  1. Great question... I was curious too. Hehehe you'd be surprised how many people ask They are fluffy all over and if you leave them in full coat they look like miniature bearded collies apparently I need to double check how old they are when they get their first clip but it's between 3 and 5 weeks, but first clip you just do their bums... later on you clip the bit of their forelegs from their elbow to a little above their joint and their feet I can't wait to shave their wee little bums, they look disgustingly cute after their first clip. Thanks for explaining that I can't wait to see them clipped...they must be so cute like that! Please share a pick ot 2 of them I am glad lots of people ask you! now i don't feel so silly! LOL
  2. LOTG....this may be very sily indeed but your puppies look fluffy, do you shave the back ends of them or are they like the cresteds and some are hairless and others not? They are gorgeous just the same!
  3. Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my boy and babies LOVING the photos and video of the puppies! So adorable... Your pups are gorgeous Merrirose!
  4. This is a couple pics of dad :D This one isn't the best but its the most current until i can get a few more of him at the shows...lol
  5. Thank you Merrirose :D I think they are beautiful! The black & white parti is definately staying as it is a male and i may be running on the other male as he is pure black. Their father is actually one of my boys, Chessmen Cruse Control, He is fawn with white trim. I normally wouldn't use a dog so yound (he was only 15 months old) but he is not far off his title and my girl is about to be 6. So it was do or never have any! I won't breed her after 6 years of age. So fingers crossed we have some real specials in this litter!
  6. Thank you so much Sway for having Troy pinning this....it has saved the life of one of my babies. I lost a greyhound pup from this but hadn't read about this on here (a few years ago now) and i read about it on here later and it saved one of my whippet pups. Not saying all cases are the same but when my pup when rock hard i remembered this and made some very strong sugar water and added it to his milk and he never did it afterwards. ETA: pup was only 24 hours old
  7. Thanks everyone for the lovely comments I think they are gorgeous too! I agree with you Labs26....I am hoping she is show quality as i would LOVE to be keeping her!
  8. So sorry to hear that you have lost two babies Lets hope all of our other babies grow to be strong survivors! Here is a photo of my little ones :D
  9. with my pups the red fawn & white girl has more "colour" than white but has white on the back so she is parti coloured. the girl that is white & blue fawn is the oppisite.....she has more of the white than the blue fawn the colour in front is the colour the pup has most of on its body. I will be putting photos up tomorrow hopefully....
  10. Congratulations Merrirose on your babies, so sorry about the one you lost RIP pretty girl
  11. Thank goodness it looks like the final count is 11.... 1 black boy 1 black girl 1 blue girl 2 black & white parti boys (1 stillborn) 1 red fawn girl 1 red fawn boy (stillborn) 1 blue fawn boy 1 blue fawn girl 1 white & blue fawn parti girl 1 red fawn & white Parti girl RIP my little precious boys who didn't make it
  12. yes, and for that i am thankful I just hope and pray they don't have as many babies as their mother!!!!!! ETA: Now i know i can't spell!
  13. I know This is her last litter and she will be de-sexed after this to just retire to the couch!
  14. Good Luck Merrirose! Looks like our pups will share a birthday! She now has 9 living pups.....we have lost 2 boys and by the looks of her she has at least one more to come! I can't believe that she is going to have 12 puppies!!!! I only wanted 8..... once i know we are finished i will post some photos
  15. We started Labour at 4:30am this morning! She has had 9 so far and may have another 1 or 2 in there... Beautiful babies so far! Black, Black & White, Blue Fawn, White & Blue Fawn and Blue! Black & White boy was still born RIP little man... ETA: I can't spell
  16. Good Luck Oakway! will be exciting to see her once she gets in the country and out to the shows.
  17. Margaret Trask of Fairsky Kennels imported a whippet a couple of years back. I would think she wouldn't mind letting you know who she used and what procedures she had to go through if you ask her. You can PM me and i will give you her number and email if you like.
  18. WOW she looks like she has a fair few cooking away, do you know how many you are expecting? I am slowly adjusting to how different a pregnant Whippet looks haha, I think of all the breeds a pregnant Whippet is the most different to its usual shape. I am impressed at how quickly they appear to return to their previous stunning shapes though! Her last litter was 11! She is 17 3/4 inches tall and (normally) only weighs about 10-11 kgs! So by the looks of her i would say another 9-11 pups will be on the way.
  19. This is my girl at 6.5 weeks we're getting closer!
  20. Congratulations Jill! Glad to see my whippets aren't the only ones that have big litters! (first was 10 and second was 11!) Good luck with them all! My girl is very fat now at 6 weeks! so hopefully not with too many!
  21. Ooooh can I see a pic of the "pot belly" please? So sorry KC Blue! I am not on here much I don't have a pic of her "pot belly" but if you look at my website Georgia is the lovely black whippet on the home page. She is 3 weeks in the photo. most people don't realize she is in pup in that photo but if you turn her upside down its easy to see, she now is very fat at 5 weeks www.kanatiwhippets.com ETA website
  22. Congratulations. Errrrrrrrrrrrr, don't you mean correct size bitch. LOL....you are so right Oakway! :D The sire is only 19.75 inches himself :D So fingers crossed for something special! Good luck with your whippy babies and can't wait to see all the pics!
  23. We're gonna have puppies! :D ;) My sweet georgie has her "pot belly" at 2 weeks! She is only a tiny thing (17.3/4 inches tall) and if the belly is there at 2 weeks we are gonna have babies!!!! YAY! ETA: because i can't spell...LOL
  24. Fern's experience was not minor, won't do it again on her. That's so sad to Hear Anne We have a bitch that had 2 done...with no problems before or after.... she had 10 pups the 1st time and 9 the second. It SHOULD be a minor surgery. Then again if its the person i think that did it I can fully understand why you wouldn't do it again.... So glad to see she came through it ok
