Hey!! my puppy likes it when it's cool... he sleeps in front of my balconey door with the door open. If i don't have it open, he goes to sleep on the tiles in that bathroom. Keep in mind.. he either sleeps on the bed, or he has a dog bed with 2 pillows, his own mink blanket and an old thick woollen jumper. He whinges when he realise he falls asleep on my bed and it gets too hot... or he sleeps on his back so his underbelly isn't covered...
  3. ohh.. i'm curious about feeding puppy kangeroo meat that they sell at supermarket and pet barn too!! are they any good?!!? my parents has only ever fed their dogs raw meat, seafood and bones... they have never fed their dogs normal dog food before, not even dry biscuits!!! my parents get raw meat from their local butcher (who's also a good friend of dads)... who is happy to hand over kidneys, heart etc.. although, if you go to asian butcher.. you will get real cheap chicken heart, pig ears, pig foot, blood jelly too!!! (i'm asian.. asian eat weird stuff.. LOL) on the dogs birthday.. they get a whole chicken to themselves! LOL
  4. well, the lady i got Charlie from said that he has been flea and worm treated.. and i only got Charlie last week. but, i'm not so sure because when I bought Charlie home.. he had fleas... i had to give him a flea treated bath on his first day home! so, i'm not quite sure about the worm now.. that's why i'm going to take him to the vet tomorrow to check. Ah, okay then. If he hadn't been flea treated, more than likely not wormed (or maybe not properly) either. The vet can advise about routine treatment as well as heartworm, tick prevention etc (if you are in a tick prone area) no ticks.. thank god!
  5. haha.. thanks. i was just thinking if puppy can overdose on worm tablets or whatever..
  6. Ahh... lol. this is going to be interesting... i wonder if that's a chore, my OH will want to take. he wants to bond with Charlie and all..

  9. Sounds like you've solved the problem haha.. i hope so! still, going to check if he has worms..
  10. ok.. thank god! seriously, i've lived with dogs all my life... but Charlie is the first puppy I've own. my parents adopted older dogs (we had 6 growing up).. the youngest was like 9 months old or something. yeah, i look at his anus.. and it looks kinda matted. i cleaned it up with a wet towel.. so hopefully, it's fine. still, i'm going to take him to the vet for a proper check up though..
  11. what a funny read! seriously, I've been bitten by 2 dogs.. one was from the most scariest chi i've ever met, and another was a pom who has some serious issues!! in fact, all the big dogs i know are the biggest sooks and are so placid and sweet... the small dogs are the ones i look out for!! and now i own a small dog...
  12. i haven't noticed.. but it's lighter in colour? Diet is important as dogs need to form firm stools in order to empty their anal glands, so a dog with soft stools is more likely to accumulate an excess of fluid in the glands. However some dogs (mostly small breeds) seem to have problems regardless of diet and need their glands emptied on a regular basis. If they're allowed to remain full they can become infected and if left indefinitely an abscess may form which will need draining and treatment with antibiotics. At worst the anal glands may need to be removed. wow.. now i'm more than a little worried! puppy is only 9 weeks old! puppy is booked into the vet tomorrow morning for a thorough check up! btw, puppy is on a raw food diet. mostly chicken at the moment... and he gets puppy milk too (he goes crazy over it)
  13. i haven't noticed.. but it's lighter in colour?
  14. ok.. i'm going to take him to the vet.
  15. Well, I'm a little worried... but, for the past few days, I've noticed that Charlie has been dragging his butt on the ground... I've never seen any dogs do this before.. is this something i should be worried about? Is he cleaning his butt? or is he itchy?
