What a mean Mum you are! 1) Why doesn't Bear have his own bed?? ;) 2) How can you ruin your poor dogs "fun" just to take a photo? Bear does have his own bed ;)

Bear sharing Buster's bed Buster looks grumpy because I told him to stop licking his willy so I could take the photo

Hi Tiggy - sorry I never answered you about heeling with your arm outstretched. When we had our lesson we were supposed to teach the dog an extended hand target and once the dog knew this to have your hand just above the dogs nose so that it is prancing in an upward manner. Your arm should be outstretched and you make sure that it is always in line with your shoulder or heel position (never forward or behind you). All very good if you have tall dogs, but in my case Strauss was just a puppy and I felt that I was leaning backwards. So I decided I would hold my hand up high and drop the occasional bit of food which seemed to work for us. Thanks for that :D my dogs are shorties so I'll try it your way, that's what I did with Banjo today.

Sorry another question - if the dog is suppose to be targeting my hand when I have it out to the side is the dog actually meant to touch my hand or just focus up at it.
-
Thanks for answering my questions ness There wasn't anything really worth videoing but it did happen I promise ;)
-
Hey ness guess what I trained the boys this afternoon :D I have a question with the perch work is it right to start facing the dog then progress to being at their side. Banjo is pretty good with me in front of him but if I step to the side of him he's not sure. Bear was offering two feet on the perch and looking mighty proud of himself ;) . I tried a bit of the heel work with my arm out to the side with Banjo, is it right for them to go wide :D , his focus was good though and his food catching skills are improving .

Why three years? The dogs can do it at 2 years of age. M It depends on how he matures, my other boy was a very slow maturer, plus I'll be busy with obedience and agility .
-
Wow she's doing so well
-
Very jealous of you guys doing the ET this year, It'll be three years before I get to do it with Bear .

Hey Ptolomy could you please give me us an explanation of the arm out technique you're using with the heel work thanks
