  1. my four line up in a row and watch which can be abit off putting
  2. Easiest solution would be is to purchase a king size bed and that way there's room for all of you
  3. Oi Steve K9 .... i would love to hear your how you would work with this
  4. Been there with my samoyed. Shes had it done twice so far. Firstly by specialist vet at the local surgery (which cost me less) and the last time by a doggy opthalmologist. I would definately go with an opthalmologist as the equiment eg.microscope is so much better than what a local vet would have. My dog has no scarring apart from a healed ulcer on her eye caused by the irratation. If its only a few hairs they can be plucked out but would most likely return. The hair follicles need to be excised completely for the problem not to reoccur. So far its been 6months since the last surgery but i have been forwarned that the hair follicles that havent been removed will most likely cause more problems later down the track. You may be lucky and only require 1 lot of surgery but i would advise take your pooch to someone whos an expert in the field. When i had to way up the diffence in cost between the two (double the cost with an opthalmologist) i simply put it in the following context. I wouldnt have eye surgery done by a general surgeon nor would i allow a dentist to deliver one of my kids. Good luck.
  5. I used to have exactly the same problem with boofhead. I tried the treats, his ball... anything that he would normally give me his undivided attention for .... but on walks it went out the window. What i did in the end with the help of a trainer was give him a correction, about face & walk the other way. I must admit tho he normally didnt bark at ppl just dogs. But it was the same type of bark ..... excited which can be abit frightening for those holding the other leash. For me correcting was one of the hardest things to do especially as he's a very soft dog... but it was the only thing that worked in the end good luck
  6. how awful for both of you RIP
  7. I do believe we all behaved like adults. You accused me of attacking you personally.... my response for that would have been one of your own quotes buts since you've deleted them i cant respond. I dont understand why you would delete all yr responses. If you truly believe what you said then you should have stood by it and not deleted it. It is now unfair for all other doler's who will read this thread and try and make sense of it
  8. You know nothing about me or Hagrid so pls refrain from making statements about what sort of person you think i am
  9. If thats the case.... wouldnt it best that there is no sheep herding that way the sheep wont be stressed by any breed of dog then this quote I think in your eyes its very much about the breed. You've totally contradicted yourself. At least develop some balls and admit it So the sheeps welfare is ok when a border collie attacks the sheep but not with a locking jaw pitbull? Pitbull's bite and hold.... no thrashing....which means less damage to the sheep unlike other dogs that maul
  10. I would rather not be negative and focus on the "what if" Hagrid was bred to fight in the pits with another dog. He is not a guarding breed and for bite work.. pfff i cant even get him to play tug. My focus is getting him to work in prey drive. Him knowing all his satisfaction comes from me and to ignore all his surroundings including sheep
  11. why would a fighting breed kill sheep? You presume because its a fighting breed its natural instincts are to kill. I think not. Are there not working dogs out there that are shot when they kill stock? HELLO .... LOCK JAW??? I think you need to spend some time on the EDBA site re: myths Touche Comments like yours "lock jaw" just fuels BSL and aids eradication of the pitbulls all together I am not interested in ANKC because i have no choice due to the breed i own. I have every intention to continue herding.... just dont think it was anyones business to know
  12. That would only mean something to those who know the lingo. As for me... it didnt even register
  13. I have yet to read anywhere any mention about ANKC on the "fun days" Can someone please tell me where i can find it
  14. I have a few comments to make especially as my dog has been named a few times in the quotes. No offence to anyone but this is how I feel after reading some of the posts. I can understand the concern of DOL'ers on this forum having a "killer dog" out in the paddock tormenting the sheep…. Bringing the whole herding world in disrepute. Lets remove that image & replace it with this one 1. Controlled environment 2. Skilled trainer / herder 3. Dog savvy sheep 4. Muzzle's if required. 5. Responsible owners this isnt about ANKC herding but another method of training Dont need to read the rules as i will never be able to participate in ANKC herding events. Yes they are.... especially the lock jaw .... sounds very much like BSL B*S* to me lumping all the dogs together. I can only speak of my own dog who i would never put in the situation willingly to hurt himself or another animal. It comes down to responsible ownership and knowing your dogs limits. I know Herding_Guy and trust him completely when it comes to Hagrid. I would never enter a situation that could put my breed at risk. I think most ppl on this forum would know that. Herding for me isn’t about ANKC events but rather another form of training to add onto his regime. Foolish are the dog owners who would put their pooches & sheep at risk Dont you need some form of stock to be able to do this? My thoughts exactly. An option could have been rather than posting here.... PM Herding_Guy with all the private emails regarding your concerns and have him put your mind at ease. thats the feeling im getting edited to add this quote Do you have a problem with the breed? Marina Lover of all boofheads
  15. Alison it looks like the last weekend in Jan
  16. No double dating..... Hagrid says he's man enough to have both Tubby & Rosie..... he doesnt share :D
  17. Hedds ..... just love your running commentary. :D
  18. Thankyou so so much Hedds for taking the shots. I'm such a proud mamma & i even have a lump in my throat.
