  1. Does anyone have recommendations for a good repro vet around Sydney area for frozen A.I? I was going to use Bowral vet but the only 3 bitches I know that went there missed... probably coincidence but would still like to hear other peoples opinions before making my mind up.
  2. Just win a 25 point BOB or BIG on her birthday and she is titled on her birthday ;) Done! I'll be back here in two weeks to announce her BIG win
  3. Nooooooo! damn it! She turns 1 on the 21st with only 10 points to go so I thought she might get titled on her birthday weekend
  4. Hi Guys, Does a dog need 25 points after they turn 1 to gain their champion title, or is it only if they get 100 points before they turn 1, they need an additional 25 points?? Does that makes sense? I'm all confused now lol
  5. Can anyone tell me the difference between straws and pellets for frozen semen? Is one or the other better?
  6. I'll be at the Royal on Friday for the staffords and Thursday 21st for Amstaffs, and then at Erskine Park on the 23rd & 24th for the amstaff specialties.
  7. Oops that would be why i didn't get them.
  8. Hmmm ok thanks... Don't know what happened to mine. Did it have a breed breakdown? If it did can you please tell me how many amstaffs?
  9. Just wondering if anyone has got their numbers for the Bay City KC show to be held at Hillsborough this Friday?
  10. Thanks for the replys guys. I called around a few places and have decided to get the double door panel from col western sheds. We're then buying weld mesh sheets and my hubby will make a frame and a divider for the shed. The weld mesh is really nice and thick..... and I found it for only $20.00 a sheet We'll use the same mesh for a roof.
  11. thanks. I'll find out if the roll top mesh comes in pieces high enough... it needs to be 1.8 min. and even then I'll need a roof to contain houdini stafford! That dog jumps 6ft from a sit!!!! My dogs laugh at the dog wire.... takes them about 20 seconds to either bust/squeeze/chew their way through. I've got a 3x3 shed which I'd like to split down the middle for sleeping areas and then a 3 x3 area in front of the shed which will need to be fenced to make a double run. It's already concreted so that's one less cost to think about.
  12. Has anyone made dog runs out of temporary fencing panels? I'm just looking into whether it will be cheaper than buying a run. Also, is the mesh thick enough not to be chewed through? I'm talking about the galvanized welded mesh, not the chain mesh type.
  13. I've locked my cat in the pantry for about 4hrs She must've snuck in there when I took the dog food out. I heard her meowing when I got home and there she was in the pantry and she had knocked over her bag of food.... atleast she wasn't hungry
  14. Thanks for the reply. Good to hear it's nothing unusual. What's the bet she's right in for the Sydney Royal... that'll be fun
  15. I have a 10 month old bitch who I thought was coming into season for the first time. She started to swell and I was expecting her to start bleeding but about a week after the swelling started, it's like she went back out of season. It's been 3 weeks since she first started swelling. Her vulva didn't swell as much as I'd expect for an in season bitch so I don't think she had a silent season. Also, my boy was tasting her urine for the first week but then stopped showing interest (they are kept apart but get swapped around for exercise). Has anyone had this happen?
  16. I had a great day too! I stuffed myself with icecream and woodfire pizza...... mmmmmm yummo! AND My amstaff boy got Open in Group
  17. I didn't get my numbers yet either.... can someone please tell me how many amstaffs are entered?
  18. I agree that there are SOME amstaff's with these issues, and they are MOSTLY from BYB's. However I think it needs to be made clear that there are MANY amstaffs that are dilutes that are exceptional... unlike quality blue/dilute SBT which are "nearly" non-existant in Australia (there are a few). This thread holds the strong opinion that ANYONE who breeds blue SBT's is unethical. Blue Amstaffs were then brought up and I think we need to be clear that this is not the case for amstaffs. There are many ethical breeders that are breeding quality blue amstaffs. YES there are also the dodgy breeders, but if someone wanted to buy a blue amstaff then there are many good breeders in this country that they can buy one from that have great conformation, health, and temperament. We just need to educate people to go to these good breeders rather than the breeders that are doing the wrong thing.
  19. We live in melboure and show regularly in vic i personally know almost every AST that does the show circuit and i challenge you to back up your claims and point out to me, all these blue AST’s with the bad mouths and skin problem. What a load of BS just ask for terry and jenny with the amstafs ingroup 2
  20. The dogs were barking so I went out to check and there was the biggest blue tongue I've ever seen. The neighbours were whipper snipping the fence line so it must have come from under the fence. I ran inside to get the dogs leads to drag them away but I was too late ;) So sad! poor poor lizard. Buster was foaming at the mouth and threw up after killing it. I think it was just from the excitement and the large amounts of water he drank.
  21. There's a paste/spray they use for horses called "Crib stop". It's very bitter tasting. I painted the paste all over pipes/the deck/gate (pretty much everything chewable!! :D ) and my boy has never touched those things again.... fantastic stuff
