  1. Did anyone get a catalogue at the Campbelltown & District show held today at Erskine Park? Can someone please tell me how many were entered in 3-6 month Sweepstakes?
  2. Thanks Guys. Here's a pic I took today of my little... or not so little now.... munckin
  3. My amstaff boy Skylarulz Hell Razor got titled today.... Yay!! Wow can't believe we got this far. I initially got him as a pet and a companion for my stafford girl and he was about to be desexed, but his breeder Hera convinced us to give showing a go and see if we liked it. Well 18 months later we are still loving it and have just got another little amstaff puppy to show. :D Buster says thankyou to Hera for saving his nuts from getting the chop lol.
  4. Missy is 2 1/2 and recently desexed, and Buster is 23 months and entire (showdog). I trust Missy . She is the dominant dog and won't take any crap from Angel and puts her into place. I never intervene when Missy does this. Angel backs off straight away and seems to respect Missy. On the otherhand with Buster, Angel just didn't back off when he told her off. He's a good boy though and he came to me and ignored Angel when I asked him to. His body language is good when he is around her though and he seemed quite relaxed even when she was biting at his face and he was trying to squash Angel. Tail was down, ears were down and he was looking at me like he was wondering what he should do. I'll try again today and see how we go. Angel had been awake for awhile yesterday when they had their play and she tends to go feral when she gets overtired. Maybe she's be more respectful this time.
  5. Thanks for the reply. I don't think he'll hurt her on purpose. While Angel was hanging off Buster's lip, he kind of just kept trying to lay on her and squash her. I'll let them play again tomorrow and see how we go.
  6. My amstaff puppy Angel is 11 weeks today. A little background info. Angel has supervised playtimes with my stafford bitch MIssy who really isn't interested in her at all and will growl and pin Angel when she's being too nippy or annoying..... this I'm happy with. My Amstaff boy Buster has for the past few weeks only been allowed to interact with Angel while he is on a lead as he is extremely excited by Angel. Today I allowed Buster and Angel to play has he has really calmed down around Angel. Buster kept over the top of her dominating her and Angel submitted at first but then started biting and trying to stand on his back. Buster got more forceful and chased her down to pin her again and there was lots of saliva but Angel just wouldn't give in and kept jumping up at Buster and fighting back not wanting to submit. This puppy is a real dominating little so and so! Anyway I kept pulling Buster away from Angel after each initial correction because he hasn't really been exposed to pups before and I'm worried he'll go too far in disciplining her. Was this wrong? Everytime I've had pups they've always submitted to the older dogs at this age so haven't had the "pleasure" of having to deal with such a dominate pup before. Sorry for the essay...... would appreciate some advice. Thanks
  7. thanks for your help, im still having trouble do all breeds shows mean ALL breeds with be there? oh and roughstock i am interested and checking out the beautiful staffies (and amstaffs) do they get shown at the same shows? i also travelling to newcastle quite a bit, do they still have shows at the doggie place there (hillsborough-i think). sorry lol i've got no idea The Amstaff Specialty will be held on the 11th of September at Erskine Park. Come on down and have a look. I've got my boy and my new pup entered
  8. My little devil... uhh I mean "Angel" is now 10 weeks and getting into everything! Here are some new pics
  9. Yes I believe so but unlikely to be well bred if it's a dilute to dilute mating. A friend of mine has been breeding quality staffords for over 30 years and and has had the odd blue pop up in a litter over the years. These pups were in the same litters as champions and grand champions and she has said that if the blue pup had happened to be the pick of the litter, then she would happily show and breed it.... So yes it is possible to have well bred and healthy blues.

    Puppy Limping

Anyone know of a GOOD chiro in Wollongong/Sydney area?
  11. I paid the upgrade for the freewebs website and also a domain name. It's pretty good I think. My website hotashellamstaffs.com is still a work in progress. I need to resize all the pics to make the page load quicker but it gives you an idea on what you can do yourself. I used Frontpage to build the site and had pretty much no web design knowledge.

