I have a new baby pointer, Nero (nemo or token to his friends) he had the best debut one can ask for with a baby puppy in show and baby in group :-D
I'd post a picture but for some reason I can't from my phone!
Congratulations!!!

This has probably been answered already, but when submitting a manual entry (so far I've done them all online with ozentries) do you make the cheque out to the club or the show manager? Or the "Entries to..." person? In this case it's the Murray Valley Kennel Club, the show manager is Mr M Gabell and it says "Entries to Ms M Smith..." with an address. I thought maybe that's only who you address your entry to, and you make the cheque out to the club. Would that be correct? And one cheque for both the Sat and Sun shows, but separate entry forms, right? Thanks!
They often say "Cheques made payable to ....." And that's who you make the cheque out to. If it doesn't say, I would make it out to Murray Valley Kennel Club.
Often the schedule will say if they want separate entry forms, or if you can just use one.

It is always possible to pre purchase admission tickets for Melbourne Royal Show.
I think Woolworths, any train station, either Ticketmaster or Ticketek too.
When it gets closer, just watch papers etc
Yes, but they generally won't let you use those tickets to get into the dog section in the early morning, you have to wait and go in through the front gates. Not much help if your breed is first on.

Wangaratta KC has neuter at their shows as well on the 29th and 30th of June, entries close this week I believe. This is the first year they have offered neuter, fingers crossed they get some decent numbers too.
Yes, Fern and I have had to travel interstate for competition at the Group level. But at our two most recent shows (Deniliquin and Albury) we had another neuter in Group 4, at one show a basenji, at the other a dachie. While these were NSW shows, I spoke to both the exhibitors, and they are both Victorian based.
It is great to have competition, and the neuter classes are such fun.

Am happy to pay it was just wondering if we had to pay 2 dishourner fees.
Will ring the show sec and appoligise now.
I'm sure they will appreciate your apology and you being happy to pay the fee. Like showdog said, I bet this is often a bad situation for the club, and hard for them to get the money. Good on you for being willing to pay it

Woooooohoooooooo!!! GO Team Huddy!!!
-
Thanks for the results!

No idea Keezzzza if the organisers will travel that far.
Maybe during the shows held at Myrtleford, which month are they again?
And if they get enough response they might consider it.

Ovens Valley shows are held in April.

I don't really understand that point of view Haredown Whippets. No one would suggest that once a dog has won a certain number of BIG or BIS it should no longer be allowed to compete. So why would people consider putting restrictions on which dogs can compete in the neuter classes?
Also, I don't believe there is any issue with the quality of dogs entered in the neuter classes, not that I have seen anyway.

My young boy recently won his first neuter in group yesterday and I was very disappointed that all we win was a ribbon.
Why is it that we have to pay the same entry fee as entire dogs but dont get the same reward for winning our class in group?
I completely understand how you feel. At a show last year, I won neuter in show with my girl, and the prize we received was less than what all the other class in show winners had received. While I was obviously still thrilled to win, it did make me feel a bit like a poor cousin to the other class in show winners.
I do think it is a rare occurrence though, other times when we have won either NIS or NIG, we have received the same as the other class winners.

i have been following this topic since the beginning and i want to thank you all, i now go into the ring with the attitude of my dog deserves to win as much as any other dog here and since then my boy has had 4 best of breed 2 best of group 6 open of group and an open in show, so thank you all
Well done!
