  1. Careful, don't tell him he can't count to ten on the FB hate page or he will delete your comment! Gotta hate it when people delete your comments, I should go make a hate page about it I hope whoever this twitt is can still post as I would like to ask a few questions myself. MN is the queen of slander and hate sites. I have been blessed with a couple myself :D
  2. Yep, no answers ever. Blame everyone else!~ It's the vets fault! It was the transport companies fault! It was the foster carrers fault!, it was the kids fault!, it was the new owners dogs fault!, It was the boarding kennels fault!, it was the cats fault!, it was the pounds fault! It was the volunteers fault! bla, bla, bla. Never ONCE have they taken responsibility for anything Complete idiots.
  3. Thanks Hun, who is Troy Bateman? I have no idea  Been to busy with other stuff, so not up to speed.
  4. I wouldn't be allowed on the premises. That's not to say I haven't seen them though. And, I'm sorry, but any group that puts a dog in boarding, that has been told by the kennel manager that the dog is pregnant on various occasions, and refused to believe it or even get a vet visit organised, is just downright neglectful. That dog whelped in boarding and had four puppies. She could have been given vetcare much sooner and whelped in a home environment. But no. They know best. And who cares about just one individual dog in boarding when there are dozens? Maybe they could have spent more attention to dogs if they weren't dealing with arm chair rescues and keyboard warriors, I've never heard of that story but the reality is stuff happens, I got my car serviced once and they didn't put something back properly where it was meant to go, I went back and had them fix it, I didn't create hate pages on facebook, find out where the mechanic lived and stalk his address, and finding out who his friends were and talking crap about him to them. More PR BS Are you as thick as two bricks?????????????? The welfare of the dogs is FIRST PRIORITY. Jesus! ETA PR are the brilliant armchair warriors, glory whores at best. Problem is they have NFI what to do once they have pulled in the $$$$ and are left with a dog. They are incompetant fools.
  5. Banging on and blamming the tennants for not feeding/cleaning pens etc is typical PR BS. I don't give a stuff. MN heads up this group, If the tennants were not meeting the requirements she should have had people there daily meeting the dogs needs until things were resolved. It is just basic common sense! She is responsible for those dogs. Two dogs were taken to the vet, they have been working their backsides off to get the place into decent shape since the raid and I for one am thrilled. Anyone who believes positive change has come about via MN is a fool. It has come about through exposure and public pressure. If that is what it takes to FORCE her to pick up her game then I for one am happy to have been involved.
  6. So if their accounts were audited, it would show that funds raised for a particular dog went to that rescue? In short no. Or in this case no. All money can go into one account and is very difficult to audit. Director fees/board member regos etc (even if they are crap)can all also go into the same account. The funds are difficult to audit for that reason and she could string the OLGR along for years. What happens most often is that the OLGR or an independant chartered accountant will have to 'estimate' between donated funds and the rest. This does not give a good indication of funds donated. Not sure now as they are registered as a tax decuctable org? Sad but true, she has every loop hole down pat. She is becoming undone now though after a long time.
  7. Dear Miss Annie has crossed the bridge I can't write much, Dad and Annie have always been soul mates. It is just total devastation for our family.
  8. I can't get into this as I am a wreck. My Dad passed away on the 7th and not long after my Dad's heartdog Annie was struck with a paraylsis tick. Annie has 24 hour care with her vet for 7 days. Mum has just called and decided to pts as Annie is so very unwell. Annie is 13 years old and completely adored. I can not belive how cruel this is. Please send you love and thoughts, Annie will be set free in 30 minutes.
  9. That is the first course of action she takes RJ, has done for ages. Does not matter who she is dealing with it is always the same. I have not had a letter or PM threatening legal action yet, would not matter anyway as I have a great Barrister and Animal Law Lawyer and she knows it.
  10. Sorry Sheridan, release to rescue only. Dogs deemed RTRO have medical or behavioural issues that require further assesment in care
  11. After Heathers psychotic break I can't see some posts, is it just me or have they stopped people writing on their wall? yep, they stopped it after I asked about a little dog that got killed by a PR rescue. they responded by saying that person that adopted was told the dog had issues but wanted it anyway and they left it outside alone with the little dog. I asked, Is that not irresponsible placement? then ALL the posts by others disappeared This is BS, I am not suprised by the response to you though. The lady was "fostering" the dog for PR's, it has since bounced through god knows how many kennels due to behavioural issues. MN is and was FULLY aware of the issues, she is still trying to rehome this dog without disclosure of the issues.
