Cleo is feeding her new pups and staying with them but still not toileting them.

We free camped in the horse area 3 years ago. :( :) Missymoo had her 1 man tent. BBJ and I slept in Missymoos Gazebo and 2 other friends slept on the back seat of their cars. During the night the wind picked up and we had to hold the gazebo down as we could not get the pegs well into the hard ground. :laugh:

not sure how right the info is - i thought a DOLer had the babies? I have SMSed her, but no reply ;) Teebs Zed_N_Q and Shelly have the pups. They are all good. Talked to them on Saturday.

What was the deformity??

Pups have been taken from mum. My girl is fostering them.

A call when out for foster mum for 5 10 day old pups on ANZ Cavs List. My girls pups where 6 weeks on Friday. They had started climbing out of the whelping box so I penned them. They had not taken to well to solids so I was going to separate Mum any way to see if it improved. The two of them had been using 4 back boobs so lots of milk. Last night they lost a little bit of weight. Not keen on the solids but boy did they take to it this morning. :p ;) Mum has accepted her new pups but was not cleaning them. Hopefully she will do that today.

I have loaned my girl to a breeder whose girl on day 10 developed eclampsia. The treating vet said to wean the pups because she will get it again. This lady was giving Troy calcium but putting it in the food and mum was not eating. I have always used Sandos and give it 5 mls twice a day for 10 days. (Cavaliers) I feethat if the mum has been treated and continues to be given the calcium there is no need to wean the pups. This aldy was also giving the mum to be puppy food and then she was told that this would negate the calcium intake.

Fantastic that you could collect and look after the pups. Z_N_Q. I was thinking when Bulldust posted about the water that she had pups.

After joining DOL BBJ and I got back into showing. DOL has made me a more responsible breeder. Met many DOLers in person and some have become good friends. A place to talk unrestricted about dogs. Enjoy OffTopic. Form a rescue group. Troy.

I don't take my Mums away full-time at all so the babies can try and grab a drink if they are out running around and Mum gets off the lounge. Boots was just starting to naturally dry up - a few more days and I think we would have been to late. As it is Boots has definitely starting producing more milk in the last 48hrs again so the collies are getting a good amount now and I don't have to top them up very often. I was thinking of doing back-to-back matings with Boots but will not now as this will take a drain on her system. I do not remove my pups either I let mum pull the pin. :rofl: :laugh:

Thats great that she still has enough milk. Mind you with only 2 pups and them using about 4 boobs, Cleo could take on some too.
