My best friends DDB was baited just after christmas this year for no apparent reason other than that some idiot thought it had the potential to bite local kids or kill other dogs. how wrong they were he was the most loving dog i have came across other than my own and bonded with every person he ever met like they were his new owners. cute and funny when a 60kg beast trys to sit next to you on the lounge like he was a 5kg lap dog. my feelings realy go out to these people and i hope they can find a way to restore their faith somehow and move on. i would make these people pay with the same outcome as they put these dog through. im not sure how much he weighed but there is a DDB named hugo who was owned by a vet/ddb breeder in the northern suburbs of adelaide, and he was a massive ddb, but i think even he would be struggling to get to 85kgs. i would write of anything that the rspca has to say about anything these days when it regards to "dogfighting" ive never heard of or seen anything they have done ever that would proove they could know or even find out anything about dog fighting in this country. i think i would have a 97% chance of finding more info about it in one month over here than they could do in ten years with the slow assuming aproach they would have towards it. unless they have me fooled, i have a funny feeling they wouldnt know how to talk the talk let alone walk the walk. i am sure that this poor family has started to try to find a way to move on but my heart goes out to them, and i hope justice is brought to the culprits of these peices of crap who done this.

They are not my actions that are making me act this way but others and in a twisted way its a form of protection, i know i am going overboard thats just how i am feeling at the moment. i use to walk the same dog down jetty rd glenelg 8 years ago and she would be treated like some exotic princess, the only time she would get a bad reaction was if i was asked about "what type of staffy she is". i wont do this forever it just feels easier for now, with all the attention thats getting thrown in this direction. i am paranoid that if on some odd chance that she over reacts towards someones child and sctatches them with her claw this may be classed as a attack. my daytime walks just seem to be filled with less joy these days, and since being back in my old haunts i am finding that up too three times week, i am dealing with someones yelling at me from a car or across the road to "shoot it" or something across those lines. last time we walked in the afternoon, across the road there was a little girl with her nanna waving at the puppy with all the joy of a young child, but i am seeing this as a major risk for the "one time" that goes wrong. Its not like i dont trust the dog , i dont trust the people. sorry to hijack the thread.

i can say i dont think that my dog will bite anyone unless being put in a situation where she feels threatned. ive also never let here be put in a position where she would feel threatened. due to the last six monthes and the exposure that the bull breeds have been given i am finding myself changing my actions when walking out in public with her. i used to walk head on into people if they didnt have a dog walking with them[kimba is a faily da towards certain dogs and sometimes i just dont want to have to trust her] and proudly make her listen to me and get her to sit or drop until the people coming towards me can see she poses no threat, they usually get that idea by her whole body wagging and her other language. i started by walking heracross the road when i saw people with kids were coming. gradually i decided to just "be safe" and cross the road if it was anyone at all. i now walk her late at night too late for anyone at all to be around. its now 12:10pm and weve just got home. i understand that my own paranoia of prevention is getting extreme over the bullbreed thing but i just have to deal with it, after all it was my initial choice wasnt it. i am getting gradually very tired and am missing the hours of sleep i seem to be not getting anymore. how anyone can be stupid enough to leave anydog tied up in a shopping centre unsupervised and exosed to any moron who can harras it with nowhere to go, or who cant supervise their own children astounds me. how many more children are going to have to be hurt and have micro or plastic surgery because of someone elses stupidity before these thing can change. i was attacked by a large dog when i was four years of age and nearly died, needing hours of surgery and huge blood loss due to numerous puncyures in my neck and face. i am lucky enough to have been gifted with rugged good looks that a few small scars about my face has only aided me in life[sorry i had to have some fun with it]. i think we should be putting down the parents and the pet owners for putting their loved ones in these positions where they will be put in these situations, regardless of if that loved one is a dog or a child.

whats done is done and i think unless you have walked a mile in their shoes you cant say what you would have done in that situation. putting shit on them isnt going to help the situation now.

to make it clear none of my previous comments about ANKC members were to be taken as aimed at all ankc members far from it actually, my comments were aimed more at SOME people who in my eyes have only their own best interests at hand and i only commented on my own personal experience with SOME members. i would have never expected them to try to help the Apbt, as its on the list and has been for what seems like eons. Not all APBT owners think so little of ANKC breeders or members, but it doesnt mean we havent been critisised from some members for our breed of choice. some come across as being on a high horse while we are merely fodder for them to talk about. someone like me painting all with the same brush would be no different to people painting all APBT with the same brush. i also think just because there are two? regs worldwide who dual reg their dogs that hardly makes them the same breed. just because i dont own an amstaff it doesnt mean i wont be trying to put my two cents in to help prevent all this from happenning, i dont want any dmore dogs added because i dont think it will acommplish anything other than ruining alot of families lives by seizing their dogs or cutting down their options of where they can live due to the breed they own. ive just left a loving partner and a 60k a year job because i couldnt have my dog in brisbane. it will take me longer to get the same paying job back in sa than it would in qld, its just a fact but my dogs are my responsibility and id rether see out my pets life legally and in a safer environment than risk seizure or even the looks i would get from some on my daily walks. and i dont think people are out there falsifying any papers i think its more of a thing that someone has suggested could be done from the APBT owners to make their dogs safer, and if they do they need to be exposed. if the Apbt,s in nt have a higher chance of attacking in Nt than the amstaffs there i would like to think the main difference is the type of owners who have them more than the dogs. breed makes no difference, unless you are talking about DA then i would expect all Apbt to be more DA than most Amstaff, if not they one of the biggest goals of amstaff breeders has failed which i dont beleive it has.

