  1. This product is so expensive! Ill love to try it. I think my dog has mild skin itchiness but dont want to waste my money on such an expensive product in case it doesnt work. I noticed theres a regular grade and vet grade. Which one is everyone using? And anyone know how much postage is for 500ml?
  2. Im not sure if its because I used too much but my dogs coat kinda came out bluish. I actually got a better white with normal episooth shampoo I think! And my dogs got a bit of itchy skin case at the moment so Im not sure if using Plush Puppy might make that worse? Ive got a bottle of the Plush Puppy wonder white no-rinse shampoo. I used one pump of it and it doesnt work for me. If anyone is interested in buying it off me at a discount please let me know!
  3. Ill be interested if you could share that info anyway! Sounds like really good ideas and info I can use for my dog!
  4. Can anyone post a list of dangerous foods up please? I think Ive given some of the "dangerous foods" to my dog without knowing so would like to be aware of whats not good for them. Ive given my dog brocolii but thankfully she didnt like it. Ham is another no no food Ive been made away of.
  5. I bought a jar of vegemite for my dog but she sniffed it and decided she doesnt like it! But isnt vegemite bad for dogs because the yeast can make them itchy? I dont like the stuff either so I have no idea why I bought it and its so expensive too! But my dog loves peanut butter!
  6. Thanks! I think you explained it really well. I initially misunderstood it to mean I should always walk the same routes otherwise my dog will get use to it and still leash pull if I take her elsewhere Another thing is, what should I do if I dont want my dog to go in a direction I dont want her to? Because I will pull on the leash for her to go in one direction and she'll pull in the other direction. If I stay still she'll do the same and wont budge. That can look really strange to a passer by. I also read that me pulling will teach my dog to pull but staying still doesnt work either so what do I do??
  7. Thanks that really helps! My dog pretty much walks with her head on the ground and wants to go up to every tree. But Im not quite sure what you mean by not setting a destination or distance because I usually walk my dog around my street and we just end up back at my house. And sometimes my dog wont budge when I want her to go in another direction or even through the door if she doesnt want to go home!
  8. Thanks for letting me know! I gave my dog a bit of ham when I made sandwiches for my self cause I thought it was meat, hence ok.
  9. Could you please let us in on how you taught your dogs not to leash pull? I read a tip online saying if the dog pulled on the leash I should stop and stand still until the dog stopped pulling. I dont think that technique is working for me.
  10. Im not sure if Im feeding my dog the correct portions. I dont have a scale so Im just going by how much I think she should eat and I dont know if Im right. Now that my dog is use to the raw diet Im feeding her she always wants more which makes it harder because I dont know if shes really hungry or not. My dogs a bichon, 7kg. This week Ive been feeding one chicken wing, small piece of chicken carcass, about a fist sized piece of meat cut into cubes. She also gets treats during the day. Shes just gone through a pigs ear in the last two days. Im not sure if that appropriate for a dog the size of a bichon. Ill also like to introduce more variety and make my own treats for her. Any ideas?? Is it ok for dogs to eat bread? I gave some crust and she really enjoyed it. She loves cheese as well. What type of cheese is better for dogs? (and cheaper!) And is peanut butter ok for dogs?
  11. I took my dog to a vet in Balmain and they were great! The vet diagnosed my dogs itchy ears as a skin allergy, which seems right because her ears are clean and showing no signs of infection and theres no grass seeds either. She also scratches a bit in other places too. I got some tables to treat her skin and hopefully that should fix it. Im just relieved theres nothing wrong with her ears and I wish I found this vet earlier instead of wasting my money before!
  12. Its day four of the ear drops and Im still seeing my dog scratch and rub her ears. The vet said to go back if the drops werent working after 3 days. But on the bottle it says to use for 5-7 days so I thought I might use it for the whole 5 days and see if theres any improvement. I think shes scratching less but I cant be sure. The fur on her ears are a mess because of the ear drops. I dont know how they get onto her ears but the fur is all oily. Shes still doing her "act". Im pretty sure no amount of hugs, treats or ear massage is going to get her to like it! Bailey's mum, How did they find the grass seed in your dogs ear? And how did they get it out?
  13. Ive started using the drops for fungi. Im onto day two and my dog goes into hiding after I do her ears. I feel like its affect my relationship with my dog but still I have to do it for her good. Im not sure if theyre working because I her ears are still itchy sometimes. How long should I massage her ears for after I give the drops? And I see a few bits of black dots in her ears. Any idea what they are?
