  1. Congratulations Murve ond Orlando. Well done!!!!
  2. She worked lovely damn shame about the video though. Once again huge congratulations!!!!!!!!
  3. Congratulations RS When can you come play in UD?
  4. Thanks everyone for the congrats..Am still walking around with an insane smile on my face. Nic will you be at Logan in a couple of weeks? Decided I had better try for another leg before I go away. Ptolomy winning lotto has got nothing on this feeling FHRP when is Polo joining us in UD? Field trials are done for the year arent they?
  5. Okay putting it in here though I'd be surprised if the whole world didnt hear us last night without benefit of modern technologies the screaming for joy was so loud. Went to Bundaberg for the double last night - first trial the monster was enjoying the cold, wet windy conditions a little too much and forgot about her SB and just had a run around did the rest really well for 3rd place NQ. Second trial she remembered why she was there and despite a brain fade from me she picked up the slack and we got our first UD pass. 185 and 2nd place place. So very very happy this morning.
  6. Double header at Caboolture today. Coco's scent work was excellent today it really wasnt broken last weekend, still convinced it was my antibiotics. Oh well live and learn.. lesson one from today - signals is just that signals do NOT say heel as you step off from the start peg. lesson two from today - be more clear in your signals/body language so as not to confuse your dog at the start of CoP. I'm sure Coco talks about me with the other dogs and how I embarass the hell out of her
  7. I asked Bedazzled a little while ago if she knew how you got on today..... Yes antibiotics definitely affect your scent work - take it from me .... been there, done that and failed scent! Thanks for that she was just so out of character this weekend with her SB, was starting to think I had broken her somehow. Decided to cut our losses and have an early day. Came home, played with the dog for a while and the strapper/chauffeur extroidanaire took me out to lunch. Told you he was worth his weight. It was his suggestion about the A/Bs.
  8. Coco has been horrible all weekend with her scent work, this morning despite scenting the track she ran right over the article in SB but ignored it. Started to hunt further afield (out of the ring where I warmed up) so I called her off again. Brought back wrong articles in SD which she hasnt done in 12 months so withdrew. Her other work was fine. My question to the gurus Is it possible that the antibiotics I have been on for three days now have changed my scent enough to cause this issue with her? Remembering this is the dog who refused to work for me the first (and only time) I trained with my glasses on, in fact she went and sucked up to my friend who was calling the ring runout. Took the glasses off and she worked as per normal.
  9. Some seriously nice work after a very long day.. Congratulations guys, well deserved But we'll have to see if we can steal it back in two years. :D
  10. Take your own advice - down the park in the dark or half dark . Worked for Coco's SB slowed her down and made her use her nose. Only took a couple of short sessions for us so probably only one for you and Ella.
  11. Was hoping to have a last trial on saturday as hitout for the following weekend but everyone else in the house will be out and I will have to take the screaming loon as well as she cant be left alone.. Not a good situation to have her screaming herself sick whether she is left in a crate or in the back of the truck so .... Not sure one more outing would improve things anyway..
  12. Just a brag by default here Coco's brother passed his track 7 this week over in the west and is now a Dual Ch. So very proud of Jack and his owner Joy.
  13. Congrats RS, you and the girls are on a roll
  14. First love is obedience. Loving the higher levels for different exercises to train. Tried agility but I'm too slow. Love the connection with my dog that develops. Paddock bashing is a very boring way to teach obedience and not one highly recommended for competitive obedience. Great for teaching a better behaved pet though.
  15. I'd say that would be a good idea. We're supposed to have a dry winter but you never know at the moment! Second that, its a trial and that means a high chance of rain here at the moment..
  16. last dog in the ring today in horrible conditions. Only one dog had managed the SB whether due to the water in the air or in puddles on the ground is uncertain. But my pocket rocket couldnt have cared less, lovely SB, DJ and articles. Minor distraction moment in CoP and missed the recall signal (Blast!!!). Came away very, very happy with my girl I think we are starting to find that line we need to walk. The new pre-trial routine seems to be working giving us a good level of enthusiasm but keeping the work ethic there. Now for some more proofing for distractions so the concentration can be kept for the entire workout. Still happy with my kiddo tonight..
  17. Congratulations that is fantastic well done Ptolomy and Bedazzled!!!!!!!
  18. Fatso where abouts are you? If you are in Brissie you are more than welcome to meet my two and see what you'd be in for in the flesh so to speak..
  19. Congratulations to everyone on the great weekend!! 23 runs OMG!!! I'm exhausted just thinking about it! Special congrats to those with titles earned, onward and upward.
  20. too true! I don't know whether it's worse to fail EVERYTHING or to just keep failing one different exercise each time I feel your pain LP!! Am really, really tired of being in the 10 second brain fade giving us a zero department. But absolutely hated the fail everything period. All I can say is keep on plugging and I'll have a drink for you up here when it happens cause those of us who are struggling with this blasted UD stuff need to stick togethor.
  21. My guy was sure the crate rest was the worst thing we did for her!! And the outcome has been so much better with him than the vets so if we were ever in the same situation I know I'd be seeing him and going with what he said.
  22. Have you tried Comfrey ointment? Pip tore the ligaments in her shoulder about 3 years ago - we did everything the vets/physio told us including 6 weeks in a figure of eight bandage to prevent movement of the joint and then a further 2 or 3 weeks crate rest on top of that. All of which was not fun in a young active GSP! Left her with a permanent limp About 12 months ago found a brilliant chiro/manipulator who over a period of 4 months gave me back my happy girl.. :D Using a combination of laser acupuncture, magnetic mats, controlled exercise and massage the change has been outstanding. The comfrey although good for broken bones is also great on muscles and ligaments and we used it in the last three weeks of treatment. She will still come up a little proppy if I do an agility run through with her but only I can pick it up, she can do Open obedience work no problems and this worked at least 2 years after the injury. So see if you can find a good greyhound chiro/manipulator they are worth their weight in gold.
