  1. ive been reseaching raw feeding for about 3 months before i got a dog and have kept doing so, so about half a year all up.

ive always fed raw meet and bones and offal but never been sure if im doing it correctly,

ive run out of my bag of inova evo, so now is a good excuse to start raw feeding, the only reason ive kept on with kibble meals is to make sure she is getting the right nutrients as she is growing.

today i purchased a bag of chicken carcass, and beef/lamb heart and kidney, i gave her a chicken carcass and half a kidney for dinner but a bit unsure weather thats what i should be doing, i can do all the reading i want but its diffrent actually doing it.

if there is any experianced raw feeders or jsut any raw feeders who could give me a head start on meals ect i would appreciate it.

  2. if its a toy breed its not going to be big and heavy, most people have this thing in there mind that dogs should be kept chubby ect, most peoples dogs i see are fat.

if he is healthy and active your mate has no worries, the best looking dogs and longest living dogs ive seen have lived of the minimun required food.

  3. i agree with the neighbours saying something, but unless there in your yard i find it will be hard for them to see anything,

i see no problem with raising and killing your own feed in the fact that its fresher then anything in the shops, and you know how it has been fed and raised with no added hormones ect, not only that its a whole food.

rabbits are the perfect meal, very lean meat.

  4. ive been walking my pup since 9 weeks, at first it was jsut getting used to the lead, mabey 3 min, then around 2 months we would walk around the block

now i take her to the park on a 20 foot rope and play fetch every couple days, or a walk around a few blocks mabey 20 min

and about 10 min on the flirt pole everyday

A tired dog is a Good dog,

i wouldent be running untill a year and a half

  5. I lot of people on this forum don't feed innova because you can only get it though PP. That's probably why no one is answering your post.

Innova is very high in protein, so it probably upset her tummy. It's a very rich food and should be introduced very gradually.

I actually don't think innova is suitable for puppies. Not because of the high protein content (that used to worry people because of some misleading studies) but because calcium to phosphorous ration is not adequate for growing pups.

    How old it your dog?

she is 18 weeks, ive called around and ive been told that the inova evo dont make a specific puppy range, the small bites inova evo is suitable for small breed puppies and adults, but its jsut not advised for large bredd dogs,

i know about the pp thing, but really im doing whats best for my dog and i dont see how someone now purchasing form pp is going to change anything when 100's of people each day do, each to there own but

  6. some of you have probly seen me post in other threads about buying a new kibble, on sunday i bought a bag of inova evo small bites,

i gave around half a handfull to my girl this morning, i noticed tonite she did about 4 poops in 4 difrent places in the yard,

i was curious to check her stools and i noticed there were all much softer then usal and very small, hence it being divided into 4 difrent places lol.

it this a normal reaction to a change in diet? i was ment to save some of the advance kibble and change over a week or so but since it isent her main food souce i didnet bother.

and how wuld i be able to tell if she has an upset stomach? i will defentality be adding some plain natural yougurt this week jsut to make sure,

    any advice is appreciated.

because i wanted the evo, the owner of the store told be to get the inova evo small bites, he sed even it dosent say for puppys on it is the one ment for small to medium breed dogs puppy and adult, anyone know anything about this, i dont think there was a puppy food in the evo range just the inova

  7. hey all, ive made my own dehydrated chicken liver treats for training, and my girl will do anything for them so it makes training fun and pretty easy.

ive alredy got her to sit, down and shake hands

there the ones i knew how to teach and it only took one or two sessions each for them.

the probelm is now im stuck, i want to keep training her ovcourse but i dont know how to train any other tricks.

any help would be appreciated so i could get some more training happening.

  8. ive had my pup sleep on my bed a few times, i usally end up taking her out at night to her kennel becasue i cant get to sleep at all when shes on my bed.

even tho she sleeps at the bottom of my doubble bed she jsut alwasy seems to be in the way, and the loud breathign and snoring, and for some reason she is like a walking heater, she makes my room far to hot and thats with the window open.

then i got an old giant bean bag we had lying around and gave her that to sleep on next to my bed, buts it to noisey when she moves around, the bean bag is now in the tv room and shes loves it. it moulds to her body in what ever postion she wants to lay down in.

  9. APBT - Orijen is not available in Australia. Check wherever you shop for Evo as to whether they do accept returns on palatibility - they don't locally to us. Artemis Maximal is grain free and has a palatability guarantee, which means if your dog won't accept it in spite of a proper attempt to change diet, that you can return for a refund.

    Sags

    thanks

  10. im just about to finish my second and last bag of ADVANCE puppy plus chicken, my dog didnet show any instest in it at all.

im now going to purchase another brand this weekend, i want a grain free kibble and from what ive read im tossing up between innova evo orijien and artemis,

any last advice. the only thing im worried about it purchasing a bag of food and she wont eat it, i had enough trouble getting her to eat these last two bags.

and for people in sydeny. anyone shop at petbarn?

  11. just called my vet, he sed he like to give 3 vacs, a c3 at 8 weeks then a c5 at 12 weeks then a c5 booster at 17 weeks, the last is not a must but he sed he will check ouy my girl when i take her in and tell me then.

does this vac plan sound normal to most? im not sure on the brand. ive read on other fourms about people buying the vac's them self and doing it at home or even brining it to to vet and using the product of your choice. is this legal here or did i read it on an american site