Justin its all speculation on both my behalf and tybrax's but it seems to me its not just about the dogs. John has very sucsessfully on more than one or two times , made the gccc look like the biggest bunch of morons in the country when he out witted them very easily. if you are not aware look at tybrax's website and see for yourself.

as far as i know the Qld club has been closed down for years? or maybee gone into hiding since the laws got stricter? the only Club left as far as i know is the club based in victoria, who i would assume is the above poster, i am pretty sure i am familiar with a couple of the dogs in the above avatar from my old bulletins.

Are they realy that accurate jed? i am under the impresion that they are only as accurate when it comes to dam/sire or family litter mates ect. I recently read a report on the the vadility of them and it contained a group of fifteen dogs amongst it. two of the fifteen dogs were ADBA registered APBT,s and the results were alarming, on of those dogs came back with a result of it being 25% beagle, 60% neo, 15% cocker spaniel. this was a colby breed dog which has over one hundred years of family breeding behind it. there wasnt a single result in the lot that seemed like it was in any way reliable. This may be an older report i will admit while browsing another forum i didnt look into when it was made. However i was totaly alarmed at how many random breed names were thrown into the mix that it was near impossible for these breeds to be thrown into the lieage of those said dogs.

im sorry i wont claim that my 90% claim is a statistic that you will be happy with or taken from countless interveiws with ANKC breeders. What i will say is that i have never ever met a single ANKC breeder that wouldnt have sold me a dog without papers had i asked, and that is a statment i will take to the bank. WHY? because for three years i owned a company and 80% of my clients were ANKC breeders. thats a stat i will say is 100% correct.

exactly tybrax, it is more out of spite and revenge for making them look stupid on numerous other occasions. i dont think it has anything to do with Amstaffs.

what would make you an expert? it doesnt matter wheather i can or you can if thats the way the ruling is we are stuffed. i think that they are pretty easy to tell apart personally. how many red nose american staffs have you seen? how many blue Apbt's have you seen? ive never mat a single Amstaff with the same personality of any of the Apbt's that ive owned. not one. and every Apbt ive owned has had a very similar temp. just because some moron from a council thinks they are the same doesnt mean they are. they have pretty much been bred seperatly on seperate lines for over 50 years. truly you can tell me you think they are the same as much as you want i will laugh harder each time. but that wont change this ruling, i just hope the Amstaff people, choose to work together with us instead of holding any spite towards us so we can move forward together.

personally i realy dont expect anything from the ANKC, theyve done nothing for me or my breed , but thats not the point. a couple of people on here have stated that even though now the Amstaff may be in trouble even as an ANKC breed they can dig themselves out of it, and that sickens me. thats the attitude that helps not a single person. they have even said if it doesnt have ANKC papers then bad luck, yet 90% of ANKC breeders will hapily take $900 off a buyer for a non papered dog. if that is the attitude why sell the non papered dogs? they should be culled if they realy feel that way, BUT then they would be some times upto $3000 down on a litter of pups if they didnt suit what they wanted. very very peddler like if you ask me. what will happen if it was their dog in the spotlight? they would be begging all the others they could to help their beloved breed. i will sit back and write letters and do what i can to help this current situation for one reason, i wish they would do it if i was in the same situation.

well once i see the paper work i may agree but at this stage i say bull...t. it makes no difference who or what my point is that the next breed on the list was ALLWAYS going to be the AMSTAFF, and alot of the Amstaff people didnt care less because it wasnt their breed, we have as example people who own , Central asian shepards, border collies, greyhounds, rottie, Gsd's ect ect ect, who have done more for the bsl in this country than the "next" dog on the lists reperesentatives. [not all of them but a fair portion] I counldnt careless, it is the GGCC's fault this should have never happened in the first place. how do you still have all this info blackdog i know for a FACT John is still sitting in court as i write this.[or was thirty mins ago]

no offence, but they should have wrote them before. this was easily something that was predicted and instead of some people sitting back and watching the show they should have been in there and giving some support because they understood, the plight this family has gone through. now they are in the position where they are starting pretty much from scratch while the council allready has the ball more than rolling.

it doesnt look good at all , in some ways yes in others no, it seems amazing what some people will do out of spite. Tybrax, from what i understand is very busy dealing with media ect and John is still in the court room. i will save the correct info for Tybrax to tell as i do not want to write it and it not be 100% acurate. one thing i will say is "we told you so" to all those people who wouldnt help and said they would never be effected.
