  1. Yes obviously we will do what we have to but want to minimise costs as much as possible which is why we were looking for some clues. Full blood work was done. Electrolytes - sorry don't know anything about them - so testing is for electrolytes? This is a dog that hasn't had any vet attention for at least 4 mths so am presuming it is a recent problem or he would be dead.
  2. We have an 8 year old 17 kg working dog cross who seems in good general health. He has been out of the pound about 7 weeks. It seems about every 12 to 14 days he gets really flat, vomiting, won't drink, if left just gets worse. He has been on the drip at vets 3 times. Tested for pancreatitis. After first attack put on a boiled chicken and rice diet. Eats dirt sometimes. No poisonous plants, anything around. Living with other dogs, all of whom are fine. Any one with any suggestions would be great. Next step vet has suggested are xrays.
  3. thanks for the advice - I will check how the malaseb is being applied, and begin looking at diet as well. Peeing may be disorientation as she has only been in her new home a few days, but will check it out if it keeps happening.
  4. we have an older blind dog in care who is scratching non stop. The vet diagnosed a yeast infection and said washing with Malaseb should clear it up. Doesn't seem to be improving at all. Even though she has been vet checked as healthy she has also started peeing inside and drinking more. I dont' know if the two are related. She is also living with a bird and I was thinking maybe bird mites but vet said definitely a yeast infection. Does anyone have any suggestions.
  5. yes, I had a woman called pia come to fix my dog's shoulder problem, which she did and it's never come back. Let me try to find it, it was a few years ago. She came to my house in the south-eastern suburbs and was recommend by the naturopathic vet Ann Nevill in South Road.
  6. I've had a request from people who seem really nice who want a dog to run 4 kms with. Where can I get information on how good or bad this is for a dog, what sort of dog, what are the signs of a dog being run too far? At what age could a dog start running this sort of distances without damaging anything. One vet says a year before any extended exercise.
  7. just going back a bit, how come you can buy parvo vaccine online, and is that the same as at the vets. I thought all these vaccinations were only available and administered by vets.
