  1. Love everyone's images. Especially this one Pers. Great photo I'm so far behind with my Dogwood challenge again so I shall sort out some of my other shots I've been taking lately.
  2. Yep, I'm definitely catching up. Only a couple of weeks behind now Dogwood Challenge, week 25 Story - Toy Story Tell a story about toys or with toys. My son. Not too old to play with his cars
  3. I'm on a roll with my Dogwood challenge, determined to catch up. Week 24 Artisitic- Green This one was easy for me because I've had my eye on this fern we have in a pot out the front of our house for a while now. Definitely green
  4. Dogwood challenge week 23 Technical - F8 Portrait Find a way to isolate your subject without using a shallow depth of field. I decided to get my wide angle lens out and get up close and personal with Luka
  5. Thanks Perse. They are sooooooooooo comfy and warm Week 22 Theme ' Geometric Shapes' Outside my comfort zone again with this one but I've driven over this bridge a few times and have been fascinated by it. If you were to look other other way the colors transition from red to yellow. It's really funky
  6. Ok I think I messed up my weeks somewhere so excuse if I'm double posting weeks. Trying to get back on track with the Dogwood challenge. So the theme for week 21 was 'Soft' This is a pic of me and my son in our comfy soft slippers. I love the fact it's cold enough for us the wear them now
  7. Trying to get back on track with the Dowood challenge Theme: Backyard, give us a glimpse of your life. My backyard is my dog's playground so I had to include them Not the sharpest of shots but moving dogs in low light isn't the easiest lol.
  8. They're really pretty @Roova What a great idea. I've never heard of them
  9. Week 21 Footprints in the Sand. Thanks to my daughter for inviting me for a walk on the beach with the fluffy Jenna. It really was just what the doctor ordered.
  10. That's a toughy. I have the Canon 24-70 but I must admit I rarely use it. I prefer the 16-35 for landscapes and my 85mm or 50mm for portrait stuff. But if you use yours a lot then it's a difficult decision. Extra reach, but only F4. Sorry I was no help at all
  11. I love it Canisbellum, it's the MkII. It's heavier than I would like but still better than taking multiple lenses out with you. The wave shot I posted was taken with it too.
  12. Week 20 And I think I'm up to date The fist time I've picked up my camera since my son's diagnosis. My daughter moved out a few weeks ago but she popped in for a visit yesterday. She had the cutest hat on so I snapped a few shots of her. I edited them today. My gosh I do find photography/editing so relaxing. It's my therapy
  13. Week 19 My Luka, amongst some pretty yellow flowers Love this doofus so so much. He brings a smile to my son's face even when he's struggling with his new diagnosis. Luka was surely sent to watch over my boy
  14. Week 18 Another beautiful evening on the Sunshine Coast. This shot was the first photo I took with my birthday pressie from my hubby. A Canon 25-105 F4L A great all-rounder to take with me on outings.
  15. Week 17 I love this shot I took a few weeks ago of a beautiful evening at King's Beach. The waves were fantastic and I loved the light looking towards the Glasshouse Mountains in the distance. I have actually sold this on canvas to a friend. Only my second ever sale
  16. As I have got so far behind with the Dogwood challenge I think I'll have to admit defeat. I may go back it later in the year but for now I am going to post some of my other photos taken over the last few weeks to catch up in here at least Week 16. I took Luka to visit my son in hospital. They met in the car park. My son's smile was priceless
  17. @Scottsmum I'm so out of the loop on here. I didn't realise little Scotty had gone to the bridge. Hugs to you SM @persephone That is a stunning silhouette image. I love it I'm getting further and further behind. Maybe when things calm down at home and we get some semblance of normality back in our lives, I will be able to pick up my camera again.
  18. I'm late with week 15. The theme was Hard. I've been busy and couldn't think of much to do with 'hard'. Then. As I mentioned in the dear thread, my youngest (12), was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on Thursday. We've been in hospital since and while he was lying there in the bed it occurred to me, it doesn't get much harder than watching your little boy go through what he's having to these last few days. He's actually coping really well and is being an absolute star. So this week is dedicated to him
  19. Week 14 Technical -panning. I take lots of panning abstracts but I haven't ever tried to pan with a moving object. I wanted to try and get some surfers but I couldn't find any in the right position and the water is still so messy after ex cyclone Debbie so I settled for my daughter and Jenna on the beach. Not sharp by any means but using my creative license for this one
  20. @Roova We actually faired quite well with the storm. Hope you're ok where you are. I can't believe how bad it's been in paces south of us.
  21. Week 13 Dogwood theme : Golden Hour We've had lots of cloud and rain here recently so it wasn't easy getting a shot this week. There was one evening that was looking promising so I popped out to a local lake to see if I could get something. I saw a few Plover birds, so I approached them slowly and got this shot as they flew away
  22. Right, I am officially up to date. This week's challenge was Orange. I'd driven past this strairwell numerous times and when I found out the theme this week, I knew immediately I would try and get a shot of it. Week 12
  23. This week's challenge was to use Split Toning. This is where you individually change the hue of the shadows and the highlights. Not something I usually do and don't think I would use it very often but always good to try something new. Just a simple shot of some purple fountain grass Week 11
  24. Ok so I'm really late with my week 10 image. I really struggled with this week's theme. Perspective and we were encouraged to use forced perspective. Using distance between objects to create illusion of size. Not overly happy with the outcone but very happy week 10 is behind me I also tried to go fur a grungy look which needs some work lol. Week 10
  25. Great, that worked. Found it and Liked
