The only time he tells her off is if he thinks that her food is his. I had it locked in her pen which he was standing next to trying to figure out how to get it when she walked by, he didn't touch her but had a scary look on his face & made a lot of noise. Laci's like ho hum, what's he on about.

  2. OH was completely taken with Laci & her siblings & the grown up dogs. When we got home she was introduced to our sons (2 of 3 are resident), daughter-in-law & granddaughter who were surprise visitors as they live in Ulladulla.

Resting after a busy afternoon exploring the back yard & trying to get away from Panda who is very taken with her, albeit a bit rough at times. But have no fear she's not backward in telling him what she thinks of his wild ways.

She didn't like Panda too close while she was eating & after nearly finishing her meal she told him off in no uncertain terms. Something that Tilba has never done.

  3. One more sleep & I go & pick up Laci. Today I bought her food, a couple of kongs & a soft toy. I couldn't find all of Panda's old baby toys so had to start from scratch. Oh, & the other day I bought her another type of food treat thingy.

I have cleaned the old cat crate which will be her temporary bed until she's bigger & can use Panda's. Was going to get another Bunnings compost bin but they didn't have any so have to make do with one of Pandas that didn't look in too bad a condition. Never used this before, but I also got a piece of artificial grass which she's used to using at Katie P's, for when we go out & have to leave her for short times.

If only my other 2 dogs knew what they are in for. Can't wait, tomorrow morning is either going to crawl along or go so quickly I won't have a chance to do the last few things that need doing.

  4. I took my 2 dogs to the vets today for their annual k9 cough vaccinations. Same practice, new owners. The previous owners always routinely gave C7 vaccinations & because I'm getting a new puppy next week I've been looking for a new vet. My dogs have been going to the same practice for about 30 years. My parents & my aunt also used to go there in the early '60s.

So, I thought I'd suss out the new vets who have practices all over Sydney & Figtree South Coast. They are called vetfriends. Does anyone in Sydney use any of their practices & if so how do you find them? http://vetfriends-px.rtrk.com.au/

The vet I saw only works there Mondays & Tuesdays & I found her to be very willing to answer all of my queries. I asked about their policy on vaccinations re puppies & she told me they routinely use C5 vaccinations & only give C7 if the client asks for it. Dependant on when puppies receive their 1st vacs, they will do 2 or 3 puppy shots, but mostly seems to be 3 which is what the old vets always did. Both dogs had their tri-annual vaccinations last year & looking back 2 years to when Tilba had her k9 cough vaccination the bill this year was about $20 cheaper & for some reason Panda's JS was $12 dearer than Tilba's?

Anyway on the whole I was happy with the visit.

ETA While I was waiting to see the vet an old lady & her 17 y/o mini foxie came out. She pointed at I thought my BC & asked if she was a Husky. I said no a Border Collie. Then I realised my mistake  & said (my little white fluffy)he's a Japanese Spitz & that huskies were also Spitz. She said she'd never heard of Spitz before. I then told her that Poms were also a Spitz breed.
