another shot of his "kennel" .... This is how overgrown it is & he knows how to hide .... Looking back at the warehouses over the creek ... The view around his "kennel" .. You're constantly negotiating this ...
  15. OK, here we go ..... This is the paddock you enter through from street parking .... Walking through that paddock to the embankment ... At the top of the embankment. His "kennel" is in the middle of frame ... Down the embankment & looking to the left ... Down the embankment & looking to the right ... Closer view of his "kennel" with the truck containers in the background ... The mushrooms he may be snacking on .... Part of the creek ... Just to show you the height of what you have to walk through & he can hide in ..
  16. Just in the middle of posting photos Darl so everyone has a good idea of what they're up for.
  17. Just back from the site. Man, I'm getting fit from going up & down that embankment, jumping the creek & pushing my way through the growth. Well, he still there. Popped out from under his car roof "kennel" & sauntered up the back. He does seem to be very comfy there. We went up the back where the trucks are & wandered through accessible buildings. He's got some pretty good hiding places, that's for sure. Took a load of photos to show you what we're up against. PB takes ages, so don't expect me back in the next 5 minutes. :p I'm not taking my dogs out there Trishm. Too dangerous. You just don't know if/where the snakes are. I love White Sheppie Rescue, but I'm not prepared to risk my dogs to get this boy in.
  18. Yeah, you fall into muddy water up to your "VaJJ" (as Oprah calls it) & fully clothed & see how "effing" funny it is.
  19. I could say "How dumb am I ?", but we don't have time for that right now. Tease me later .... Great job B&S of sending the pics .... in case I forget later .... On that more detailed picture, those things in the centre of the picture, but slightly lower than centre are shipping containers if today's visit is still acurate. Just in front of the shipping containers & due "north" is a tall cyclone fence, which goes right to Sharps Rd. If you look at the green "grass" to the left of that, it's the creek I was talking about. The larger empty block between the buildings left of the creek is now filled with another concrete structure, leaving only that smaller gap of land shown just above it. This is were we have been gaining access & going down the embankment to the creek area. If all this makes sense, he's pretty penned in there. If the whole area wasn't over grown, we'd be able to spot him pretty easily & work on wrangling him. I'll take my camera tomorrow & get "real time" photos so you'll all know what we're up against.
  20. Sorry Darl. I just noticed the attachment to your email.
  21. Hmm, I must be doing something wrong. I'm crap with technology. It looks like I have to sign up & fiddle around with it. I thought you might just send the direct link (pretty please).
  22. Yes please. Id like to see how it compares to what I've seen in the last couple of days. [email protected]
  23. Trust me mate, I strongly doubt whether Northern will help. That's my club. If it's not one of their members, they're not %ed. Harsh but fair. Just so you don't get your hopes up.