    Puppy Limping

Thanks for the well wishes guys. I'm sure I'm freaking out over nothing. I just put little Angel outside to get some rays and she's walking around having a sniff and using the sore leg. Hopefully that means it's most likely just a strain and she'll be feeling better soon.

Well I went to the vet and they can't find anything obvious wrong with her leg. She didn't cry or pull her leg away when the vet put pressure in different spots but is still hobbling around on it and isn't playing like usual The vet said to just rest her for a few days and see how she goes. She didn't seem too worried at all. Said it was most likely just a pulled muscle. Not sure if I should be insisting on an xray or does the resting and waiting like the vet said sound reasonable. Sigh.... still worried :D
  14. I've found the best toy for my guys in the neighbours footballs lol. They come over the fence and the dogs bust them within seconds and play with the deflated footy. A new one comes over the fence about every second weekend...... very cheap for me..... not so much for the neighbours!
  15. koalathebear, he breaks them at the little indents.... so in 3 pieces..... the one I bought today still got 2 rings together... I'll take a photo of the toys I still have GG85, maybe I'll get the Medium black one tomorrow and see if it last. Heavypaws..... $60 is alot ... but I have spend a lot more than that on toys in the last 6 months. Thanks Burkes, is this the rings you talk about? I tried one of these and I think it only lasted a couple of hrs with my stafford. I remember being mighty peeved after paying so much.
  16. why is that? Shouldn't she be in baby puppy from 3-6 months?
  17. My 9 week old puppy was fine last night when put to bed but this morning when I got her out of her pen she was limping on her back leg. She does bare weight on it but it is obviously bothering her because she isn't bouncing around and has just curled up in her bed and gone back to sleep.... very unlike her. I'm going to the vet at 9 but until then I'm sitting here feaking out! Does it sound most likely to be just a pulled muscle if she can bare weight on it? I hope it's nothing too serious
  18. Geez I'm really having a bad day! Thanks..... just blind this time! I'm just a bit flustered after being vomited on my my cat. She projectiled from the top of her 2 metre high scratching post all over me, the lounge, my cream carpet...... Thanks again.
  19. One more question...... There is another show on the next weekend 21st, when she WILL be 3 months old. I just tried to enter that one and there is no baby puppy in the class list. It starts at class 2 but in the show ad it says class 1 will be judged. Any ideas?
  20. I've been trying to enter s show on ozentries for my new puppy and it says that she is ineligiable (sp?) due to age. Birth date is 21/05/2010 and the show is August 14th. I work that out as just over 12 weeks or am I wrong? I've tried calling the show sec but there is no answer and ozentries was supposed to close a week ago but is still open so I'm trying really hard to get my entry in before they stop accepting entries.
  21. I got my puppy Angel on Monday!! Here are a few pics from the hundreds I've taken already.
  22. Hi All, My Amstaff keeps jumping on our colorbond fence whenever people/other animals walk past, lawnmowers starting, postman..... pretty much anytime he gets excited. Three times now he has popped the panels out and has gotten out of the yard. I've tried squirting him with the hose when he does it and also yelling "NO" at him but he just ignores me until I physically grab him which is yard because he thinks it's a big game and keeps dodging me. So I'm looking at what I can do to stop him having contact with the fence. I'm wondering if just a stock electric fence/hot tape would work or whether a containment system with collar would be the way to go?? A std electric fence would be a lot cheaper but I wonder if he wouls just learn to jump on the panels above or below where the wire is?? Any thoughts would be appreciated!
  23. Thanks. I'll contact the show sec. and see if they'll accept a pending reg. name/number.
  24. Is it possible to enter a baby puppy in a show before you get the papers back? I really want to enter a local show that isn't until mid August but entries close in 2 days. It will probably be another week before I get the papers back from dogsvic though. I have the microchip no. and the reg. name (if it is accepted), but I obviously don't have the reg. number.
