  1. Oooo looks good and free delivery! Very tempting but maybe a little more than I wanted to spend but now I know you do them I'm in Vic Park, so very close. What size is bag when it's all packed up? Weight if that isn't too much to ask. And does it have the stuff to make a dogs blood clot? Like when you snip a toenail too short That's fine BB, they weight about 900 grams but prob wouldn't fit into the glove box (won't fit in mine but mine's a hatch). Yes it does have the blood clot stuff it's a Styptic Pencil - you can buy these at places like Big W, chemist etc in the shaving section, it's the same stuff guys use when they cut themselves shaving or you could try rubbing a cake of soap over the cut, that sometimes works. If your looking to make your own there's a company in Welshpool or Belmont cant remember but it's called BioJohn, it's where the Greyhound trainers buy all their bandages etc pretty cheap, you could just buy what you needed and use a lunch box or something to keep them in and just add to it, they sell the antiseptic sprays, pretty much everything really, I was going to make up my own to sell instead but when I worked out what I would need and the cost of it all it was cheaper to import the one's I sell from USA.
  2. Make sure you take some sort of first aid kit, at least bandages, tweezers etc just in case something happens. If your dogs are anything like mine they always get injured on a public holiday when the vet's cost a fortune! Where can you buy doggy first aid kits without having to buy them online? For a reasonable price? Or should I just buy one online maybe? Still something worth having in the car anyways! I actually sell dog first aid kits on-line - not that I posted that comment before to get a sale lol They have everything in them you'd ever need plus a book - emergency first aid for your dog. You can find them on www.dogkingdom.com.au under the for your hound section/first aid supplies If you want one and live near Thornlie I'll deliver to you free but no pressure!

  4. Nice site jazzy - and very cute harnesses. But I really like the martingale effect at the front of the Easy Walker which it sounds like the Jellybean ones have at the back instead. Very cute tho. Thanks for your comments! Yes they do have the martingale at the back and smaller loop at front. No problem, thanks for looking! Hope you find one soon..
  5. If your interested I sell harnesses online. I import them from USA and are gorgeous different colour straps (they are called jellybean harness) and very well made. I only have 1 left, I only just imported them and they've been very popular and it's a large size, it comes with a dual lead for attaching at front and back of the harness. Anyway, if you want to have a look www.dogkingdom.com.au under for your hound section. The website is for Greyhounds but the harnesses are for any breed of dog.
  6. YES YES YES!!! And i could guarantee at least another 5 people with Whippets that would be interested too! :p Where would you do it? At Cannington? Absolutely! We tried to do it with the retired racing Greyhounds that had been adopted some time ago at Cannington race track but the racing industry wouldn't be in it, they would have needed tractor driver, vet etc on course and the only day available would have been Sunday - not a problem with us being Owners but tractor driver, vet etc would want paying - and being their only day off! Unless you could find an enclosed oval somewhere that would be willing, we used to have Greyhound playgroup at the German Shepherd Assoc in Southern River they had a huge enclosed straight track the Greys could run up and down to their hearts content but then they wouldn't allow us to go there anymore. We would definately be up for it as I'm sure would other Greyhound owners, if you need a hand please let me know. Julie
  7. I had the Gosnells ranger on my dooorstep the day my pups turned three months (Sunday). Your kidding!!! That's unreal... They are so black and white, there's no liniency with them whatsoever. My neighbours wouldn't let us that's for sure, every time our owner (we're renting) has applied for a permit i.e. swimming pool or gazebo etc the neightbours knock it back even though it's not going anywhere near their house. They seem to hate us for some reason, don't know why, we always wave at them, never have parties (have 2 young kids).. They'd knock back our application just to annoy us I'm sure.
  8. I'm in Forest Lakes too, few hoons, had our car broken into recently but otherwise pretty quiet. If anyone is interested there is a teaching vet practise at Swan Tafe Bentley where we take our fosters for their sterilisation, vacc, teeth clean etc, they are cheaper than normal vets as they are teaching students and very good.. I took my boy to get this teeth cleaned, our local vet quoted $600-800 and Swan did it for $150.
  9. It's such a crock of sh*t! I'm in City of Gosnells too, we have 2 Greyhounds and also foster Greys which we're allowed to do since they are temporary but I have a beautiful girl Grey who's currently racing and soon as she's finished she's coming home, stuff them and their rules, we have neighbours who were surprised to find out we had dogs cause they were so quite. Another reason we hate living in this area, we're wanting to move to the hills so we can get a couple of acres and have as many as we want (although haven't checked out their laws yet!) I've been talking to a lady in Virginia USA who runs a Greyhound rescue group there, she sent me photo's of her place over xmas when she had 12!! Greyhounds in residence, all lying over the couches - they have no such stupid laws. (obviously!) I sent City of Gosnells an email back in Sept to find out if I needed a licence for a business I run out of home, 3 email reminders later and numerous phone calls and noone has gotten back to me, typical!
  10. I was at Riverside Gardens last night and noticed a few greyhounds there, running free and not muzzled. I did wonder if the laws had changed. The dogs weren't a problem at all, in fact I could easily have snuck one home with me No the laws haven't changed yet unfortunately and it's still illegal to have a Greyhound in a public place not muzzled and very dangerous to have them off lead in an unfenced area especially when the owners have very little control (because they can see upto 1km away and nothing will stop them once they are off and running - especially a road!). GAP WA have been trying to get the laws changed for some years now as Greys are not at all vicious it's just a law from way way back and doesn't take into account ex racers as opposed to racing dogs. We have Greyhound playgroup every Sunday around Perth in a huge fenced off area where they can run to their hearts content, it's great to watch! Thanks for the tip about Kwinana Beach, I asked around and everyone I spoke to thought it was one and the same, might be worth a visit then to see if it's quieter than Cockburn.
  11. The CY O'Connor Beach in Cockburn is the same as the Kwinana Beach, it has a few different names. It's not a bad dog beach but is quite popular, lots of dogs off lead but not always supervised by their owners, can be seaweedy at times but generally ok. We used to go alot but having greyhounds that have to be muzzeled and kept on lead wasn't fair on them when other breeds would come up and 'have a go', we heard of a couple of greys that were attacked and we haven't been back since. Shame but what do you do..
  12. Thanks! Im excited but more than a little nervous. I'm such a worry wart. Hello, Sorry to hijack your post but I sell tick removers if anyone is interested. They are available from www.dogkingdom.com.au under the For Your Hound section, First Aid Supplies. They are $8.00/each and are suitable for humans as well. Just a thought... Julie
  13. The first vet I called after it happened said to rub a cake of soap over the nail. I tried but Ivy kept pulling away and the soap was getting covered in blood and I wasn't too sure if she was just making things up .. now I know she wasn't Hi all, I sell K9 First Aid Kits if your interested, they have everything in them, including a first aid for dogs book, they are located on www.dogkingdom.com.au under the For Your Hound section, my website is dedicated to Greyhounds but the First Aid Kits can be used for any dog. Julie
  14. Ron, I'm so sorry to hear that, I know of 3 others that passed during the festive season and it's so sad. Know that she's free of pain and now running free. She will remain in your heart forever Julie