  14. My dog doesnt eat her food if I give it in the morning. So its either afternoon or night meals for her. But I dont want her eating too late at night cause I figured it might keep her energy levels up when she should be sleeping. Like if I eat too much late at night it disturbs my sleep.
  15. I found this site with videos on grooming and theres a video on cleaning ears using ear powder. You can just use you fingers to get the hairs out. http://www.doggroomtips.com/videos.html
  16. I only see the oil in the bottle. I cant find the spray anywhere. I was going to buy the oil which is only $3 but postage is so expensive! So I would need to buy a bunch of products to get nmy money's worth.
  17. Please recommend a groomer that does good clipping not just washing (cause Im pretty good at washing my dog myself!) anywhere in between Sydney city, inner west, or somewhere close to these areas (ie not so far as Penrith or Blacktown). My dog needs some clipping around her face and ears and have her ears cleaned and ear hairs plucked. Im not too confident about doing those things. Ive only managed to cut the hair on her paws with her moving. Has anyone tried Magic Mutts in Five Dock? They quoted me $60 for grooming a bichon. I think thats a bit expensive. I dont even pay that much to get my own hair cut! Ofcourse I would pay more to leave my dog in professional hands and get a good grooming but I was thinking somewhere around $40-$50 would be a reasonable price.
  18. Where do you buy the neem oil stuff? Do you mix it with water to make a spray?
  19. Well the vet could have at least cleaned the other ear. My dog was struggling and she just didnt want to deal with that. And she only gave me the drops because I asked for it. So I dont think she had any interest in my dog. Im still seeing her scratching her ears so I will use the drops and see how I go.
  20. Yeah I dont think I will be going back there. The vet could have at least cleaned out the other ear but she just told me to go home and try doing it myself :S This was after I asked her to show me how to clean them. She was going to send me home having charged $30 just take a 5 second look inside my dog's ears. Theres a bunch of small hairs inside the ears with some wax I think but its much cleaner after the flush and massage. Not smelly or sore. Normal pinky colour. Just scratching and rubbing sometimes. I just dont want her building up a resistance to the fungal drops... if that would happen? I dont know should the vet have taken a swab and checked it out for an infection? She told me if my dog is still scratching after the fungal drops then it could be a bacterial infection and told me to go back and see her in that case. Shouldnt she just have taken a test and found out what infection there really is instead of shoving me with some fungal drops?
  21. Its called Dermotic ear and skin suspension. I see my dog scratching at her ears and rubbing them with her paws a bit. Mainly just scratching at her ears more than anywhere else. Ive only had her for a week so Im still observing her. Ill try the drops and see if they help. Problem is she doesnt even want any treats after I give her the drops! She gets scared and starts trying to hide from me.
  22. She was definitely scared of me after I put the drops in her ears. She normally doesnt like being touched around the ears so me putting liquid in her ears really upset her. And it just totally changed her behaviour and she wasnt her happy self. So I would say that she was sulking... Ill try warming it next time. Can someone else please advise if should I use the drops for fungus if my dog may not even have an infection? The vet charged me $30 for a 5 min consultation and only cleaned out one ear after I asked her to show me how to clean it. She gave me the fungus drops without even checking if my dog has an infection. She just said "white dogs tend to have fungal infections in their ears"
  23. I see my dog scratching and rubbing her ears sometimes and I saw browny wax inside. So I thought she had ear mites and I got her some ear mite drops. Today I put the drops in her ears and she got really upset and stopped wanting to play or eat treats and even stopped following me. I got worried and thought maybe she had an adverse reaction to the ear drops and I took her to the vet. The vet looked inside her ears and said she didnt have mites and her ears are ok. So apparently she was just sulking over me putting the drops in her ears. When I asked the vet about her ear scratching the vet said it could be a fungal infection but she didnt do any tests to confirm it. She just gave me a bottle of drops for fungus. I dont know if I should use it on my dog or not because theres no evidence of a fungal infection. I feel really bad for using the drops on her and she was upset all day and even scared/avoiding me!
  24. I got my doggy today!! Will definitely be getting a good quality slicker brush! I have a metal comb brush but my dog doesnt like it when I brush her with it especially on the head.