  12. I am not that familiar with BCC though I know Holroyd council have a "no kill/low kill" policy with BCC. Holroyd dogs have a huge amount more time impounded. At HP the dogs remain on the site until they leave the shelter, some may be urgent, others are safe though the site is designed for owners who are looking for their pets. The euth list for HP dogs comes on a monday, it is absolutely clear which dogs are urgent and those who are not. There is no excuse for PR to post pics on their site and make up dribble in an effort to raise money. Problem is the general public do not know any better. As any and all questions/concerns are deleted most people are in the dark. PR's have listed NFS dogs on their FB site and fundraised for them. These dogs were never to be released. PR's have pulled RTRO dogs out under their clause and then put those dogs immediately into homes. They have fundraised endlessly for dogs which have left the shelter with other rescues, when made aware of this they continue to list them as urgent/fundraise. God only knows where the money goes, certainly not to the ethical rescues who take the dogs. There have been some very interesting developments in the past few days. Serious stuff.
  13. Photo??? I like snakes and wish they could be left alone, but where i live we are in a set of 20 units, we range from 90 year old ladies who spend all day every day into their garden down to i guess it would be me - pregnant with a new born only weeks away. It isnt safe to let them have run of the place when they do show up My brother has a snake (python of some sort) and i love him, im one of the few people who will walk in and hold him, everyone else is scared of him! I think they are amazing animals... when not in my backyard! Here you go.... my beautiful Elmo. *Named by my kids.... He was about 18 months at a guess in this pic. I must take some new photos of him as he's a big, beautiful boy now! See him smiling???? Proof that he doesn't want to hurt anyone! :) Elmo is freaking me out Jeropath. Yikes, I can not belive your kids love him. I am not saying it is bad or anything, I am just not used to it, let alone being friends with venomous snakes. Are you married? How does your wife cope? How does my Wife cope???? My Wife has a bigger collection than me! She runs a business called "Kinder Kritters" and takes a hoard of animals (reptiles and Marsupials) into Schools, Kindergartens, Special Development Centers etc educating children on our amazing Wildlife and how they can help protect these animals. She has a special 'Wildlife Demonstrators Permit' to be allowed to do this. My Wife has some enormous snakes, a huge Lace Monitor, and actually, Snap the Crocodile belongs to her.... When we met 10 years ago, she was deathly afraid of all reptiles, and believed that Bluetongues were poisonous etc. I used to take her into the WA wilderness and catch these snakes and lizards etc and show her how cool they really are, and how to enjoy them safely. I also was able to correct countless untruths she'd been taught about snakes etc from a young age. She's certainly done a full-circle, as these animals are a huge part of her life. I really don't know what I'd have done if she didn't grow to love them.... I doubt I'd have ever married her as it has always been a big part of my life. Wow that is amazing and beautiful :) Kindrid spirits It would scare the life out of me as well
  14. I wouldn't be making any deal with him about house or furniture. The dogs are a separate thing. Who is moving out? If it is you, just take the dogs with you. Then when you settle for an amount of money, the monetary value of the dogs and what has been contributed to their upkeep can be taken into account. what a horrible thing to say, the dogs were bought by both parties and are loved by both parties. So was everything else they bought as a couple. Splitting up means somebody misses out, at least until settlement. If it were my dogs I would take them with me and not leave them behind like the washing machine or fridge. I agree with GM, I would not leave without my dogs. I know it sounds harsh though to the OP you may be able to work through this between you and your partner, after separation. I hope that is the case. I would not leave without my dogs, ever.
  15. That is me I freak and have had one in the house as well. It is not an easy house to get into though we had three/four weeks of very heavy rain. He had 7 other calls to go to after me. I was a basket case and had most visitors sitting on the kitchen table, the kids and dogs were all locked away. The WIRES guy was great thank god; Got him out of the wardrobe and took him somewhere.

  17. I have not read other posts though if I were you I would sit down and honestly think about the dogs. I mean 100% honestly and authenticly for their benefit alone, take everything else out the equation. Will you be happy to leave one of the dogs/both with your ex partner? Will he meet their needs as you can? If I knew 100% the dogs had much better quality of life with me/I could meet their needs consistantly better than he can, they would both stay with me and I would move hell and high water to ensure that. Remember dogs are considered "property" so if you let one or both dogs stay with him and you leave, it will be very difficult for you to take the dogs back into your own care. Good luck.
