  1. Hi Kylie - was it you I was chatting to at a show recently?? Welcome YES!! That was me. Thanks for the welcome
  2. Hi WA people, Just wanted to re-introduce myself....I have been a DOL lurker for a few years (haven't had a dog so felt like I couldn't contribute much). I now have my very own dog so I can finally join in (I got my boy, Sami from a DOL foster carer 3 weeks ago) Hoping to get involved with some of the WA activities and to meet some of the WA DOLers. I look forward to keeping up with the WA posts to see whats going on over here with dog activities. Kylie
  3. Pardon my ignorance - but can I ask what a CASD is please? Hi Randcmoore31, My guess would be that CASD stands for Central Asian Shepherd Dog
  4. I'm so sorry BF. It really is quite an adjustment without a dog. I lost my best friend 3 years ago and have not had a dog since. I didn't want a dog for a long time after she went..... but still spent lots of time around dogs through various events.... dog shows, sheep herding events, dogsledding etc... It is really difficult being without your best friend. This year though, I have been petsitting for a lot of dogs and a couple of cats. I love it Last fortnight I looked after a 16 week old Cav/pug cross. This week I am looking after an approx 18week cocker spaniel cross puppy for 2 weeks That has helped a great deal, but I hate it when I have to leave them (I have mostly been house-sitting at the dogs houses, but the puppies are staying at my place this time). For me, it's not the same as having your own dog though (you have that extra special bond with your own dog I think). I look forward to having my own best friend again some time soon...... so that is something to be excited about!! I need something to look forward to :D Could you volunteer walking dogs at a local shelter, or petsit other people's pets at their homes???
  5. What area are you in? I live in Ellenbrook but I travel back down to Dianella to go to the Bedford Dianella vet centre, Claire and Beryl are both awesome ladies. Hi Masons Mum, I am in Edgewater. If I can find something closer to home that would be fantastic. Though I don't mind travelling a bit further for a great vet. If you like I can ask around at my club where most people take their dogs as they all live in that area Thanks Masons Mum. I would appreciate that
