  1. Always focus on the good bits...and you had plenty yesterday They were tough conditions...warm, duck poo on the ground, stewards who think that dropping the boards of the UD solid from a great height and making a sonic boom is fun All in all you should be pleased
  2. I think timing is everything bedazzled
  3. Nice Vickie I suspect someone's Brother would've preferred to have swapped places with his Sister...he thinks Obedience is not as exciting :p
  4. Gee, you have rude friends when you did your DOR All looking good...get that Drop from a distance and you'll be laughing :p
  5. Goodonya Ptolomy I vote that your mates critique your work and put in their scores instead of the judge's. Cider's DOR would've got top marks from me :D She DID drop.
  6. Thank you Saint Caffy - do I need to point out tomorrow I will only have 4 days to get a splat ??? Do I need to bring anything..................like a shotgun?????? No shotgun...just a nice, quick foldback drop. Shhh, still haven't taught Snazzy a DOR, but we like to keep him in a state of surprise
  7. What do you want? An instant splat?? YEP - is that asking for too much??? Not at all I have a dog that splats If you're there tomorrow, will give you a hand.
  8. Run to the box to reward her making lots of happy noises or you can also get good at throwing a toy for her to catch.
  9. Are you "cueing" her to halt or slamming on the brakes????
  10. For my SD, I have been using a tug and then getting Snazz to jump onto his contact, releasing and tugging and then sending to find a SD article and then another big play with the tug. Creates a lot of drive for the articles. I’m not worried about formal fronts and finishes …I do those separate. You just find something she is crazy for and keep the exercise informal…do 1 article or do 2…just mix it up and keep doing everything fast and fun.
  11. Huge congrats to you all Well done PAX and bedazzled. Excuse me Vickie..I thought Snazz was your favourite...will have to paint him red
  12. OMG you know me too well I nearly called one of my kids Tonic - because I was into Gin at the time Jules P saving you a seat too Thanks to Ptolomy for her training advice...have had to switch to Chateau Cardboard though as the bottles were clinking too much in my training bag :-)
  13. Your SA judge gave us a very nice hw pattern in Open when he came over for the Western Classic in early March. I really enjoyed it and found it very reasonable.
  14. With my toller, I taught him separately to run around a small garden stake. Also, separately, I would throw food back and forth over the BJ to introduce that to him. I then combined the 2 and put the stake out from the BJ. I then faded the stick by cutting it down. He always focused ahead on the BJ which is what you want.
  15. ...and well done on the Novice pass. Still waiting for the video
  16. One of those interstate visitors would be Andrea from WA...I heard she did some great runs Well done Tassie on your places and conquering the seesaw Brag for us..Snazz got his second Open obedience pass on 196 on Friday night What a hoot...enjoyed every minute of it.
  17. Don't you love those moments :D Run in the right direction and direct eye contact is just one cue to turn your dog. Hope you come along to Daisy's seminar
  18. Even with tugging you will need to curb the forging by throwing the tug behind you for awhile...getting him to turn away and back. Even with food you will probably need to start by throwing food behind you.
  19. that's too funny AD ROFL That's your excuse & you're sticking to it right???? I was all fired up on saturday night, fresh & ready to run, 4 runs, 0 Q's drank way to much red, woke up in Sunday, feeling like crap, 5 Q's & 2 titles. Does this mean I can justify writing myself off more often ???? Lol Definitely!! hic!