  18. Just an update; sorry I have not been back to let you all know what has been happening, things have been so very busy. The wires guys came out again and think he lives under the house so I have to be so very careful. Why he was so cranky I don't know and neither do they though he was obviously on a mission. It is IMO a series of unfortunate events that have led to this and I thought I would share to perhaps help others. The house yard and property have been undisturbed (not much activity) for months as I have been travelling so much to spend time with my parents. The dogs come with me. The house yard and paddocks have not been maintained as much as they would be normaly. Normaly the house yards and paddocks are pretty imaculate, they are not overgrown atm and most would say the yards and paddocks are great though it has been a change. I have recently rescued two chooks and now have another special needs chook and three ducks. The ducks have a large pool to swim in so water is out that would not have been otherwise. I removed a pond years ago as I had three RRB in one summer and I was convinced they were coming for water. Did not have the same issues again until now. The dogs water and pools are on my large deck, I have never had an issues with that. The chooks and ducks free range in a safe area near the house so I can keep an eye on them. I clean the area daily, sometimes 2x daily though it is another change and snakes/chooks is an issue. My stress level were through the roof for a number of reasons and this contributed. I freaked out as I simply did not have time to deal with a snake. I just wish he went away the first time! I live on a property surrounded by national park etc, it gets very hot here and we have had almost no rain for a while. The horses are not at home, so the surrounding paddocks are also undisturbed. In hindsight, intead of forcing the snake away from the house three times It would have been better for me to let it go and "observe" where it was headed. That way I would be better informed on what areas to be really careful of. If it went under the house I could have blocked it up and called someone to take him away. If it went for the chook/ducks I would have known it was after water/food etc. We have thousands of frogs around the house, it might have been after them? Anyway the naughty bandit has not been back that I can see. I must admit I am now a little pre occupied watching for him any chance I have. The bio recycle guy is a lovely old character, was here yesterday and was very upset I would not let the dogs out (as he adores them). He had a good look for the snake though could not find any sign of him where I saw him last. IMO mangement and supervision is crucial and the only answer (for me) in regard to my gorgeous four legged friends during summer. My dogs do not go outside until I have done a yard check, then I am with them the entire time. At least that way I can call them back/and or will know that they have been bitten so that I can get them to my vet in time. The yard work is underway and I will be home much more often now. It has taken me hours to send this post as I have been on the phone, sorry. Thanks so much guys for your help :)
  19. Thank you Wendy, gosh that is scary beyond words, browns scare the life out of me. We had one in the house yard as soon as the weather warmed up. As kids growing up on a property and always in the bush, my sisters and I had "JUMP, SNAKE!!!" down pat. It was always a brown and OMG they can get P-off quickly
  20. Kill it???? Not only is this against the law, but puts the OP in a likely position of getting bitten. Most snake bites occur when inexperienced people try to catch or kill a snake. It is not illegal to kill a snake, if it is threatening you or your animals. I will dig up the legislation if necessary but this is a very common and very false piece of "common knowledge" ETA: Here you go, let that be the end of the ill informed "it is illegal to kill a snake" rubbish http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/nsw/consol_act/npawa1974247/s112.html I am not sure where you are BJ though in NSW and in my local area it is illegal to kill a snake. Around here snakes are killed every single day during spring/summer, dogs are also shot if they roam. I HATE snakes though seriously I have to wonder, SC's advice is always great and killing snakes in the past has not stopped them coming here. In fact I think I have had far more and I have been here 14 years.
  21. Must have been some myth I'd heard somewhere and was hoping for some fact behind it. Seriously snakes can get over a metre in height IME. I have seen them do it. They can squeeze through tiny gaps as well, I would not have thought they could squeeze through the gaps I have in my brickwork as they are tiny, though the WIRES guys have said "no problem for a snake"
  22. Because they play an important part in our ecosystem. Yes they play a huge part in our ecosystem. No different from sharks who are just about extinct through finning and fishing. God only knows what will happen if sharks become extinct. Caz, check out the documentary "Sharkwater" amazing photography and really balanced interviews. You are a dog lover/owner and a snake lover as well. I have spent endless days and hours educating my local community re poundies. Trying to break down the stigmas and myths attached to anything is tough. I do not envy you at all, though if this is your passion then education and better support around here (Hawkesbury NSW) will make such a difference and OMG it is worth the effort as the results are incredible to witness.
  23. Thank you I have been trying to avoid tomorrow and everything else. To be honest the snake has been a good distraction. Better face the music now. Thank you all so much xxxx
