  1. Hey blackjaq, here is some info on a training day in NSW! WGC Training Day Cooranbong 10 March 2013 The Working Gundog Club Inc. is holding an information and training day on Sunday, March 10 for anyone interested or curious about retrieving based on the activities carried out at Retrieving Trials for Gundogs (RT) and also Retrieving Ability Tests for Gundogs (RATG). A flyer for the event has been circulated amongst interested groups of people and is reproduced below. For organisational and catering purposes, we have asked people to register their interest in attending by booking in with the club secretary, Mary Law. Last year, just under 50 people and their doggies booked in and the feedback via email from almost every attendee showed it to be a very interesting and socially enjoyable day. WGC Inc. 2. Hey RB, you could always teach them to wait, leave them in a sit, walk out throw the dummies, walk back to them then send them, by then they should b really excited! You can also do doubles like this.
  3. Good on you for reporting them. Their are laws to keep people and animals safe, can't possibly imagine why some people think they are exempt from them!!!!
  4. Leslie says 4 saturdays in a row. Probably a couple of hours each week. Depends on numbers.
  5. Did the tip of the seed come out? My boy seems to get them in his mouth as his floppy chops are quite big. I thought I had got one out but had left the tip in there, it ended coming out through the top of his nose. if the swelling isn't going down at all after a day or two (or by tomorrow morning) there is probably more in there. If u can't get it out u will need a visit to the vet as the seeds can travel though them. Good luck!

  7. Oooh that sounds great, where is it at? http://www.australianworkingretrievercentral.org.au/bb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2921
  8. Fantastic news LL!!! You must be thrilled! You can never get enough puppy breath!
  9. Oh RS, this happens to us every trial, I really feel for you. I can never sleep the first night away, and have a filthy headache the next day. I get a decent nights sleep the next and then feel pretty bad the next day, recovering from the first!
  10. Hi Mollipop, Scouts mum makes them I will pm you her email. GSPx3 let me know if you want it aswell? So excited about the B&W brats 2nd place!!
  11. Hi ST have a look at this website: http://www.tbicatalog.com/TBICatalog2/dog_vests.html Their shipping is quite expensive, but it gives you an idea of what to search for on ebay or elsewhere?
  12. Good news Le, hope she improves alot and makes it home soon!
  13. Hi, You can check out this webiste. http://www.australianworkingretrievercentral.org.au/bb/ They are all mostly working labs, and a few USA types aswell. Im sure someone here will be able to help you.
  14. here is the link for the QLD stockist: http://innotek.com.au/SportDog-Home/Training_2 Definately agree with TSD, still so much cheaper if you buy from the USA.
  15. TSD I have to have mine handy as I end up dribbling in it then it doesnt work!!
  16. Hi All!! For my 2 bobs worth, I only attend a few trials a year in NSW. But it is very clear that it is the same people on the throwers all day, time and time again and we are so thankful to them. I remember being at a trial and offering to help anyone who would like to learn how to use the thrower? No! no-one wanted to learn. It was quite dissappointing. I need to keep my dog calm at a trial (he is a little over excited and cant control himself - we have issues) and sitting on a thrower for all 3 runs doesnt help me at all, it would be nice if a few others put their hand up occassionally. But I love the sport and wont let another competiter down by not being there to help them.
  17. Thanks for the update, any names of dogs who are left? Just checked AWRC and no updates there yet. Have a fun day today.
  18. You wouldn't come even if he was able to eat kibble :p I did the camping thing when I started retrieving trialing, but one or two seasons in a tent in the freezing cold with no showers and often only a pit toilet, I chucked that in! Most others have a caravan but a few of us head to the nearest cheap motel, hey rubyroo :D Hi All, havent stopped in for a while! Yes, love those cheap motels. I have decided to do Branxton again and was almost thinking of camping but that hot shower at the end of the day is soooo good! Great photos of the national, you are very talented. Very happy for Bob and his win!
  19. Hi all, just wondering if any of you know how much I would pay for a good condition 3 berth dog trailer? Many thanks!!
  20. Mollipop I cant thank you enough for making the journey all the way on Sunday, very much appreciated!! :D Our last run was a water blind (leave the dog in the hide(dog supposed to stay not break ), the bird was cast and then shot) and and mark a bit further along the hill than the 2nd run (I think he went for a run here, as he seemed to take his time??). So lots of training for our last trial for the season in ACT, if we get enough entries!
  21. Hi All!! We had a lovely cold and wet weekend up in the blue mountains! Saturday was just embarassing, Stinger just sat there and looked at me when I said fetch! He was determined not to go swimming! but after yelling and screaming like a crazy mad women he got in. We were out of the first run. He retreived the mark but not the blind it was very tight to what I have been training so more homework. He did finish the other runs not to badly. Sunday we managed to finish all 3 runs and place 1st!! So, very excited!! (not real happy about his score I think we only just made it he has scored higher so I know he can do better) Mollipop and the other girls did really well, but really who would want to go swimming! (so cold) Hope you all had a great weekend.
  22. Congratulations FHRP :D Polly is such a clever boy!!
