  1. We still have some proplan puppy kibble that every now and again we feed him as treats (ie.throw the kibble on the ground and he runs and finds it.) I have bought some apple cider vinegar and starting to put it in his water once a day. (thanks DOL!) His eye gunk has been green once, then i started with the tea and its not been green again. (thank DOL!)
  2. beagle, tri colour, male desexed.
  3. Hi Everyone, I'm starting to develop a bit of a complex about Charlies health. He has eye gunk. I wipe it away with cold black tea and it seems to soothe him. It doesnt stop it coming back though. He seems to be prone to ear infections - which get vet treated. Ive started noticing Charlie scratching at his mouth, and he shakes his head a fair bit. I know the shaking can be attributed to his ears. Charlie gets bathed in Aloveen once every 3 weeks or so by Alan, our hydrobath guy. Sometimes if he has gone and gotten really dirty I will give him one in between, again only with aloveen. He eats mainly raw, necks, hearts, tail etc. Has preservitive free liver treats. Our vet has said that he has sensitive skin, lots of pink bits. We have a sensitve skin suncream for him. vet also says he has a bit of hayfever type thing. I want to get this right for him. I want to do the right thing for him Where am I going wrong?
  4. I agree - take the dog back if you are in a position to, and pay for the surgery. anything else is unfair. in saying that, id probably pay for it anyway cos im a sucker
  5. he is ten months old. ok...maybe he has lost them and we just havent noticed. obviously didnt bother him!
  6. And now I'm removing the thought of joining a club - ever. I couldnt contain my temper if someone touched Charlie inappropriatly. I have screamed blue murder at my sister before for grabbing him agressivley by the scruff - let alone a stranger...! These stories are devastating. These people are meant to be professionals.
  7. And he sure is back to his old self tonight....... *sigh* Love my Charlie :-)
  8. seconda vita second life in italian...... *shrug* just a though. lovely thing you are doing xo
  9. I dont have any advice to offer at all Im sorry, just wanted to send you big huggy vibes - I know how awful it is to see them uncomfortable/in pain and have nothing to do to help. Snuggles to your beautiful little baby beagle too xo
  10. We are normally vigilant about keeping food away from Charlie This time however, OH is on night shift and his head was in the clouds. He was wonderful though, he left work as soon as I called him and bundled us into the car and got us there in record time. Is wasnt anything in the lasagne, it was the amount that he ate. He is a little beagle really, only about 11kgs - so eating that much obviously wasnt a good move. I cannot believe how awake and focused i was! At the time I left work, he hadnt pooed, so hopefully when I get home he will have. If he hasnt, does anyone have any ideas about what could help the little guy along? Thanks all, for your kindness and caring xo
  11. He is ok. Lasagne. *sigh* Injections for nasea and pain. He has slept. Stomache starting to reduce in size. Wonderful experiance and St Lucia UQ. Excellent staff. Gotta get myself together for work - thank goodness for afternoon shift. xo
  12. heading to vet emergency. possible bloat. fingers crossed.
  13. Ok, so Charlie has never been a slobber dog, only very slightly....now, all of a sudden he is MAJOR slobber dog! I mean - I wrung out my pillow case - soaking wet! The flat sheet where he was lying - soaking wet - dribbling out his mouth like you've never seen it before - he seems FINE otherwise - whats the go..........? Edited to add - this was even before he stole the lasagne....... Ten month old male desexed beagle feeding mainly raw.
  14. :-) Isabel made Charlies coat!!! Will post pics as soon as possible - Have been showing the girls at work and everyone loves it!
  15. I recieved Charlies oilskin coat today, from the link Sway put up. It. Is. Beautiful. I will get some pics up soon, but Im so impressed with the workmanship. Its a little big for Charlie but Im expecting him to grow a little more so it wont be a problem. He looks so cute, and he will definitly be warm and dry when we go camping. Very very very impressed.
  16. Charlie wont toilet outside if its raining....Except he has no issues going for a walk, with collar and lead, when its bucketing down.
  17. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh she is soooo beautiful - trade you one beagle for one newfoundland??? lol and charlie loves fruit, specially rockmelon, orange and apple. Only for treats though!
  18. I am so sorry this has happened........so happy you have been able to save the pup - can she be reported, or blacklisted somehow? Jacqui
  19. Oilskin coat seller has already confirmed postage of the coat, and provided me with a reference no to track if necessary. Very Very impressed!!
  20. I was thinking that too :D Poor sally, poor pup, poor mum - so stressful for all :D
  21. I recall trying to get some pjs last year and found kickatinalong to be unresponsive to emails. Hope you get a good response If not, I'm sure DoLers can and will help. And Ive only just made it to OT and didnt realise people made and sold their own here. If I had I would have gone there first I do prefer to keep business between those I am affiliated with first.....:(Sowwy all you awesome sewy crafty people ~ Jac ;)
