Some people are very results driven, and focused at shows. I have dealt with a couple of breeders who were delightful, helpful over and above what could be expected, loved to educate --- but not the most helpful people at shows. I went to shows with one of them, and quickly learned to keep my mouth shut. Before the class, the mind was on preparing the dogs, afterwards - particularly if the results were not as good as expected - the mind was not going to be on anyone enquiring. They believed shows were for showing dogs. Enquiries would be dealt with perfunctorarily - and sometimes by me!! I think people thought I was the kennel hand. As a result I am always happy to talk to people at shows. But not everyone is I know some people will be very miffed if the do not win and pack up in a huff. JulesP I love talking to the GP at shows. IMO its where the dogs can be seen and discussed. In fact I am having a future puppy buyer catch up tomorrow and have a puppy fix with our new girl.

All breeders I know will remove rear dew claws. But briards must have them as part of the standard. I have seen a horrible result because a rear dew claw being torn.

I am surprised at the results given that so many people had negative experiences in the other thread that was nuked. I find it rather amazing that people will not treat inquires at a show with respect, particularly if you are in group1 and you have won you will sitting around for hours. :D :p :D :p Sure before you you go in the ring is busy but you can politely say if you would like to stand there and watch I will talk to you in xxx minutes.

I ripped the Classic off by $1 as well so did not numbers. But no Show no $1.

thats ok Weisnjac I found out I owe $2.00 but I also found out my no's, I think a mistake has been made when did a WHIPPET turned into a GSD. my Whippet no is smaked bang in the middle of the GSD no's oh well just have to get there a bit earlier to fix the problem with the club :( :(

As a "business" I am way in the red. I reply to all emails as soon as I see them. Maybe 2 days. I now have a website and I ask the emailer to go to it and fill out the expression of interest form. This I have done twice in the last fortnight and neither have done it. It was unfortunate that that other thread was nuked because it had some very good points in it. Breeders not replying to emails sends the puppy inquirer/buyer in to the arms of the puppy farmer.

I spoke to the Bendigo bank on Friday and they have not heard of cheques being phased out.

Funny about that but what I observed at Bairnsdale its MORE paper work. But I am sure the program could be changed. EFTypos

It was frustrating to have been up so early and not go, luckily we had not left. But the safety of everyone must be considered. I miffed dog all bathed and nowhere to go. ;) :thumbsup: 2 clean puppies.
