  1. NSW & SA IW Clubs have a new website. http://www.iw-aust.org.au/ Irish Wolfhound Society of Australia http://www.wolfhound-puppies.com/
  2. More than a month has gone by already & I feel so very sad & empty, just knowing this really wonderful man is no longer with us. James' memorial guest book was due to end tomorrow - however, it has now been sponsored for a year. Those who wish to add an entry, please do as we keep James' memory alive. http://www.legacy.com/guestbook/smh-au/guestbook.aspx?n=james-yates&pid=158464380
  3. Dear Stu, thank you so much for posting and please let the family know we hold them close in our hearts. I called into the vet hospital yesterday, to sign James' memorial book - reading just a few entries, from the many, many pages said, just how very much loved James was to so many people. My life has been so enriched in knowing James & having such a wonderful man look after our precious fur kids for so many years.... James is sooooooo very sorely missed.
  4. Thank you Clyde, shortie & fifi. Never easy losing a parent but knowing he is at peace & back with my mum now, brings me some comfort. Do hope your dad is doing much better now fifi.
  5. shortie, it was a huge devastating shock to us all and even now, still can't believe we shall never see him again. Hoped to attend his funeral yesterday to pay my respect to such a dedicated, wonderful man but sadly, my father passed away Tuesday night and have been busy organising his funeral - been a real bitch of a week for me.
  6. For those wishing to pay their respect, James' funeral service will be held at Palmdale Crematorium on Friday 13th July 2012 at 11.30am.
  7. I still feel numb this morning after receiving a shock phone call yesterday afternoon. Our wonderful vet, whom we have taken our fur kids to for the past 15 or so years, passed away suddenly & very unexpectedly. Dr James Yates of Doyalson Animal Hospital (Central Coast NSW) had taken over the business with Dr Sally Smith in 2001, although James had worked for the Hospital and other local vet clinics before this time. As the practice grew, James had a huge following of clients and at times, it was hard to even get an appointment with him - this tells you just how wonderful & popular he was. What can one say about a man, who's passion for the health of people's pets, excelled so far & beyond the norm. He had saved the life of some of my fur kids, he had helped bring some into the world - he had always been there for us - gosh, my heart just aches. Only two or so weeks ago, Doyalson Animal Hospital won the Northern Lakes Business of the Year - such a grand award and well deserved to such a dedicated & fabulous team. The story & a photo of a very happy James & Sally made the local newspaper, holding their wonderful trophy with pride. Life seems so unfair at times, that something like this can happen, when things seemed to be going so well. My heart goes out to James' family, his work colleagues, Sally, Paul, Jennifer, Emma & all the Staff. I can't imagine how you all must be feeling. This world is certainly a far, far lesser place without you in it James. RIP - you will be soooooooo missed immensely. James was just 43 years.
  8. When a breed is already established a blank in a dogs pedigree is unacceptable
  9. Thanks Meea, received all the IW results through from a friend. Thanks to Alyosha for GS results - and well done to the winners.
  10. Well, it was certainly ladies day at the Royal (with the fur girls taking all the top honours) Congrats to all the winners and many thanks to Sway & others who very kindly kept the rest of us up to date Oops, I see below (thanks Freckles) that I had the wrong info - oh well, the thought was nice

  12. No idea if there was or not. I know a few breeds were non awarded either the whole breed or just a CC/res CC. They were scratched prior to today. Thanks poocow and Sway

  16. Thanks SSM, really appreciate your time to post these results and hope you did well yourself today, with your guys. The only Greycroft bitch I think entered at the show (to my knowledge)would have been Ch Greycroft Annika - if so, well done to Sue Lewington.
  17. Congratulations to Sarah & Finola - as you can see SSM, we didn't make it to the show either. When you have time, could you please post Dog CC & Res CC plus bitch Res CC winners - thanks Edited to also ask, if you could post the IW BOB from the Sighthound show too please ~ many thanks in advance.

  20. Yes, Houndtor kennels (Vict) had both Otterhounds & Bloodhounds - knew Linda & Mike Jenning well - stayed with them on occassions when we would travel to Vict for the Bloodhound shows (when we had Bloodhounds). Their Otterhounds were wonderful, much like a Bloodhound except with hair  A very outgoing hound & happy temperament. Nowadays, the only Otterhound I know of is in NZ and I think they have only one bitch. I am not sure who the people are but they use to enter the NZ Royal (the name of large show escapes me) with their girl It is a crying shame that the breed has died out in Oz as it was once quite popular & they are a fun breed.
  21. I went for a visit today to meet Sookie, the cross Wolfie who was adopted by a good friend of mine. Sookie has had a name change though & is now known as Rusty. He is doing extremely well in his new home & has settled in so well - a very happy, friendly boy who lavashed me in kisses.....he has his own lounge and is being treated like the golden child he is. I took him a bag of treats & a lovely smoked bone - he was quite impressed with my pressie and well, pics say the rest. I think he likes his new forever home, don't you Thanks again David !
