  1. Haha, I'm glad to know that Monya has family on this forum!!! Monya has settled into our home for 2 1/2 weeks now. I'm a little sleep deprived but all is going well!! Given Monya is our first dog, I'm just glad she is really smart learned quickly, [brag] she now knows her name, sit, down, stay, stand, crawl, shake, stop, no-no, hi-5 and heel [/brag] I'm really proud of her!! Here's a cheeky pic of my special girl~~ All I can say is, she was worth waiting for!!!
  2. Wow, the JS world is definitely a small world!!! dilemmax, I wonder if your JS is related to Kairu, Winter and Monya in any way Miss B, I hope Winter continues to make progress with her toileting!!
  3. They have the same dad oh!! everybody is related here it's scary! So Winter and Monya share Maui as their daddy!!! Wow, guess we're one big family!! Is Kairu related somewhere into the family too?!?!?!
  4. Is she?!?!? Ohhhh!! I honestly didn't know that!! Do they share the same mother or father??
  5. My JS is 10 weeks old. She is an inside dog and has a xlarge playpen with her crate inside it (kind of like a master suite) - this is located in the family room. My OH has been sleeping on a mattress (besides the playpen) since her first arrival – we have been slowly increasing the distance between the playpen and mattress overtime. Puppy would wake up in the middle of the night, stand up to see my OH as if to check to make sure he is still there, then goes back to sleep. Her crying has also decreased overtime. We use newspaper to cover 50% of the playpen and our puppy knows only to pee/poo on the newspaper. Otherwise we have a designated area (toilet pad using newspaper) just outside the playpen for her to do her deed (gets praise and lots of attention every time she pees there). At 10 weeks, puppy has her last pee at 10pm at the designated area and would then sleep through the night until 4-5am in the morning – she wakes up to do a pee/poo inside the playpen and then wakes my OH up so that he knows to clean the newspaper for her – once cleaned, puppy has a quick play then goes straight back to sleep.
  6. Seems like a lot of to-be owners are getting pups soon... +1 here I visited my puppy this afternoon, I was head over heels about this particular puppy but I am aware that there is someone who is intending to show who'll be given first preference. Here's the pup that I fell in love with 2 more weeks and she may come home with me
  7. koalathebear, your post was so informative!! I'm getting my puppy in 3 weeks, you really helped getting me to think more about what could be done differently/creatively during the first few days!!
  8. Ohh Someone's getting their puppy today!! So jealous!! So excited for you tho Dju!!
  9. Oh~!! I see what you meant now When the 4th week photos arrive, I may take my chances and ask her to point out which one is going to be my pup
  10. Hi! I am getting my puppy in 5 weeks (so excited!!) and I would like to know if there are any good puppy schools around for obedience training/socializing in the SE Brisbane corner (I live in the Sunnybank area). I want to start planning and enroll my pup for training ASAP - just to ensure she gets all the essential goodness a puppy needs. Any suggestions?
  11. @chi4me: Charlie is soooo cute and adorable! I've got a question though, how come the breeder gave you a list of name to choose from?? Is that normal because I have a list of names that like and not sure how I'll feel having to consult the breeder about naming my pup. As for my girl, she is 3 weeks old now. Getting weekly photos from the breeder is the only thing that is keeping me sane! Here's a photo the pups, one of them is my girl... I wonder if it would be rude if I asked the breeder which one is mine? I also started purchasing puppy things for her too... I got a playpen for her online - it turned out much bigger than I imagined to be!! Her crate and toilet training pad Still waiting on collars, toys, name tag, and other accessories to arrive via mail!!!
  12. Wow, you are already spoiling your future puppy~~ I hope you will get to meet your puppy soon~~ That is one beautiful and unique tag!! Where did you get it from?? That is so so cool!~
  13. After 2 years of research, during which we spent 6 months searching and waiting for a litter - we finally found a breeder who has a female Japanese Spitz pup that'll be able to come home with us in... approx. 6 weeks!! So excited - I just went on a shopping spree buying different collars, crates, playpens, toys; asking friends with pets to recommend vets within our area and enjoying every youtube puppy training video there are out there in preparation of our new baby!! Skipping up and down the house does not hide my excitement!! Hubby thinks I'm a little crazy!
  14. Hi lady0421, I had a look at the website you posted and there seems to be a lot of suspicious looking ads on there, be wary of scammers and puppy farmers/backyard breeders (sadly there are quite a few of these in our breed). The price you could expect to pay for a JS pup from an ethical registered breeder would be $800-$1,000. When are you looking to get a pup? As Kimyata mentioned earlier, Esilanna Japanese Spitz (breeder of my boy) have a litter due to be born next month, let me know if you want any further details or contact info Hi Miss B Thanks so much for your reply. My husband and I just thought $250 is far too good to be true - it's good to know that we're not the only one feeling that there's something not so right about the advertisement. We'd love to have a JS pup some time soon; in fact, next months would be really good - coinciding with my birthday . I'd love to get in contact with Esilanna - if you could provide me with further contact details, that'd be really good!!
  15. I too am in the process of finding a good breeder for JS pups. If anybody is able to point me to the right directions (I'm located in Brisbane), that'll be much appreciated. I saw an advertisement on www.muamat.com selling JS puppies for $250 - a price which I think is too good to be true. I've contacted them anyway and wanted to see what they say.
  16. I too have been waiting to read about JS on this forum. I'm intending to buy one too as I find it hard to resist white and fluffy pets My better half works at the Fortitude Valley and reportedly said he often sees a JS before he arrives at work and he too fell in love with the breed! That is a really handsome pup you've got there Miss B!!!
