ACWA has classes on a Tuesday night at the Canine Centre and I think enrollments are the begining of each term.

July is their next intake and that might already be full. I'm starting beginners agility at Eden Hill tonight, already do obedience there, should be fun .

Went to the Nationals and came home full of enthusiasm to give agility a go, can you please tell me more about the Eden Hill agility classes? I think I saw some of the ladies competing with shirts on saying they were from Eden Hill

At 12.30 this afternoon my precious Miko was given his wings. He was only just 14 months of age. :D It was heartbreaking to let him go, but the right thing to do. Thank you to everyone who had us in their thoughts today, it is very much appreciated and i burst into tears reading everyones well wishes. i work in a shelter environment and assist with this stuff weekly, but its even more devastating when the animal is a part of you.

He will be back with me in a week or so to take proud place back here where he belongs. I am honoured that i got to be his mummy even if it was only for a short amount of time. I am doing reasonably well, but coming home and seeing his stuff sets me off again. He went through alot in his short life, but i hope he knows i did everything possible to give him the quality, not quantity. he had a multitude of health issues which had begun to drastically change his temperament to the point he was unsafe and unstable which was through no fault of his own.

I remember the day he chose me like it was just yesterday - arriving at the shelter as a teeny bobble headed thing, picking him up from out of the van and not putting him in his kennel. Too young to not be fed overnight, he came home with me and thats where he stayed. Originally a foster, it soon became apparent that he wasnt going anywhere and became a loved and cherished companion.

A dog only his mother could love, he was the best thing that could happen to me, my best friend, my baby, my everything. He taught me so much in this past year that i will be forever grateful for. Cheeky little man he was, always up to something and making sure i knew it. From pinching shoes when no one was looking to loving 'his' foster kittens so much - over and over we told him he needed to be gentle. He tried to be gentle but always came off as the clumsy oaf that he was and always ended up carrying them to his stash spot. I just wish he had been blessed with good health, looking at my 18 year old boy now just hits home how unfair it is.

When I went through this with my Holly I tried to comfort myself with the thought that it was only me that suffered as she wouldn't be in pain anymore and that I would feel sad only because I would miss her in my life

We are going down tomorrow and Sunday mornings to watch - cant wait

I was wondering, and if its not on then we wont do it, but can we bring Merlin down to watch? Although (obviously ) he is not competing, I wanted to bring him down to see how he goes with that many people and dogs around.

When I had my boy put to sleep, I made the call to the vets and asked them to meet me in their carpark out the back of their surgery and I had it done in the back seat of my car so that he was not distressed at all. I sat there and held him, but as soon as the needle went in I questioned the decision I had made and wished for them to stop but in my heart I knew I had done the right thing. Hardest thing I have ever done in my life and miss him so much, if only I could have done better for him.

It will be 12months for my girl on tuesday and I miss her sooo much

Sadly I share the same anniversary as you Harley, Holly left me a year ago on Tuesday. We were so lucky our vet made a house call, still something I can recall like yesterday.

Hardest thing in the world to do without doubt (for me anyway) :D

This guy lives right next door to an alley/access way so maybe someone did attack him, been very worried about this cause we take Merlin to the park just across the road from him

The street is a cul-de-sac and his house is about 3 houses from the end so doubt anyone would be going to fast down the street, however I know it doesnt take much speed to do damage and people do drive their dogs down the park so maybe he was accidentally hit while he was bolting across the road to the park.

Would really prefer to think it was a car accident than to think someone bashed Jack like that

We have a 6 mth sheltie, Merlin, 3 cats - Bella, Jessie (moggies) and Axl (Manx)

Jessie is almost 20 and grumpy! They all know to leave her alone. Bella and Merlin are best buds although sometimes Merlin does get a bit enthusiastic. Axl is still finding his place but is a BIG stirrer to both Bella and Merlin

They all share the house 24/7 separated only for food

I grate my vegies and fruit (raw) and mix with the meat and a little garlic and freeze in small containers so Merlin eats fresh. We add chicken necks and a supplement when serving.

Merlin loves his food

Hardest thing is to remember to bring a food container out of the freezer each day!
