WOW JJ, that is awesome, you would have to be absolutley wrapped with that result, well done to the Girlies!! Look out next weekend!! A few of us went to Logans this arvo after training, will post pics after, it wasnt a bad day apart from the wind, they don't call it windy Warrnambool for nothing. At least it wasn't raining!!

Tez, dont worry about the bird, Bloody seagulls are as tough as nails!! I think you are doing a wonderful job with Jane, she is a typical happy go lucky pup with lots of energy.Im sure if a bird landed under the nose of one of my lot they would have had a go too, it is nature dogs are prey animals and this sort of thing is just a natural insitinct. Mine do chase birds but they wouldnt have a hope in heck of catching one, they live in hope Im sure the majority of dog owners have had some kind of situation with thier dogs that they would have prefered not to happen. It happens to the best of us. Mine all know what Leave it means but sometimes they test the boundrys, like yesterday at the beach we came across a very dead smelly seal on the and all the leave it and whistle blowing in the world would not stop my usually best behaved boy in rolling in the dead animal, it was so discusting and stinky, sometimes they just cant help themselves no matter how much training they have had. I also still like my lot to have fun and be dogs, If mine we predominantly (sp) outside dogs he could have rolled inthe dead stuff all day but I had to put up with the smell so no thanks and today he found some fresh horse poo and rolled in that. ah the joys!!

Dog show is tomorrow - Horsham/Wimmera. Just worked out it starts at 8:30am so we'll have to leave at 4:30am to be there in plenty of time. Wish us luck though - this is both Amy & Tarni's 'debut' so should be interesting. I have been told Belle's breeder (who bred Amy's Mum) is going to be there so we'll have some good competition for their first visit to the show ring! I don't expect too much from a puppy, but feel Amy could do very well even with a belly-full of arms & legs! Will update as we WIN throughout the day.... 4.30 thats sooooo early are you taking the whole family?? Im sure you will do well, lots of luck to you and the girls!!

Info on Baiting around Warrnambool/Killarney & on and off leash areas. There is no baits anywhere between Warrnambool and Killarney at the moment, the program will start up in Sept and run all year round from then. Signs to be updated once the program starts, there is a sign near Levys beach and also the one at Gormans Lane. The baits will be laid from the Gormans lane beach right down to levys in the dunes also in private property along there as well. the baits are injected into blocks of fat which is then buried in the ground 15 cms. Parks Victoria is in charge of the coast line from the boat ramp at Killarney all the way back to Levys and from 200 meters the other side of the Killarney beach car park to Port Fairy and none of that section of beach is off leash at all under any circumstances. The stretch between the boat ramp and 200 meters the other side of the car park (which is called Killarney beach) is the Moyne Shires area and it is dogs prohibited between 9am and 6pm from the first of Dec to Easter Monday but the remaining part of the year dogs are allowed to be on the beach leash free!! I asked Ailsa about the DSE and she said basically they own the land but Parks Victoria and other governing bodys such as the MS and WCC manage and maintain the land. Ailsa said if anyone wants to contact her directly they can do so, (Pm me for her Number or call Parks Victoria) she will be happy to speak with anyone re: baiting etc.

Im sorry you feel I was rude, (not sure which comment I made was rude) once again was not my intention, If you go back through some of my posts you will see my use of exclaimation marks is common, probly a bad habit!! I didn't go to the WCC because the area is not in thier duristiction (sp) so thats why I went to the MS, If you have the info why not post it here for the ones that frequent the area so they can be aware of what to look for.

Kilarney area has nothing to do with council, it is in the Moyne shire area. JJ, did you end up finding out anything about the 1080. I rang MS, they havent laid the baits and have put me onto Parks Victoria and Im just waiting for the lady to ring me back may not be today as it is already 5 so she could be gone for the day, I left a message. The Lady at the MS told me along the coastal shire areas there is a fine line as to who does what as DSE is involved with a lot of that area, so she said it cold be them. I should have taken more notice of the sign but I didnt even think to look at who was laying the baits, the lady at the MS also said it could be a local farmer as well?? I would have thought they would only be allowed to lay on their own land?? Anyway might have some more info tomorow.

Hey JJ, if you ring the council, can you let me know about the 1080? The sign is directly at the end of the main track, it is stuck to the big railing as you go through to the beach. We go around the bend and follow the track to the little car park near the river. Were you at Kilarney yesterday? I thought it was you that followed me down the track.

Hi bobchic, so much good advice, I would just like to add that my oldest female dog who is 2 occasionally asserts her dominance, not with me or my OH but with the other dogs, she sleeps on the bed and a little while back she was being protective of the bed to the other dogs not letting them get up by growling at them and warning them off jumping up if that makes sense, I nipped it in the bud strait away and she was promptly ushered off the bed on to her bed on the floor (next to the bed) and thats where she stayed for the next 2 nights then she was invited back on the bed again, she hasnt done it since. I too have got a lot out of Cesars shows, he is awesome and so many of the things he teaches people is really common sense!! Good luck!!

Well in any case I'm sure you will have lots of little Vizzys running around soon, how long is doggy gestation? This is the scene at my house tonight, Cooper is certain he is a lap dog and lacy is usually lounging on my OH but tonight she decided she needed to be on me too!! All the while Bronson sooked casue there was no room for him :laugh:and Tully was inbetween me and Sean! not only was there no room for Bronson but no room for my laptop...... edited to add the pics are not the best quality as they are off my moby.

Ah Yes, its not just me then!! They have opened a shop in Timor street where pizza haven used to be, we had one tonight and yes they are very processed like haven, pinkys, dominoes and the likes. BUT thier dessert thingys are YUMMY!!
